Cassie is an artist, but it's hard to make a living. Risking an eviction, she's desperate when she finds an apartment in a beautiful Chicago neighborhood. She's sure there's a catch, with that price, but she has not other choice to accept. Her new roomate is a bit weird too. Frederick J. Fitzwilliam sleeps all day, stays out all night and talks like he's come out of a Regency novel. He's also pretty kind to her, asking about her day and art. Also he's not bad looking. But when Cassie finds bags of blood in the fridge, Frederick has to admit he's a vamprie, turning her life upside down.

My roomate is a vampire is a cute romantic comedy and I really liked reading it. I loved the relationship between Cassie and Frederick and it was really a quick read, but it didn't capture my attention so much. This is a cute story and a funny one, but I found it slightly predictable and a fast one.
I'm sorry to say, I wasn't so impressed, but for those who are looking for a cute and funny book, this could be for you!

This is a longer-than-usual review. lol

In this book, we follow Cassie and Frederick. Cassie is an artist who is currently struggling to find a steady job. She has just been evicted from her apartment, so she stumbles upon this too good to be the real deal on Craigslist. Fredrick is looking for a roommate, not for financial purposes but to study them. At first, Fredrick thinks Cassie is a wrong choice; but after a while, they start getting used to each other (especially once Cassie discovers the truth).

Overall, I loved the concept but there were a few things that threw me off. For starters, I couldn't get with the writing style. The climax happened and it kind of just ended too fast. Like everything was resolved easily and it threw me so off, the next thing I knew the book was over. As I mentioned, I liked the concept but I feel like it wasn't executed well.

Besides that, this story was a cute fast funny read. I found myself laughing a lot. I wish there was more of Reginald!! Frederick's interactions with Cassie at the beginning were hilarious and I just loved the amount of humor that was in this book. :)

This one was so adorable! I didn't think it was anything super special, but as a spooky season romance it was perfect! I love a vampire story and I loved the lore in this one. It's always helpful when the vampire rules resemble those of books/movies/TV shows we already know and love! This story was pure fun and I loved how fast-paced it was.

One thing I can absolutely confirm is that any Reylo-Fic-Turned-Published-Book is bound to be good. While cheesy and fluffy, sometimes that’s all you need from a romance without anything deep. I found this book to be utterly charming and highly amusing. The romance is slow-burn, but the wait is incredibly rewarding, thanks to the delightful blend of emotion, wit, and tenderness that permeates this exceptionally heartwarming and emotive love story.

This was such a fun read. I laughed out loud so many times. It was just what I was looking for in a vampire rom-com.

Frederick J. Fitzwilliam might just be my new favorite literary vampire. This book was such a joy to read. It made me literally laugh out loud several times. This was such a fun read, and an absolute must read for spooky season. This is a phenomenal debut, and I cannot wait to read anything else that Jenna Levine writes! All the stars

Such a fun read. I am giving it a 3.5 rounded to 4 because it was a silly, good time. I do have questions that were left unanswered like how did Fredrick turn?!
The main female character started off likeable but ended up a bit obnoxious and possessive. I would definitely recommend it to someone looking for a fun and quick read.

Looking for a new apartment, Cassie Greenberg stumbles upon a deal that's too good to be true. But beggars can't be choosers, so she moves in with her suspiciously affordable roommate, Frederick J. Fitzwilliam. He's not your average roommate. He sleeps during the day, conducts mysterious nocturnal activities, and speaks like he just stepped out of a Regency romance novel. And, oh btw, he's a vampire.

This was such a delightful, fun romcom! Do you need to suspend reality a bit? For sure, but it’s totally worth it. While the romance is central, what truly stole the show was Frederick, our charming vampire roomie with a penchant for old-world manners. His innocence in navigating the modern world and his earnest curiosity about everything had me giggling throughout.

Frederick’s character definitely steals the spotlight a bit from his human counterpart and object of fascination, Cassie, but she was still a great FMC. She goes through her own share of character growth and self-discovery and ends up being Frederick’s knight in shining armor. Which is obviously badass in and of itself.

The slow-burn romance here is SO sweet! Cassie's into Frederick from the get-go, but the story takes its time. Their sweet moments, especially when Frederick's learning the ropes of the human world, are downright heart-melting.

Jenna Levine did such a great job bringing the MCs to life and blending paranormal elements into this contemporary slow-burn romcom. And as a debut novel? *Chef’s kiss* I definitely recommend picking this one up for the spooky season or anytime you’re in the mood for a lighthearted, quirky romcom. I can’t wait to see what this author will write next!

Cassie is an artist who is down on her luck and being evicted from her apartment. Fredrick is a vampire who has been an a 100 year coma, who wants a roommate to teach him about the modern world. Sounds like a match!

I very much so enjoy vampires of any sort, so I knew I wanted to read this right away! This was super cute. I loved watching Fredrick try to navigate communicating with humans, the internet, and ordering coffee. He was precious. He and Cassie had their cute moments and this satisfied the rom-com reading my brain needed.

Cassie wasn't my favorite character, but I think she just lacked some depth. Her character was very surface level. I also would have liked to know more about Fredrick as well. I don't feel like you really got to know the characters much more than the basics. There were also spots in the story that didn't seem to fit or felt off for some reason or another.

All that being said, I thought this was a good debut, and I look forward to the authors future works!

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Hadn't anticipated how much swooning and instalove would be involved, but thankfully a very humorous and whimsical read.

I love, love, LOVED this book! I am trying to convince my friends to go pick up this book and read it. The spice in this book did not disappoint at all. Frederick's very vampiric ways and how they clashed with the modern world had me rolling with laughter. I loved it so much that I'm ordering it for my library.

I'm not going to lie this one was a little on the cheesy side. But as someone who was a Buffy stan since the 90s I knew I had to give this one a try. And I did enjoy it. It kept my interest and it was funny. And I mean when the hero the vampire is from regency England it's kind of like seeing either Mr. Darcy or Mr. Knightly as a vampire.

It sounded cute from the beginning but it only got more endearing as the story progressed. I thought it was a great portrayal of an "old world" gentleman, leaving handwritten notes and trying to anticipate comforts for her.

I can't say that I particularly enjoyed this one. There wasn't really a point to the plot since it just lacked any and all substance.

Quick synopsis’: Charming, positive, and creative Cassie is on the verge of being evicted. She loves her live as a creative. She’s an artist through and through, but unfortunately, it’s not paying her bills.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place, Cassie is dumbstruck when she sees an advert for a roommate and an incredibly low price in a highly sought after area. Certain it’s a scam, but our of options, Cassie decides to go.

Fredrick is an unusual man. His demeanor is prim and proper. Perhaps stiff is the most accurate way to describe him. While a bit odd, he seems generally pleasant and non-threatening as a roommate, so Cassie goes for it.

What ensues is worth reading for yourself. Cassie starts to notice some unusual behaviors from Fredrick. The hours he keeps, the weird rule about not going in the closet, and what’s the deal with his particular friend? On top of all that, his apartment is filled with anachronisms and their newer versions seem to baffle Fredrick.

I read this book little by little. I feel in love with Cassie’s love of the arts and her ability to see beauty in the gifts Mother Nature has to offer us. Her appreciation and gratitude felt so authentic. It reminded me to be more attentive to “the little things”, because in fact they are quite significant and beautiful.

Thank you to Berkeley Romance and PRH Audio for granting me access to the ebook and audiobook of this title!

My Roommate Is a Vampire by Jenna Levine is campy, hilarious, and perfect for fans of all things vampiric. Cassie, a struggling artist, needs a new place to live, and Frederick J. Fitzwilliam has a room available--for only $200 a month. It is definitely too good to be true, but she's desperate. Turns out, Frederick is not exactly your normal, run-of-the-mill roommate. He just happens to be a vampire, and he needs her help.

If you love Buffy, Vampire Academy, and/or Twilight, you will love this romance that absolutely doesn't take itself seriously. Frederick J. Fitzwilliam is a vampire who doesn't drink from the source--only ethically sourced blood bags--and he's been in what amounts to a vampiric coma for a hundred years. The world has changed dramatically and he needs Cassie's help navigating the 21st century. Neither one of them expects to develop feelings, but that's exactly what happens. Then his super-traditional vampire mom gets involved, there's a kidnapping, and a rescue plot, and eventually a happy ever after. It had me cackling late into the night.

My Roommate Is a Vampire is a delightful, not-so-spooky romance, perfect for fall. I loved every second of it. I couldn't put it down. 4.5/5 stars

This book was so swoon worthy and adorable and perfect for the season! I started this one a while back and picked it back up when a friend recommended I finish it because she read and loved and was so right! I loved the character development and the banter! The added element of Fredrick being from the past was just perfect! We recommend this book to our customers daily!

If you go into this expecting a wonderous romance, you’re not gonna have a good time. If you go in like you are getting ready to watch trash tv and the angsty 90s shows, you will fit right in. It’s cheesy, but entertaining. It’s angsty and eye rolling and dramatic. It is a slow burn with one spicy scene in it. I didn’t feel a whole lot of chemistry between the main characters. It kinda read like a parody of a vampire romance? I didn’t hate it, I didn’t love it 🤷🏼‍♀️

Cassie is broke as a joke and getting evicted. Instead of letting anyone she knows help her out, she answers a Craigslist ad for an amazing apartment that needs a roommate in a great location in Chicago for $200. Nothing sketchy at all about that. She blows last all the red flags and then seems surprised when she opens the fridge to find bags of blood. I mean, the dude didn’t have cookware, dishes or a trash can. But whatevs.

This book was charming and funny, but fell flat in a few ways. The little notes and texts were fun, but the fish-out-of-water premise didn't entirely pay off. It could have worked better as more of a subplot, that comes through in snippets or vignettes, instead of the basis for this sweet but lackluster relationship.

***DNF at 29%***

This was a DNF for me.

I love vampire books, and I love when the character is quirky because they are a vampire...but the way the author wrote the hero made him seem clueless and a little dim-witted and I just couldn't find him attractive.
