I was offered the chance to read this book before publication. It isn't exactly my genre, but I thought I would give it a shot. It was really good!
Oh, the evils that men do and the suffering it causes others. That is my take away from this story of supernatural events taking place by trying to utilize things of the devil. One mustn't play around with relics. That might be too vague. The story involves shadow government and a mother and her son and people who unfortunately get into the path of what is going on. Most have no clue what is going on.
That is about the best I can say without giving things away. I really could not put this book down. The characters were real and most had a bit of bad and good in them, a few, just plain bad. I had to keep reading to figure out how these things happening could be resolved and the ending was very creative and quite explosive.
Thank you Random House and NetGalley for this early read. What a ride~!

Huh what an interesting book. I was pretty confused almost the entire time reading this book. I understand not wanting to reveal certain parts to keep the reader hooked, but I wish some of the explanations came out sooner so that I wasn’t so confused reading this. There was a lot of different moving parts that I almost felt weren’t necessary to be added. For example, Saint Michael I don’t understand his relevance. Also, I feel like the entire situation with homeland security (or whoever it was, I don’t feel like it wasn’t ever actually mentioned and if it was, I missed it) also wanted needed or necessary. I felt like it was just another added part of the book but didn’t really help the plot in any way. The plot could’ve been simplified and I would’ve still kept me reading. This book contained the devil, physics, the government, a hit music star, drug dealers, hit men, apocalypse, and suicide. WAY too much.

5/5 stars! Wow! This book is stunning. It absolutely took me by surprise. The premise was crazy and super out there so I wasn't sure what to expect. But the plot was phenomenal, the story was warped and creepy and intense, and I couldn't put this book down. Probably my top horror read of the year so far. And that cover was awesome!
I received an advance review copy for free through NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily
