This was fun and quick and i enjoyed every second. I loved the different personalities and laughed out loud a few times. These characters were so fun and even the side characters were super endearing to me

Cassie is desperate for a new place to live and when she finds a room listed in a gorgeous place for way below her budget, she knows it must be too good to be true. Frederick J. Fitzwilliam's rules are simple, though peculiar. Their schedules don't often overlap and she's grateful for that. It's not long before his eccentricities have a clear explanation. Cassie isn't exactly happy to learn that her roommate is a vampire, but the chemistry between them is too strong to resist.

I devoured this book. It's a really fun spooky season read.

So fun and funny! Definitely gonna re-read around Halloween. I especially loved the scene with Frederick ordering coffee for the first time and trying to pay with coins 😂 His lack of knowledge of the modern world really made this enjoyable.

This was a fun campy read but also a cute paranormal romance and a fast read. Cassie a struggling artist who was just about to be evicted ends up applying for the rented room since it is a steal for how much Frederick is asking for it. The two don’t seem to fit together at first, but they are both so likeable that you root for their HEA.

Cassie is a starving artist, working part-time jobs in an effort to support her craft. Unfortunately, it's just not enough, and as she faces eviction, a too-good-to-be-true Craigslist ad becomes her only option. Her new roommate, Frederick J. Fitzwilliam is a bit odd, but he seems harmless, that is until she discovers blood in the refrigerator. This one is a cutesy rom-com with not a lot of substance. The conflict is minimal, but the characters are fun. Would recommend to a reader looking for a low-drama, feel-good romance.

Such a fun read! I really enjoyed Jenna's writing. A cute and fun rom com that will have you immersed from cover to cover. Can't wait to read the Jenna's next novel.

This was fun. There are a lot of pop culture references in it that I thought were cute, but also felt like a bit too much at times. I like Frederick, he had an interesting backstory that I do kind of wish we'd gotten more of, but he is a sweet character. I do wish that the main conflict in roughly the last 40 pages hadn't been resolved quite so quickly, with so little fanfare, but this was a quick read that was enjoyable to fly through.

My Roommate is a Vampire by Jenna Levine is an original and fun take on the Vampire Genre. Growing up with the Vampire Lestat as an anchor, I I never thought to look for a new vampire read in the Romantic Comedy section, but this one has left me scouting the shelves for more. This had a wonderful comic irony to all the banter and dialogue that drew me in dispute the pre divinity of the vampire trope, but again that's part of the kitsch of vampire stories that I love.

I did not finish this book. The premise seemed so cute but it was so slow. I think maybe I need a better blend of fantasy or romance, it was too casual.

This was a fun plot and a fun book overall. I will definitely be reading more from Jenna Levine in the future.

In case that cover wasn't hint enough, My Roommate Is A Vampire is the literal epitome of a feel-good rom-com.
Sure, if you're looking for depth or cleverly crafted backstories, you've stumbled upon the wrong novel; and sure, this was very insta-lovey and kind of related heavily on suspension on reality, but who am I to judge?
So, if you're into swoon-worthy romance, zero unnecessary drama, a relatable FMC in her 30s (YAY!), chef's kiss diary entries, hilarious internet search histories, and an anachronistic slash confirmed bi vampire hottie (who looked a suspicious lot like tom ellis in my mind) with a hidden swiftie side and kermit the frog pj pants, this book's your guy.

This book surpassed my expectations! It was funny, REAL, silly and goofy and had me kicking my feet and giggling. The fact that our love interest is a vampire was so so fun and I loved their chemistry! It was more sweet and wholesome than I imagined going it and for that I was pleasantly surprised! Highly recommend this one!

Very cute and very funny! Sometimes you just want a goofy, low-stakes romance, and this totally delivered.

This was cute, but I think I may have hyped it up too much in my head. When I finished it kinda like eating a full-on meal, but still waiting for dessert. I don't think the romance and the story were as developed as they could have been, but I still had fun reading.

This was such an amazing story! Really kept me guessing at what was really going on with this couple. So much drama with plenty of laughter as well. This author really knows how to write a story. You won’t be disappointed. Read and enjoy!

Witty, a little absurd, and very charming. Reminded me a bit of What We Do in the Shadows’ humor but as a romantic comedy.

This was cute! Not bad at all for a debut book (it wasn't obvious from reading that it was a first book, so that's a win if you ask me). It made me laugh out loud more than once, and definitely did remind me of The Flatshare (sharing a space by having opposite schedules--though this time they had their own rooms--and communicating via notes) and What We Do in the Shadows (with Frederick's often awkward attempts to assimilate to modern times--he's not nearly as bad as most of the vampires in the show, though, since he at least does want to learn), and I definitely didn't hate that.

That said, this book is absolutely its own thing--the author has made her own "rules" here, some of which are fairly unique (Frederick's "special talent"--I don't want to spoil it, but I don't think I've seen a talent quite like it in all of my vampire-related media consumption) and others that she's selected from existing lore. Nothing really made me say hey, wait a minute..., at least not any more than the usual (how *do* vampires get a....well, you know...without a beating heart?) and that's not the author's fault, since vampires as a whole don't always make a lot of sense.

The story is from Cassie's POV, but we do get some insight into Frederick's thoughts and feelings with the passages that start each chapter (text messages with a vampire friend, diary entries, and a few other Frederick-adjacent documents) and his notes to Cassie, all of which were a lot of fun. Especially the text threads--those had me LOL more than once. It's never quite clear why Frederick thought he'd be able to find an appropriate human to teach him 21st century survival just through an ad for a roommate, or what specifically about Cassie made him so obsessed with her so quickly--the (undead) heart wants what it wants, I guess.

Cassie and Frederick were really cute together, and although there were some aspects of the plot that felt a little too convenient or a bit obvious, that didn't detract from my enjoyment. Cassie's plan for saving him at the end seems almost *too* easy, but that was part of its charm. Overall this was a cute read and I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for more from this author, whether it's written in this universe or another!
