A quick, easy and funny read that I couldn't put down. It made me laugh put loud several times in using on public transport
The sheer nostalgia of reading another Carmen Reid book made this such an enjoyable experience. Carmen Reid’s writing makes these so quick to read. I liked following on Annie’s story in this one. My favourite character is definitely Svetlana and she does not disappoint.
After experiencing a loss of her artistic inspiration and enduring the humiliation of a disastrous stage performance, Annie is advised to take a break and rediscover her creative spark. Meanwhile, she finds herself grappling with her stubborn daughter, who seems determined to make life difficult for herself. This book offers a delightful blend of humor, relatability, and absurdity. Readers will recognize glimpses of both themselves and their own relationships in Carmen Reid's well-crafted characters. What unfolds when you've done your best to raise your daughter, yet struggle to recognize your own success?
If you love shopping this book is a blast and I enjoyed the relationship dynamics between mother and daughter.
This was once again another brilliant book by this author. I haven't read all the books in the series. I have read book 1 and this one book 6. Even though I have missed a few books in the series, it wasn't hard to get into. it was, in fact, very easy to love. I was hooked from the very start. It was so well written that it kept my interest throughout and was so much fun. It's a brilliant laugh out loud novel. It was extremely difficult to put down. Which meant I had to stay up late to finish it. I loved how in this instalment it was mother versus daughter which was so much fun. The characters were amazing. If you love fun fashion filled stories, then the book/series is definitely for you. I really can't recommend it enough.
Only the highest of praise goes out to the author and publishers for creating such a wonderful story that just had me laughing and smiling throughout.

Fantastic instalment of the Personal Shopper series which can easily be read as a stand alone book. Laugh out loud funny! I loved every word and finished the book in less than a day. This series is so moreish! Great read, great series! I loved catching up with known character and meeting new ones. Fun, frothy, fashionable read!
Thank you Netgalley
This is a crazy, lighthearted comedy. Exactly the type of book that is perfect for a sunny afternoon spent on a sunlounger with a glass of something long and cold in one hand. But even if you're half buried in blankets listening to the rain on the window it will give you a laugh. Yes it is totally farfetched but who cares. We all need a little bit of escapism and this book will certainly give you that.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book.
I haven’t read the other books in this series but I really enjoyed this one. I will go & read the other ones now.
Shopping with the Enemy by Carmen Reid is book #6 in the series. First, I didn't know this was a series and things were all out of sorts for me. While I loved the book, I probably should have started at the beginning of the series. I always recommend this to readers even if it is a standalone as characters will make more sense. This story is fun, a quick read with characters that make you smile.
I loved this funny book, it made me laugh aloud and it was such a pleasure to read. So,light-hearted and I was sorry to finish it. A very satisfying read. Definitely more than five stars and I would certainly read another book like this at some point. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
I liked the sound of the book. There were parts I really did like, but ultimately wished I had read the others books in the series before this one.
So great to be back in anne valentines world. Such fun light hearted escapism. Although this book can be enjoyed alone. I would recommend starting from book 1. Be warned though you won't be able to put these books down
I enjoyed this book. It had great friendships between the daughters and the mothers. It also did a good job at showing the relationship between mothers and daughters. It does have a wee bit of romance and a bit of action some cross country road trips. I gave this book 3⭐ but that doesn't mean it wasn't a good book. Just for me personally it didn't have enough romance to be a romance book or enough action to be a thriller.
Thank you to Netgalley for giving me a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Shopping with the Enemy is a light, funny mix of relatable and ridiculous. Every mother and daughter will see a bit of each other in Carmen Reid’s characters. What happens when you do a good job raising your daughter and cannot see it? What kind of a relationship can you build with a daughter you did not raise? Reid brings laughter through craziness and guides her reader through the sometimes-tough world of mothers and daughters.
Annie Valentine has been relaunched and it was fantastic. I’ve read these books when they were released years ago, but loved reading this book again. Annie has not changed, she’s funny, she’s witty and is a great character to read about. She works with Svetlana who takes her off on a trip to Italy when her boys gets kidnapped.
This story is fun, a quick read with characters that make you smile. 5 stars.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for a copy.
Fashion fads are fickle. But how about fashion daughters being rebellious and fashion moms to the rescue?
This was a cute read and will satisfy any fashionista’s need for fabric fiction. Each chapter begins with a list of clothing and costs for one of the characters featured-mixing expensive with thrift.
My favorite scenes were between Ed and Anna. Ed was very patient and waiting, waiting on his mini break. What he did while Anna was in Austria was just pure sweetness.
My favorite scene was when Max locks himself in the bedroom.
For fun fashion frolics, take this book down the runway.
Annie feels like she is losing her touch so her friend and business partner treats them both to an expensive spa in Italy which turns out to be anything but the relaxing time Annie thinks it will be.
Throw in their daughters wanting to do something new in the business and the stress levels go even higher
Will Annie get her mojo back and can the business survive ?
Shopping With the Enemy is another of the Annie Valentine Personal Shopper series, and in this book Annie is facing a crisis. She's trying to juggle toddler twins, two teenagers and a successful TV presenting career. Something has to give, and Annie finds herself losing her fashion mojo. A relaxing Italian spa trip with friend Svetlana is in order, but in typical Annie Valentine style, nothing goes to plan!
Shopping With the Enemy is a great edition to the series. I really enjoyed the action taking place in different locations this time around, with Annie's daughter in New York and Annie and Svetlana careering around Europe in a Bentley!
It's another thoroughly enjoyable read; a great bit of escapism.
a fashion fun adventure from london to new york, italy to vienna. family feuding and friendships make this an enjoyable easy read. perfect for this summers beach read or just losing yourself on a sunday afternoon
Ive always loved this series as it reminds me a bit of my other favorite series Confessions of a Shopaholic. We are back with our favorite fashionista stylist Annie Valentine. This time though she’s lost her famous sense of style—gasp! And it focuses on the mother daughter relationship which is so relatable! This time instead of being as close as ever they have become enemies! While I was a bit crushed to read that at first I knew based on how much Ive loved the previous books to go with it hang in there and I surely wasn’t disappointed. It was a great storyline. It made me relate, laugh, and cry and it all ended in the most satisfying conclusion. I sure hope this is not the last book in the series. I know our readers love this series as well. Please pick this one up especially if you are a fashionista. You won’t be disappointed
