1.25/5 stars! This is the 6th book in the "Shopping with the Enemy" series by Carmen Reid and was my first read by her. Unfortunately, this was not a book for me. The writing felt very underdeveloped and juvenile for an adult fiction story. I just felt like the author didn't have a firm grasp on the reality of her characters and so the book was hard to engage in and extremely flat. I would not likely read further books by this author.

I received an advance review copy for free through NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This has been a delightful escape to a wonderful setting. I have definitely been transported by this one.

Simply put, it was okay. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either hence my 3⭐ read. It was also pretty boring and that made reading it feel like a chore. My favourite thing about the book would have to be the family. I love how it's not perfect, I love how the flaws in our MC's marriage is recognised and I love the dysfunctionality

A fun read, nothing too deep here, a bit over the top at times, but Annie is a likeable character. Nice to see her back. With thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I wasn't a fan of this book. She starts of complaining she hasn't lost weight while getting ready to meet friends. Then she complains about the mess in her home. DNF.

Funny story! The trials and tribulations of Annie and Svetlana as they travel to Austria to get her kidnapped sons are up against those of daughters Lauren and Elena and friend Gracie as they race to get a new line for their and their mother’s fashion business. Comical trouble assaults them all.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Shopping with the Enemy, was fun, a bit boring at the start where the characters felt a bit naive and clueless. However it soon got exciting and had plenty drama till the end.

This is a five-star read that will keep you wrapped in trouble. This is number six in the Annie Valentine series but they can be read as stand alone, as I have read a couple but not all, I think its like one and three, but you get enough of the story to keep you hooked. I adored the way that the daughters got to shine in this story as well as well as the mothers. This story will take you on a literal journey, to many places, and not just the spa in Italy. It is light and fluffy, even where it could be a darker story, there isn’t its kept nice and fluffy and is a perfect way to while a few hours in the sunshine. Carmen Reid will pull you into the fashion and drama and just make you smile so big.

I enjoyed this story! I had a bit of a tough timing getting hooked in the story but over-all I liked it. When posting my review, I did see that this was book 6 in a series. I don't think it was critical to read the previous 5, but it makes sense. I didn't feel super connected to some of the characters, but that would have been solved by reading the other titles. Even still, I enjoyed this story for what it was and LOVE the cover!

The old adage that a daughter will always need her mother certainly rang true in this book. Elena and Lauren wanted nothing more than Perfect Dress to be a huge success and created a capsule collection as a result to cater to a younger and more fashion forward audience. This was further exemplified by how each chapter started with a breakdown of what the character was wearing. Annie and Svetlana escapades were hilarious as they broke out of the spa but the end result was pure love for family. In that type of love coupled with finding your passion again, life is full of color and beauty.
