The beginning of this book was so good and then it just died out? I think this had such great potential and hope to read more by the author!
I wanted to love this book so much more than I did - only having one POV for the whole book threw me for a romance. I definitely prefer to see both sides of the story. Some of the political content was useless to the plot and gave me major eye rolls, but it was over all just a cute story.
In "My Roommate is a Vampire" by Jenna Levine, readers are treated to a delightful blend of romance, humor, and supernatural intrigue. Cassie Greenberg, a struggling artist on the brink of eviction, finds herself drawn into a whirlwind of unexpected events when she moves into a too-good-to-be-true apartment in Chicago. Her new roommate, Frederick J. Fitzwilliam, is far from ordinary—he's a charming vampire with a penchant for leaving heart-melting notes and caring for Cassie's art.
The novel's premise sets the stage for a charming romantic comedy filled with witty banter, heartwarming moments, and a dash of paranormal mystery. As Cassie navigates her unconventional living situation, she finds herself drawn to Frederick despite the obvious complications of his supernatural identity. Their budding romance is both sweet and steamy, with Frederick's old-world charm and Cassie's modern sensibilities creating a captivating dynamic.
The author's clever storytelling and engaging characters make "My Roommate is a Vampire" a joy to read from start to finish. Cassie's relatable struggles and Frederick's mysterious allure add depth to the narrative, while the playful banter between the two leads keeps the story light and entertaining. The revelation of Frederick's true nature and his proposition to Cassie add an intriguing twist to the plot, setting the stage for a compelling romantic journey.
Overall, "My Roommate is a Vampire" is a charming debut that will appeal to fans of both romance and paranormal fiction. With its engaging premise, lovable characters, and witty dialogue, it's sure to leave readers swooning and eagerly anticipating the next installment in the series. Literally one of my favorite reads of the year.
If you’re looking for a funny Rom com to read, look no further, as jenna Levine provides exactly that. Fun and loving characters and even better romance. Even the pop culture references were fun. I loved this so much and can’t wait to pick up the next Jenna Levine book.
A fun, sweet romance. The ending was a bit rushed, and I wish the characters had to work for their happy ending a little more, but overall, a nice time.
What happens when your roommate is a hot vampire? You get a cute story much like this one. The female lead finds out her roommate is a vampire and tries to help him adjust to the new world he wakes up in, only to find that she's falling head over heels for him.
What a stunning debut! This love story is intoxicating start to finish, and truly inspiring in its vastness, I loved every single moment spent with these characters
Delightfully cheesy, “My Roommate is a Vampire” is a quick paranormal rom com that was genuinely humorous and quirky. It follows Cassie, a down on her luck artist that needs a place to live and Frederick, an adorably clueless accidental kumquat conjuror... I mean vampire, who is trying to navigate the modern world. The two characters have great chemistry and banter through their interactions and written notes which kept the book at a quick pace and made me not want to put it down.
I look forward to future books from Levine and would recommend this one to anyone who likes a goofy vampire and a classic rom com.

I absolutely loved and adored this book! This had everything I love to read in a rom-com and even gave the magical element of vampires. This one didn't get very deep but it did have some lessons to learn in the book. I really loved how they grew as individuals as well as a couple. I also liked how the female main character had to be the one to save the male main character instead of the other way around because that's how it is in most books!
Was this book silly? Maybe. Was it entertaining? Absolutely. Would I read it again? Yes.
A great, quick read that was very much entertaining. Loved it!
Thanks Netgalley for allowing me to read this book! The title and this beautiful cover drew me in and i was excited to read this book! I will be recommending this book to others for readers advisory.
I loved this short, quick read! Blew through it in one sitting. I can't wait to read what's next from Jenna Levine!
Its a DNF for me unfortunately, I wasn't expecting anything too amazing but the writing style just wasn't it for me.
I ended up not finishing this book, as it was not for me. I won't be featuring it on my blog. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review.
This book is a fun concept and it was fun to read during Halloween, but it wasn't my favorite romance ever. I think I had trouble getting used to the concept of the vampire in the modern world, so some parts were confusing to me. I recommend if you want a fun, different holiday read during Halloween and if you list books with vampires.

I was soooo amped for this book, and while I wasn't disappointed, I did end up feeling a little meh?
I will say, if you are coming to this book for a silly campy time, you will not be disappointed. It is 1000% goofy, but not to a degree that is offputting, which I really liked!
However, I did have some issues that made me dnf. It's a 1st person POV from only one MC (with text messages from the other MC), and 1st person POV is something I struggle with in romance -- so that was a me issue, not an issue with the book. But I do think that POV made it a little hard to connect with the male MC. I also felt very little chemistry between the MC's -- there's a few awkward scenes between them bc at that point they're literally strangers, but by the time I dnf'ed, I still wasn't buying the build towards a relationship.
Also, in the vein of the campiness, while I think it mainly worked, I felt kinda weird about the male MC's social ineptitude after he reveals that he's been asleep for 100 years. It doesn't so much feel like Unaware Of Modernity, and more like This Guy Is Autistic. Which would be delightful, if it didn't feel like his ineptitude was supposed to be part of the punch line?? Idk. It didn't feel horrible, but it did feel weird.
Overall, if you're into paranormal romance with 1st person POV, this might be up your alley. I didn't dislike it, but I didn't love it either. But I do think there are readers who it would delight!
I love paranormal romances, but I haven't read a romcom one until now. It was a fun romp to read! I enjoyed the characters and dialogue.
A super cute paranormal rom-com that answers the question “How do you get a love interest who acts like Mr. Darcy into a 21st century romance?” (The answer: make your MMC a vampire who’s been asleep for the last 100+ years.) There is much historical romance- and Kdrama-esque pining (and our MMC even says at one point that he got his wardrobe inspiration from watching Crash Landing on You). This makes for a pretty G-rated romance aside from one scene around the 80% mark. Overall, an enjoyable piece of fluff.
This is more of a 3.5. I feel like the side plot with his family got a little off the rails. Also the idea of such a cheap apartment not giving her red flags just threw me off the story right away. I know its about vampires so not realistic but it was just such a weird occurrence that I couldn't take it serious.
