Alliteration allures! I have always loved playing with words and alliteration is definitely one fun way to play! So when I first saw this book years ago, I had to pick it up, and my kids were at the right age for the target audience of this book at that time. Now it has been a while and the review for this book never saw the light of day, gathering dust in the great unknown.. :)
So I borrowed it from the library and here is my review:
Daisy does despise the name her friend's brother gave her - Lazy Daisy. Now she is determined to come up with another name that will dazzle everyone and make them forget the other. She does come up with a cool name but what happens next? Read the book to find out ..
I love that readers can discover the allure of alliteration, do their own fun word exercises as they read this book, learn cool new words as Daisy's word lists popup through the pages, and simply have fun learning language.
The story itself is cute but not necessarily engaging enough though what we learn makes up for it.
In Summary: A great book to read-aloud or to read by oneself and wonderful for beginning readers to work on vocabulary development and literary exercises.
