A darkly humorous quick and easy read. Full of fun jokes and gothic humor. The artwork is unique and helps convey the gothic theme.

I really loved the idea of this little joke book but my dark, morbid soul wishes there was more to it. The Trent Reznor joke was my favorite though.

This book is exactly what it claims to be: a joke book. Unfortunately, there was nothing humourous or inventive about it. It mostly consisted of dark dad jokes which were quite fun at first but eventually became a bore and fell flat. While these jokes weren't my cup of tea, I have no doubts that It’ll capture the attention of many other readers.

Thank you to the author and the publisher for this ARC through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Oh My Goth: Jokes for When You Feel Dead Inside by Andrew Shaffer is a short book of goth themed jokes and quips.

Good premise, however found a lot of the jokes fell flat and at most got a small 'heh' out of me. Would recommend as a joke gift for your gothy friends or if you're looking for a quick read and don't mind dad-style jokes.

I received a free copy of this book as an ARC, from NetGalley. This review is my honest opinion of the book.

This is a compilation of goth-y, somewhat morbid jokes, and it's cute! Not super groundbreaking, but a good selection. To be honest I had already heard or read a lot of these jokes before. I wish there had been more, because even though it's a gift book and will have illustrated pages, I felt there wasn't much to it.

I do appreciate the potential of the end object though! It's nice that these gift books now have a lot of variety, so you can find one for pretty much anyone. This would be a fun gift for a like... young teen... who loves Tim Burton a bit too much, you know? Or for an adult as a bit of a tongue-in-cheek gift. Or if you have a goth dad in your life, because I bet goth dads still love dad jokes.

Oh My Goth: Jokes for When You Feel Dead Inside by Andrew Shaffer is a short book of goth-themed jokes. As a 96-page book, it is a quick and easy read. The illustrations are well-done and complement the jokes nicely. The humor is generally what one would expect from a collection of "dad jokes," with some jokes being more clever than others. While some of the jokes are tired and old, others incorporate pop culture references that may appeal to fans of the goth subculture. As a former teenage goth, I sometimes found the book amusing but not consistently so. It's a fun and light-hearted read but too short to leave a lasting impression. Nevertheless, it could make a nice gift for someone who appreciates goth humor. Overall, I give Oh My Goth three out of five stars. Thanks to NetGalley and 8th Circle for the free review copy.

It’s 1 am and I’m laughing in the dark. These are cheesy and fantastic and everything 8th grade me needed tbh.

Thank you to rhe publisher and Netgalley for the advance copy, I found this a good little collection of daft jokes, they sounded like the type a Dad would tell to embarrass their goth kid, and I can get on board with that!

A decent little coffee table or toilet book.

Although weirdly the jokes were actually not quite dark enough in my opinion!!

While the cover and description of this book instantly drew me in. The contents were a spectrum from cringe (I’m so goth I need spf just to open the fridge) to laugh out loud funny. Loved the included illustrations.

A great little novelty joke book for any goths or emos. Made me laugh and the illustrations go perfectly with the jokes. Would make a perfect gift. Really enjoyed it.

I groaned. I laughed. I had a great time reading this little collection of jokes. Goths and non-goths alike will enjoy these. I’m sure of it.

Had fun reading these jokes last night. Some of them I have already encountered and some I just read. It's pretty good however I'm not so sure if our emo and goth friends would appreciate it. Most likely those who have a good sense of humor.

This book is fun if you were a goth kid or were friends with a goth kid when you were on school and want some one-liners to throw out there based on that theme.

Oh my goth
(Jokes for when you feel dead inside)
Compiled by Andrew Shaffer

I had to see what this one was all about! I love the idea but I must say that it was a bit underwhelming. I think this would be a nice bathroom or coffee table book. A funny little conversation piece, I suppose!

Many thanks to netgalley & the publisher for this eArc.

I was able to access a copy of this on NetGalley! The title of the book is very on point; it is a short compilation of jokes that are for a very specific audience. Several of these I've heard several times as someone with a father who was also dead inside, but it felt more like a comforting nostalgia than an "ugh, that joke again?"

The jokes were tasteful, dark without being offensive, and funny!

If you're a fan of dark humor and all things goth, Oh My Goth is a book you might enjoy. Andrew Shaffer's collection of jokes is definitely morbidly funny, and I couldn't help but crack a smile at some of the jokes despite feeling dead inside myself.

The illustrations are a nice touch and add to the overall gothic aesthetic of the book. However, while some jokes had me laughing out loud, others fell flat and felt forced. Additionally, the book is a bit on the short side and can be finished in one sitting.

Overall, I would recommend Oh My Goth to anyone looking for a quick and amusing read, especially if you have a penchant for gothic humor. It's perfect for Halloween or anytime you need a dose of dark humor. However, if you're easily offended or don't appreciate jokes that are a bit on the morbid side, this book might not be for you.

Thanks NetGalley for the e-arc.

The sample that was provided was brilliant!! I was surprised at how many times I laughed out loud and also how many jokes I couldn't help sharing with others.

Loved the Edward Scissorhands reference!

The illustrations are really good and this is definitely one I will be going out to purchase to add to my bookshelves.

Thank you NetGalley & 8th Circle Press for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.
These jokes are so bad they’re funny, quick read (less than 100 pages) of goth jokes that’ll make you chuckle. Honestly would have loved a longer book full of more dark humour jokes.
