I quite enjoyed this book. It's the first novel in the series and it did a great job at being the foundation block of the series. If you're looking for a short and fantastical read, you'll probably like this book. I love how the author mixed fantasy world with actual historical time period. The novel had several povs which allowed me to easily follow the plot of the book. The characters were diverse and interesting. I'm definitely looking forward to the second installment.

I'm not sure if I should bother with a review on my social medias, cause it is bad. The story has potential, but the writing style is killing it. There is no joy in reading this book. The author is merely stating facts, writing without passion, some sentences don't make sense, and the story feels pieced together, rushed, and written for the sake of writing, without knowing how to actually write. I made it about a third of the way through, while having a laugh with my husband about the inconsistencies and the unnecessary fast pace.
