Thank you for providing me the opportunity to review “The Borthers Crunk". I am appreciative and leave my sincerity review voluntarily.
Another amazing offering from William Pauley III - A short horror/ sci-f tale of 2 cannibalistic brothers in a dystopian universe.
Divey Crunk and Reynold Crunk are brothers, unfortunately Reynold doesn’t have many braincells to rub together and so is a huge liability. The story is linear but, only in the manner of a fever dream, every time you think it can’t get much weirder, turns out you’re wrong!
The characters are fun and creative with nods to video games and film (I am getting serious Mad Max vibes throughout) sprinkled with steam punk. If you are into dystopian fiction and horror with the fun of robots and other futuristic beings, then this is for you.
Connor Brannigan is fantastic as usual. As a London native, I must say I am impressed with the Cockney accents, often they are very Dick Van Dyke and make me cringe inside terribly, but these were actually very good and believable!
I would love to have a peek inside William Pauley III’s mind but I would also be terrified to find out what I would see. He has one of the most unique and haunting writing styles that can make some of the darkest scenes beautiful.
The Brothers Crunk is an old-school video game fever dream. There are so many references that I couldn’t stop smiling. From using an NES Zapper as a real gun to imputing the famous Konami code on a controller that is inside their own arm.
It seems every one of Pauley's works just needs to be experienced. Go in knowing nothing and be prepared to be creeped out and mind blown with all the terrifying gory details.
William Pauley III is the best there is in creative horror writing. Check out this book and any other book by Pauley.

I’m in awe. This story by William Pauley III is masterfully written and any fan of true horror will appreciate the graphic details! Connor Brannigan completely encompasses this narration and his Australian accent really brings the brothers to life! And as always, the horror of the story is balanced out by overwhelming humor that never fails to put a smile on my face! Highly recommend, just don’t try the jerky!!!
I really do enjoy books written by this author. They’re very creative and entertaining. This one was definitely bizarre - almost like a horror satire. I was not as engaged in the plot as I am for most of his other stories but I definitely enjoyed listening. These short stories are perfect for me because I am able to easily pay attention. Also the narration is very enjoyable. I will continue to read books by this author. However, it seems I generally enjoy his creepy horror ballads the most.
