Struggled with the spice scenes in this book but otherwise it was a good mafia romance. n
Dark romance is new trope for me and this one had a lot of things I like: kink, mafia romance, fast pace, business arrangement, gentleman’s club and plenty of plot twists. There was plenty of drama, which I didn’t think anything was over the top and while it might be a bit ‘instalove’, which I don’t usually enjoy, I don’t mind in the context of dark mafia romance.
Potentially there wasn't a lot of character or relationship development, but that’s not necessarily what I’m looking for when I read these books and I find it more believable that there would be less of these things in mafia romance.
Little Bird by Kally Ash was my first ever mafia-romance book and let's just say I was certainly not disappointed!
I gave this book 4/5 stars. I really enjoyed it, it was definitely a different change of pace from the other types of romance books I usually read! Although I did enjoy this book, I felt like most of it was filled with ✨steamy scenes✨ (which don't get me wrong, were good!), and the rest of the story was kind of pushed to the side a little bit (just a little bit!). However, I did really enjoy the intenseness/mafia elements of the book, specifically in the last 10-20% which seems to be when the main mafia-type plot was at its peak.
Overall, while this book is a mafia-romance book the romance aspect of it seemed to be the main plot which personally I enjoyed! I loved the main characters, Wren and Bane's relationship, and while it did seem a little fast their chemistry was unmatched! I cannot wait to read the second book in the series!
Thank you to Simon & Schuster Australia for sending me a copy of this book to review! 🥰
Ho-ley heck! All the yes’!
It has an interesting story line with ALOT of spice! So if you’re after strong both male and female leads this book is for you!
Back to the story line.. yes it has a lot of spice but it was captivating enough to not want to put it down. The spice was just a pleasant added!
3 words…. Bane f-ing Rivera
This book is for anyone looking for lots of spice, a rich alpha-hole, and a fast paced story with plenty of drama.
It follows Wren, who sets out to try get her brother out of some serious debt after some shady business. Wren marches straight into Bane’s club to try convince him to waive the debt. These two have chemistry to burn! I loved the fire between them.
Overall a good, quick read when you want some spice and drama!
