Halloween is my favorite holiday! These jokes had the kids and I cackling! Only complaint was it’s not long enough! We need more!!
Okay, this book was amazing. Perfect for a day when you need a good laugh! Short read and heavy on the puns! I laughed way more than I expected to!
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!
Very punny. Would absolutely make a great gift for any goth or ex-goth in your life!! Highly recommend
**Thank you to NetGalley and 8th Circle Press for this ARC in exchange for an honest review**
I wanted to like this, but it was just very disappointing. None of the jokes were funny, and that makes my little goth heart sad.
This book made my dark little emo heart smirk, just slightly though.
I adore Christmas cracker jokes and I'm yet to come out of my goth "phase" so I loved it.
Highly highly recommend to anyone who went through or is still in their goth era.
Thank you to Netgalley for giving me a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This had me chuckle so much! Quick and fun read with very witty and sharp jokes!
Some of them are so true as well. Will definìtely read more about this author.
This would make a cute coffee table book. I guess it’s difficult to judge without seeing the physical book but the idea is cute!
I requested this simply for a quick read that hopefully would make me chuckle and it achieved that. Since this is only a DRC I think the final product will be more enjoyable for the reader since it will have more illustrations but when it came to the dark heart of this book (see what I did there, goths?) I enjoyed the jokes themselves and that was what mattered the most to me when I was reading it.
Thank you to 8th Circle Press and NetGalley for this DRC
I cackled the second I saw the cover of this book and absolutely had to check it out. The title is perfection and the jokes themselves are *chef's kiss'. I have always had a dark sense of humor (Hey fellow healthcare workers, I'm looking at you:)) and these were so delightful. I can't wait to be able to buy this when it comes out this May. Thank you for giving me the chance to read this.
This reads much like a Twitter account that receives plenty of engagement but has a relatively low follower count. The humor is simple and dark delight. I'm certain it would've been more enjoyable had my "copy" been physical; the digital version just doesn't capture the theme as well. Regardless, I look forward to purchasing a copy or two for spontaneous, silly gifting.
My thanks to the compiler, publisher (8th Circle Press), and NetGalley for providing the means through which I could peruse the eARC.
not gonna lie, when i saw this on netgalley available to read, i immediately downloaded it just because of the title.
some jokes worked better for me than the others, but the illustrations were immaculate and so cute! i also didn’t expect to see one of my favourite characters, Edward Scissorhands, in it. 👀 if you’re like me and you love everything black and sarcastic, this book is perfect for you. it was such a quick and fun read, although i would’ve 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙙 it if the book was much longer. i felt like it ended so abruptly, i needed more. 😂
in any case, i still recommend checking this out if you want a book that’s entertaining and which you can finish in one sitting!

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I wasn't sure of what to expect when I first got this book and all in all it wasn't bad but it was too cringe for my taste. In proportion I could say I laughed at 30% of the jokes and that the 70% left felt like very dark dad jokes.
I think I read this in under 10 minutes, which is actually great for a jokes book if you read it online but I don't think I would buy it just for the jokes themselves. But I did love the illustrations which make this a little more "buyable".
Anyway, not bad but not too great either.
A few of these jokes made me laugh, some made me exhale sharply, and some others still made me roll my eyes, lol. This was ok, but as I'm in my 30's I heard most of these in high school, so it was kind of a flashback to my teens 🤣
Thanks NetGalley and 8th Circle Press for the arc
This is a fun little book. I am not usually one to read joke books but since it is goth related I had to check it out. I laughed out loud many times and even had to roll my eyes a couple times. This is an enjoyable book. Thanks NetGalley for allowing me to read this book.
A hilarious mish-mash of goth jokes. The memories of being an 80's and 90's kid was a pleasant step back in time! Two jokes stuck with me and I find freaking hilarious!! I'm going to get a copy for my bestie when it releases.
Thank you #NetGalley for sending #OhMyGoth by Andrew Shaffer!
10/10/10. This book is ghostly hilarious!
This is a short little joke book that is goth/death/ghost focused and had me dying with laughter from page 1…see what I did there? Ehhhh?? Ehhhhhhh?? 😅😂
Perfect gift to give the dark humor lover in your life, or just read to tuck away some hilarious nuggets for later. I’ll DEFINITELY be keeping some of these in my back pocket….muah haha haaaa. 😈
ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you to NetGalley and 8th Circle Press for this ARC! This was an adorable and hilarious book that I will definitely be getting a physical copy of. I loved the dad jokes meeting goth humor, too cute (even though I don’t think that was what Andrew was going for) to me! Also loved the little pictures with the jokes as well, so great.
The jokes were funny. The I’m so goth phases were a bit cheesy (coming from an emo kid). I loved the mock up pages and couldn’t definitely see this being sold in hot topic.
I love goths. They are intriguing and I am fascinated. I grew up thinking Wednesday Adams was the coolest, although I never went through a goth phase myself. These jokes were humorous and put a smile on my phase. I bet they could even make a goth’s mouth twitch.
I enjoyed this short compilation of jokes and am sure I will tell a few of these to my husband.
Oh My Goth:Jokes for When You Feel Dead Inside
By Andrew Shaffer
This is a joke book that should have been longer. That's my only complaint. I enjoyed it and wished for more. It had jokes that made me moan, giggle, laugh, smile, and ones I wanted to remember.
My two favorite jokes:
Q: Where do goths sleep when they go home for the holidays?
A: In despair bedroom.
Only one country singer wears more black than Johnny Cash:
Goth Brooks.
Do I hear moans? (Hand cupping ear) Good! The goth is working!
I want to thank the publisher and NetGalley for letting me read this fun book!
