Thank you to Netgalley and Monster House Books for allowing me to read this book.
Violins and Vampires is a great example of one of the issues I have with seralizations. They are often meant to be read as a whole instead of being broken up. I felt like I would have enjoyed it more if I read it all together. The world was very interesting. I thought Violins and Vampires was an unique take on vampires. Overall I am looking forward to readin the next book.

Violins and Vampires is a fun read written from the perspective of an unexpected heroine. The journey starts in Ancient Scotland and transports to you present day New York City.
It is refreshing to see the Heroine’s character revel herself and her power as the book progresses. The world-building is excellent and the heroine is both fun and sassy!
Looking forward to the second installment!
This is a fantastic start to a new series! The author is one that I have loved for many years just under a new pen name. I honestly couldn’t put it down because the story just sucked me in and wouldn’t let go. I can’t wait for the next one!
While reading this, i felt like it was stretched out beyond its capacity. It would have served better as a short story than as it is now. There seemed to be conflicts in writing style, especially where an 11 year old seemed more mature and planned out than some of the adults did. The overall premise seemed so promising however the execution was lacking.
Thank you for the ARC of this book! I think that this book could’ve been structured in a much better way that would’ve made it a lot more interesting - it was structured so that we get all the characters backstories and secrets even they don’t know about all at once at the start of the story, rather than revealing these things throughout the story the author dumped all this information about the characters backstories (with a bunch of chapters taking place in the past) all at once, and then moving on to the present day (which for me made the book very boring to read). I feel like if the author had revealed the backstories slowly in between present day chapters it would’ve made the characters easier to connect with and for the reader to actually care about them.
Moreover, if the author had revealed the secrets about the characters that they hadn’t even known nearer the end (rather than at the start of the book) after hinting at them throughout, I feel like the book would’ve been way more interesting and it would have been the perfect chance for a plot twist & easy way to add much more intrigue to the plot.
Also there wasn’t much character or romance development - I feel like this book should’ve been combined with the sequel to it maybe (since it is so short) and that would’ve given a chance for more character development. The love interest felt a bit bland and could’ve been a bit more developed in my opinion - or at least something was lacking.
Furthermore the romance wasn’t executed very well - the characters interacted once and suddenly knew everything about what they liked about each other and suddenly would die for each other - I understand the initial being drawn to each other after one interaction but the sudden somehow knowing everything about each other made the romance fall very flat for me
I think that this book also needed a lot more explaining of the vampire/daemon stuff as it got kind of confusing - more world building would’ve made this an easier read.
Thank you for the ARC of this book again!
Thank you to Netgalley, Monster House Book and Cee Bee for an opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book. I really enjoyed this book and finished it in one day. As soon as I read the synopsis and read that it was about vampires I was hooked, I love vampire books. Violins and Vampires is the first book in a series and I can’t wait for the next book to come out.
"Violins and Vampires - Extended Edition" by Cee Bee mixes Outlander, Dark Prince, primal attraction, and vampire romance. Lexa Uznetsov and Caelin MacGregor, two key characters, strive and are pulled together by fate.
Lexa's life is a mob stakeout due to her father's large debt to New York Bratva boss Konstantin the Rus. She begs Empire Investments CEO Caelin for help. Caelin, a lost Bloodkin vampire king, has been alone for a thousand years until he meets Lexa.
The author has created a fascinating universe of vampires with unique abilities and magic, and the protagonists have great chemistry. The extended edition of the novel explores the characters and their origins, helping readers comprehend their motivations and desires.
The plot is captivating and the story is well-paced. Lexa and Caelin's romance is hot and dangerous, making it the perfect mix of romance and suspense.
"Violins and Vampires - Expanded Edition" is a well-written and engaging paranormal romance and fantasy tale. Highly recommended for its well-developed characters, deep world-building, and interesting plot.
Overall, "Violins and Vampires - Extended Edition" is a well-written and entertaining novel that is sure to captivate readers who enjoy paranormal romance and fantasy. The characters are well-developed, the world-building is immersive, and the plot is engaging, making it a highly recommended read.
4/5 Stars from me.

The premise of this book was really interesting, but the writing style was definitely not for me. The eleven year old girl’s point of view felt more mature than the grown king’s point of view, and I just really didn’t like the author’s tone of writing. I can definitely see how people would enjoy this though, as the story was pretty interesting otherwise.
* Thank you to Cee Bee, the Publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a E-ARC of "Violins and Vampires" in exchange for an honest review *
I thought that this was creative. That cover is gorgeous as well. I'd I had any complaints, It would be that VAV suffered from being too short. I didn't get as much story as I wanted, not enough to determine if I'd continue with the series.
Caelin has been alone for many, many years until he meets Lexa…, not to give anything away… but of course they met and fall in love despite themselves.
Love this fun story. It has wonderful characters, a terrific plot with a lot of emphasis on romance. Enjoyed it very much.
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked it so much I couldn't put it down. I read some of the previous reviews and I was a little worried that it might be a dud. I think there must have been some editing since then, because the book ended at a cliffhanger. I cannot Wait to read the next book. If you like vampire stories, I think you'll love this book!
I'm not sure what I expected, but an easy entertaining read wasn't it. I'm so glad I was wrong! There seems nothing in characterization, setting, or plot which is remarkable, but I thoroughly enjoy when a book is pure entertainment and no work to read. I'm so glad I was able to read this, and I will continue the series.
Thank you to the publishers for letting me get a read of this novel!
I won’t lie, the beginning of this novel was very confusing. I think the book could have been structured a bit better. Instead of starting so long ago and then bopping into a new reality, it would have been really interesting and I think far easier to get into the story if the book had actually started with the modern day story. Letting that air of mystery would have really kept me intrigued but, instead, I was a bit bummed that I knew immediately what was going on; especially when the story is so fascinating and could have had a much bigger twist moment towards the end. If given a bit more time and a bit of cleaning up, it could really hold a flame to some of the bigger vampire fantasies out there.
One thing I wish there had been more of was character growth. We got to see a little bit of Lexa’s personality but I wanted more of it. I wanted more of their home life and more of the building to action. Unfortunately, it fell flat in that aspect. The story went right into the action and gave no reprieve for us to really understand the characters and why they were behaving a certain way.
I think this story was a fun ride but I am not positive I will be picking up book number two.
It started off strong with an interesting premise and intriguing characters, but the delivery fell a little flat for me. The intervening years between childhood and adulthood were unnecessary and made it hard to view Lexa as an adult. Too much stuff jumped around and it felt like it ended too abruptly. Probably wouldnt read it again or look for the next ones unfortunately.
This book had a lot of potential, but I don't feel like it was delivered. I expected more, especially as it is being re-released. The story was interesting, but I think it could have been more concise and the characters could have been more developed. I also feel is if the mythology could have been more fleshed out.
This book was such a great read!! The plot was so full of adventure and intrigue that I devoured the book in one setting. The author did an amazing job developing relatable characters and keeping the story going without it lagging. It was such a great read that I will be recommending this book to everyone.
