This was a fun little read that contained some classic goth jokes and some dodgy ones! But it's funky, fun, and it made me giggle (shock horror!!)

Thank you to Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC

This was a fun little joke book and loved it for its dark sense of humor. I would suggest this for a fun gag gift for a goth you love(or despise ha). I loved the illustrations inside as they really add to the experience of the book.
It is super quick so I definitely wish there was more.
Thank NetGalley for letting me read this funny little dark book to warm my little dark heart.

Oh my goth, this collection was awful. I expected fresh jokes or a decent collection of witty, alternative puns. Instead, this book offers regurgitated internet memes, poorly executed bat and death one-liners, and misinformed band references.

I absolutely would not pick this up if you consider yourself alternative, emo, or goth. You'll only be annoyed by how utterly terrible these "jokes" are.

A funny book, some jokes were meh, but the others really made me laugh. I think some people will really enjoy it, but It was not for me

Releasing on World Goth Day, bravo! This one was hard to resist and felt like something I needed in my life.

I'm happy (but, not like too happy, more a morose goth kind of happy) to report that it did not disappoint. Some of these had me smirking, but don't tell anyone. I don't want to lose me street cred.

Though, the CrossFit joke was over my head. In a turn of events that surprises no one, I'm not familiar with CrossFit at all. Are there CrossFit goths out there?

Thoroughly enjoyed this collection of goth-themed comics! This is a fun and funny little book and I'm already thinking about which of my friends would most enjoy this as a gift.

About half of the jokes made me smile and the other half were cringey “dad jokes.” I would read the book if I saw it on a friend’s coffee table, but I wouldn’t buy it myself.

I really love this little joke book! I’ve read it a few times and still giggle at the jokes. My friends and I passed around my phone and took turns reading jokes and had so much fun! I also loved the dedication! I told my husband, “Look! This book has been dedicated to me!!” It was never just a phase.

for me the book is okay. its falling flat i think because the title sounds amazing. Inside are little dad jokes on illustrated pages. a few make you chuckle like:
where do goths sleep when they go home for the holidays
- in despair bedroom

and others are a bit too "dad joke" for me
what did the goth say to the pillsbury doughboy
-nice tan dude

each page is one joke so the book feels long but really its probably 6 pages typed but its spread out for each joke to show artistic creativity (IMO)

again the book is okay. would make a fun little coffee or bathroom book

A laugh out loud ‘dad’ joke book… all about being goth.

I especially loved the Robert Smith joke seeing as I love The Cure.

A quick read whilst you’re making a cuppa or riding the tube!

Thanks netgalley!

This little book totally made my Monday not suck. Thoroughly appreciated the laughs and would recommend to someone with the same dark humor I enjoy :)

Corn on the macabre… my favorite!

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to review this ARC.

I was intrigued by the title and decided to give it a try. I thought this book would be funny just based off the title, but most of the jokes were corny, but the 2 I did find funny I immediately had to tell the joke to someone else to experience. I might have enjoyed this more when I was younger

I was surprised to see illustrations and those were really good.

If you want something “light” and short to break up your reads I’d try this if you like dad jokes

Overall it was just ok for me so I rated it 2 stars

Of Mirth and Monsters

Humor is hard; niche humor is harder! OMG is funnier than most joke books, which often have only a collection that's lame or recycled. I've heard a few of the gags included, but most are either original or creatively adapted older jokes. There are also some delights among the illustrations.

Thank you to Andrew Shaffer, 8th Circle Press, and NetGalley for a free advance reader's copy of the book. I'm not under any obligation to them, however. My review is my honest endorsement of an ample collection of laughs!

This was a super quick and easy read. However, I think I sit bang in the middle with this book. Some were funny others were genuinely very cringeworthy.

2.5 stars rounded up!

I was expecting a bit more, not gonna lie. It's a funny book, especially if you've ever been/are a goth and like to make fun of yourself. Some jokes are so old and used that have lost their meaning, and I think that was the issue for me. Maybe more new ones (though I know it's hard to come up with them) would have helped the book.

Other than that, it felt very short. Sure, it's a jokes book, it can't be 500+ pages, but still you could read it within 10 minutes. Granted there's going to be illustrations in the final version.

For me, this book would have worked better as a comic book type of thing. Instead of just random illustrations and pictures, maybe hire an illustration and give it cohesion. Just like Sarah Andersen does. That would've been so much fun, to picture each and every joke (or, at least, the majority of them).

Overall, a good read in between books to oxygenate your brain and one that will make you laugh!

"Normal person: Why do you always wear black?"
"Me: Just in case you die."
Bahhh, I don't even know what to say about this short lil book of goth jokes! It was goofy. I think I giggled twice.
So yea, thank you NetGalley!

I loved how funny and short this book was. I loved the dark humor because I have a dark sense of humor. Death can sometimes be funny to me, tragic but still funny.

I received an eARC of this book from Net Galley exchange for an honest review.

This book was cute. Mostly puns and dad humor. However, I did laugh out loud reading one of them which some readers might find inappropriate but that’s part of what made me laugh out loud because I was not expecting it nestled among the Dad humor and puns. You definitely need some knowledge of goth bands, and goth culture to understand some of these jokes, but the majority of them can be understood by anyone.
