I really liked this book. Emily and Saul were fun to follow. The whole supporting cast made this book a wonderful read. Once you start it you cant put it down.
Welcome back to Cemetery, Indiana for The Little Flower Shop. This is the second book in the Indiana Summer series and it is most definitely a winner!
This is a heartwarming and fabulous read, especially if you love small town romance. We were introduced to the main characters, Emily, owner of the Little Flower Shop and Saul, owner of the local BBQ Pit in the first book of the series The Honeymoon Cottage. Emily has the reputation of being perfect, much to her dismay, due to her accepting nature and wonderful, caring treatment of her customers, family, and friends. Always looking her best and making her flower shop a great place to visit, she does not even recognize her own appeal. Saul, the local BBQ chef is good looking, easy going and the biggest catch of all the Cemetery men. But Saul has his own ideas of who he wants and Emily is in his sights! All he has to do is convince Emily of his intentions!
The cast of characters introduced to us in the first book is back in all their glory including Kathleen the mannequin who turns up in all the best places. There are also a few new characters that fit perfectly into the storyline and make you want more of their stories as well. I can’t think I a single thing I didn’t enjoy about this book!
I loved everything about The Little Flower Shop... Saul and Emily's fun, flirty friendship, all the little ways Saul tried to get her attention, the rescue pets, the secondary romance story, and of course, Kathleen the mannequin! I enjoyed the humor, and all of the characters were great. I really hope Wheeler gets his own story.
This is a heartwarming, small town, romance, set in Cemetary, Indiana. Emily has been settled in the small town since her divorce and not only is helping take care of her aging aunt and uncle, but also has a flower shop and is therefore known as the “flower lady“. The whole town has decided that they need to help find Emily love. It is really cute to see them on social media with the tag a flower lady trying to, get Emily a love life. At the same time Sal, who is the owner of a barbecue restaurant, has decided that he is going to pursue Emily after being interested in her for a while.
The romance of Saul and Emily is very touching and it helps that , you also see other people throughout the story. It’s a really good small-town romance in that you also see stories about others in the town besides Saul and Emily. All in all it’s fun to see Emily’s journey and her path to love with Saul.
I was glad to revisit the town of Cemetery, Indiana, in Lori Foster’s newest Indiana Summers standalone contemporary romance. Come along and meet #TheFlowerShopGirl and fall in love along the way.
With a name like Cemetery you’d expect a dark, morbid town with a giant cemetery… instead you’ll find a sweet lakeside tourist town with plenty of great shops and a touch of whimsy.
Emily Lucretia returned to Cemetery where she opened a flower shop. She loves the shop and being close to the Aunt and Uncle who raised her. The story opens with the wedding of the previous couple where Saul Culver, owner of the local barbecue joint and town’s favorite bachelor, makes his move. Well, truth be told, he has hinted for a while, but Emily has been oblivious. I adored Emily. I am sure you will too.
Saul is an all around good guy and steps up to help Emily when her Uncle takes a spill. Emily’s co-workers and family were wonderful and page time with them made me laugh and tugged at my heartstrings.
The romance had a slow-burn feel to it until Emily began taking charge. The relationship was sweet with a sizzling undercurrent. Both characters show growth and you’ll root for them. The drama was low key and had more unexpected turns and compromises.
We have side threads regarding wards, family, co-workers and, of course, the local mannequin. The story is rounded out with cats, dogs and meddling townsfolk. Foster delivers characters and situations that felt genuine. She’ll have you packing your bags and wanting to move to this small-town with all of its charm.
If you are looking for a feel-good read to curl up with, I highly recommend you take a trip to Cemetery and lose yourself within the pages of The Little Flower Shop. I for one, cannot wait to return.
The Little Flower Shop is the second women's fiction / romance in Lori Foster's Indiana Summer series. This can be read as a standalone, while it's set in the same small town the main characters don't actually have very little interaction with the couples from the first book.
This was an enjoyable read but unfortunately fell flat for me in many ways. Yet by looking at the reviews maybe it was obviously a me problem and not the book itself. I just didn't end up connecting with either of the couples that the romance arcs focused on. I was also quickly exhausted with everyone being described as good-looking, hot, handsome, beautiful, even a 14 year old boy. It was over emphasized and where's the diversity? It made it seem like everyone in this small town looks like models. OK we get it, everyone wants to get with the forty year old flower shop owner who doesn't know how gorgeous she is. Also the fact that the main female character was so hung up on a 2 year age gap 🙄 seriously, she was so hung up on everyone's age. Don't get me started on a certain big declaration of feelings happening over a phone call.
The highlight for me in all honesty was the grandparents. Who are 71 and 81 and still very much in love and proud of it. I adored them so much and hope me and my husband are just like them at that age.
2.5 rounded to 3
I loved this book and it’s worth re reading. It’s such a cute and fun book. Loved the city of Cemetery and the fun they had with “Kathleen”. Emily isn’t aware of her own appeal but doesn’t like being referred to as “perfect”. She’s best known as “the flower lady”. Saul is very interested in her, but did he wait too long? Loved the sense of family and that there’s more than one romance. Loved their happy ever after. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I highly recommend this book.
3.5 stars
Ms Foster brings us back to Cemetery, IN in this sequential addition to the series. This time we get to spend time with Emily and Saul (previous secondary characters) as well as meeting new characters.
This is a sweet book that has feel good themes woven throughout. Of the characters we spend the most time with, Emily evolves the most. It’s not that she really needed the change, she just needed someone to take the blinders off to really see the world around her.
In the well written story, Ms Foster shows us different types of love. That of friends, family, and community in addition to budding romantic relationships. We also see the power a good friend can have in opening up a wounded heart.
The Little Flower Shop is a “perfect” feel good read and I am curious to see if we get to know Cemetery better in the future.
Omg, of all the places, never in a million years, would I hear myself saying, I want to vacation in this town called Cementary.Highly recommend this! Saul and Emily are just two of the best written and highly entertaining people to read. I love how she just is all about helping her family and genuine loved and somewhat clueless to men vs Saul her complete opposite. I love how Saul has the confidence with people and just a genuine good guy vibe who’s very much comfortable in his own skin. Emily is confident with her business and her sense of right and wrong but lacking in her own self confidence as a woman. She is very relatable. Go read some of the funny conversations between sal and her aunt and uncle. As well how they start to interact. Get this book! It’s a great addition to The Honeymoon Cottage!
#theflowerlady is Emily, she owns the local florist and is the go to for weddings, funerals and all events. She's also the nicest person in town, making everyone that enters her store special.
Saul is just what she needs to shake her up and make her feel young and free again. He owns the local popular restaurant.
All the characters, including the animals had me invested in their story. Cemetery (unfortunate name) is a small town, full of nosy parkers and those who are community minded.
This is a slow burn romance which I love and such a heartwarming tale. I loved every moment and can't wait for the next story.
The second book set in the fabulous town of Cemetery, Indiana. Emily doesn't realize how special she is to the town and the impact she has. Saul owns the BBQ Pit and has tried to catch Emily's eye. Unfortunately she doesn't see her own appeal based on her prior marriage and age, but Saul is determined. You'll enjoy their story as several friends including Kathleen the mannequin bring these two together. A great story on love, family and friendships including beloved pets and their antics will leave you smiling.
I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
The Little Flower Shop by Lori Foster
Indiana Summer Series #2
Cemetery, Indiana might be the perfect place to find happiness, love, and your happily ever after. Great addition to the series!
What I liked:
* Emily: divorced, early forties, flower shop owner, orphaned in her teens, close to her aunt and uncle, open, warm, caring, easy to talk to, more than she realizes, interested in Saul
* Saul: restaurant owner, charming, hard worker, most eligible bachelor in town, responsible, has had his eye on Emily for a while, really nice guy
* Aunt Mabel & Uncle Sullivan: Emily’s guardians, stepped up when Emily’s parents died, loving, wise, there for Emily, still deeply in love with one another
* Gentry: new in town, early twenties, helps out at the flower garden and shop, has difficult backstory, caring, kind, and finds his future in Cemetery
* Mila: new in town, early twenties, works for Saul, open, verbalizes what she wants, rather taken with Gentry, finds her future in Cemetery
* Beck: fourteen, orphan, comes to Cemetery toward the end of the story, is taken in by his guardian, may have a part to play in the future books in the series
* Snuggles and Satan: rescue animals that are an interesting addition to Emily’s life
* Kathleen: town mannequin, gets around, fun, makes me smile thinking about her part in the story
* That I was drawn in, cared, and felt good when I finished the story – great way to spend the day!
* Knowing there will be future books to look forward to
What I didn’t like:
* Nothing really…only thinking about how difficult it is to grieve and how much more difficult it must be when young and you are taken in by others
Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Definitely
Thank you to NetGalley, Harlequin Trade, and the author for the ARC – This is my honest review

"The Little Flower Shop" (Indiana Summers Book 2) by Lori Foster is a fantastic read. I absolutely loved Emily and Saul's story. This story had romance, humor, small-town life, entertaining characters, close friends, and more. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the citizens of Cemetery again. I'm looking forward to reading more of this series. Highly recommend it to all fans of romance, humor, entertaining characters, and series.
The Little Flower Shop takes us back to Cemetary, Indiana . Emily, the flower shop owner is focused on making everyone happy. Saul owns a restaurant and tries to find a way to let Emily know he likes her.
This is a heartwarming story about a loving little town . The town mannequin adds some humor and quirky moments that lighten the story. This book would make anyone want to visit the cute little town .
I was excited to return to Cemetery, Indiana. The cute little town has the wackiest cast of characters. I love how the whole town is excited about Saul and Emily's relationship. Emily is has a few issues she needed to work through. They were really cute together and I love they got their HEA. Kathleen the mannequin is always popping up. I love there was a secondary love story in this book.
Another winner!
Fun, fast and sweet read. I enjoyed revisiting the town of Cemetery, IN. Lori Foster always makes you feel like when you open a book you are stepping right into the town and become part of it all. Including rubbing shoulders with all the characters.
Emily, known as the flower lady to the people of her small town, is all about her flower shop and taking care of her aunt and uncle. She has no time for a love life, even if she wanted one.
Saul is the owner of the local BBQ restaurant who has liked Emily for a long time and is determined to make her see that.
Soon the entire town is trying to find Emily Mr Right or, as Saul hopes, Mr, Right Here.
A fun story with great characters, romance, animals and that all important happily ever after.
A feel good story! This story is the perfect read just as Emily and Saul are the perfect couple. Emily and Saul are both dedicated to their small businesses but found out there is also time to dedicate to love!
So glad this is a new book in a series! I loved the first book and this one was just as great. Emily doesn't think she deserves more than what she has - a great flower shop in Cemetery, IN and family her aunt and uncle that she cares deeply for. The town has other ideas and that includes Kathleen the mannequin! Loved the story and can't wait for more in the series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. This review is based on an ARC from NetGalley, courtesy of the publisher.
The Little Flower Shop (ebook) by Lori Foster
I loved the town of Cementary after the first book, but Lori has made me want to move there. The people are all wonderful and full of love and pulling pranks with the town mannequin, Kathleen. Emily Lucretia runs the flower shop and Saul Culver, the town’s favorite bachelor and owner of the local barbecue joint. Their budding relationship has some angst, lots of laughter and a few tears, they both have baggage to work through, and everyone in town wants to help them. There are some issues with her aunt and uncle, her employee Gentry, his best friend's orphaned son and an irritable cat and a slobbery dog and the town matriarch. This book was so much fun to read, I laughed and cried and enjoyed the steam all to get to their very HEA.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
