Oh no! Donna has announced that this 16th book of the Reapers is the last one of the series. So sad to see the end of Erith's stories and all of her Reapers. In this final story it is Aisling who meets her match. In every sense of the word. Lena has gotten stronger and stronger and after the last showdown in Dark Alpha's Command, it became clear that there is a risk she will be able to stronger than even Erith and the Dark Kings. Enter Xaneth. After being tortured by his aunt Usaeil (yep, the one and only), he has changed. However, no one knows into what or what powers he now has. But Lena seems to fear him. She is, however, focused on capturing Aisling. And that is something Xaneth will not allow. Although he wants to keep his distance from everyone,
Aisling has gotten under his skin. As you have read the whole series (if not, I would highly recommend it you have already seen how there has been a growing tension between Aisling and Xaneth). Furthermore, I was delighted to see Xaneth finally getting some happiness. After enduring all the suffering throughout the series, I really hoped he would get his own story.
And what a story it is! Hang on tight, because the HEA will take some time. Lena will have some tricks up her sleeve. In all, a wonderful and epic ending of the Reapers series. And I was very happy with Donna's comments on how she will continue with stories in the Dark world and the world of the Druids. Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
A big thank you to NetGalley and DL Grant, LLC for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the end of the series. This is Xaneth and Aisling's story. I think that these should be read in order, as otherwise it could be ocnfusing. There are a lot of characters to remember. Balance of good and evil is finally (for the time being) restored. 3 stars
The final book in this series was just as exciting as the other two. Loved all the action and mystery.

Though a part of the Reaper series, this book can be read as a standalone. This is Xaneth and Aisling's story. A tale of want to be lover's kept at Bay from each other by an evil force and one wanting to protect the other. Ms. Grant pulls out all stops as she pulls you into the Reaper world.
Loved reading the mesmerizing and engaging paranormal story. Xaneth feels the only thing he is destined to do is to eliminate evil and Lena, but when Aisling keeps finding Xaneth, he finds himself more and more unable to not want Aisling. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting love story. Can't wait to read another captivating story by the phenomenal author, Donna Grant!
Thank you to NetGalley and DL Grant LLC for allowing me to read this ARC copy of Dark Alph’s Fury.
Dark Alpha’s Fury is the 16th and final book in the Reaper series. I hadn’t read any other books in this series so I was a bit lost in the beginning but, that being said, I didn’t think it is necessary to read all of them to understand this book.
This is the story of how Xaneth and Aisling teaming up to end the evil Lena once and for all. Xaneth couldn’t get Aisling out of his mind no matter how hard he tried, even after telling her to stay away. Aisling couldn’t stop finding Xaneth, she new he needed her help to battle Lena. The battle of good versus evil was fantastic. Xaneth had this beast inside of him that he was terrified of unleashing in front of Aisling, but she loved him for who he was, and wanted him to embrace his whole true self.
I loved how persistent and strong Aisling was, she knew she was risking her life to use herself as bait for Lena, but she wouldn’t let Xaneth fight her on his own.
The only think I didn’t like was that it was written in third person, I’m not sure why, but I feel like I can connect best with the story when it’s in first person. It was still very well written!
4.25 stars— DARK ALPHA’S FURY is the sixteenth and final instalment in Donna Grant’s contemporary, adult REAPER paranormal, fantasy romance series -a spin off from the author’s Dark Kings series, which is a spinoff from Donna Grant’s DARK WARRIOR series which in turn is a spin off from the author’s DARK SWORD series- all set in the Highlands of Scotland. This is Light Fae Xaneth and Reaper Aisling’s story line. DARK ALPHA’S FURY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is a continuing premise throughout. Xaneth is Queen Usaeil’s nephew, and his story begins in the Dark Kings series.
SOME BACKGROUND: The Reapers (believed to be a folk lore amongst the Fae) are a group of Dark and Light Fae who have been betrayed by someone in their past life, selected by Death (aka Erith), on their own deathbed, to do her bidding-Death is the judge and jury; the Reapers are the executioners. The Reapers are not harbingers of death but are tasked with destroying the Light and Dark Fae who have crossed a line from which there is no return. All Reapers must follow two rules: never to fall in love; and never to reveal their existence to anyone but a group known as the Others, have declared themselves the rulers of the Fae, and their next ‘mission’ is to take down the Reapers, having failed to destroy the Dark Kings.
NOTE: If you have not read any of the previous story lines or series, there may be spoilers in my review.
Told from several third person perspectives including Xaneth and Aisling DARK ALPHA’S FURY focuses on the search for the Light Fae Xaneth. Xaneth, nephew of Dark Fae Queen Usaeil has been missing for months, a prisoner of his aunt who had Xaneth tortured from within. Upon the death of Usaeil, and Xaneth’s escape, our hero has been a one-man assassin, searching for evil in the wake of Lena and the Fae Others battling for ultimate control. Lena, the leader of the Others, has the ability to absorb magic from anyone using the magic near or in her presence, and as such as set her sights on the Fae, and ultimately the Reapers and the Dragon Kings. Xaneth is determined to take down Lena and the Others but refuses any help from the woman with whom he has fallen in love. Aisling has been searching for months for our story line hero. Their connection is soul deep but Xaneth struggles with what he has become, a beast he no longer recognizes, a beast that has the ability to destroy that which he deems to be evil. Aisling refuses to let Xaneth fight the Others on his own, and with the help of the Reapers sets into motion a plan to beat Lena at her own game. What ensues is the building relationship between Aisling and Xaneth, as our couple place themselves in the direct line of fire in an effort to dismantle the Others, and take down the woman in charge.
The relationship between Xaneth and Aisling has been building throughout both the Dark Kings, and the Reapers series. Usaeil, in an effort to kill her entire family, imprisoned Xaneth, leaving him alone, lost in his own mind. Months of torture and unaware of how or why, Xaneth would eventually escape, knowing he was no longer the man or the Fae he once was but has become something more, with the ability to detect and ‘smell’ evil. Aisling has been searching for Xaneth on her own, with the permission of Erith, forgoing her duties as a member of the Reapers. When the Dragon Kings were unable to locate or rescue Xaneth, Aisling knew she would be the only one to locate the man with whom she was falling in love. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.
There is a large ensemble cast of powerful, colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including most of the previous couples introduced in the Reapers series, as well as Ulrik, King of the Silver Dragons, and Guy, King of the Red Dragons; Death aka Erith and her mate Cael, and Lena, the leader of the Others.
DARK ALPHA’S FURY is a detailed, complex and satisfying conclusion to Donna Grant’s REAPER series but the author has revealed the characters will continue to appear in the new spin-offs including the DRAGON KINGS and the SKYE DRUIDS series. The fast paced premise is action packed, heart breaking and emotional; the romance is seductive but struggles in the face of fear and misunderstanding; the characters are charismatic and determined.

This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was steamy, fun, action packed and kept me reading. I enjoyed this book and will definitely read more books by this author.
This is the final book of the Reapers series and it can be read as a standalone. Xaneth and Aisling are great characters with loads of depth and intense chemistry. The world building is excellent and the story draws you in from beginning to end. Loads of drama and emotion as we say goodbye to this excellent series. I loved it.
I went into this with relatively high expectations specifically because I was very curious about Xaneth. Admittedly, many of the last books in this series and the Dragon King series have really dragged for me because they've just become so overly heavy with romance and the constant repeating of how perfect the other person is with very little action, that I've come to not expect much excitement. But I thought for sure, with this being the last book in this series, it has to be good. Should have known better considering the disaster that was Con's book. Now, I'm not saying this was bad by any means. Hell, it was definitely better than Con's. But it took almost 60% of the book for anything to really happen. Up until that point it was mostly Aisling trying to convince Xaneth that he was not a monster, and Xaneth (still) fighting everything he felt for Aisling.
I won't say that the huge chunk of the book we get where Xaneth and Aisling finally get close to one another was boring. There are fights and they also fall into a deadly trap of Lena's. But the fights are quick, and the trap really only had one time where anything happened. Interesting, yes. But exciting, no. Hearing about what Xaneth had gone thru for his whole life and during his torture was mildly interesting, but I don't feel that we really learned anything new about him. As for Aisling's past, hers was definitely completely different than any of the others. Nothing at all what I expected. Especially when she had made a point of saying that she was Dark because she had killed people.
The book finally picked up when Xaneth and Reapers decide on a plan and go after Lena. I was kind of surprised in the way that Aisling decided to use herself as bait in the way she did. Her plan actually takes her out of the fight, which is new. What happens to her was neat in a horrible sort of way because it was unique and she didn't even know it was happening to her. Xaneth's fight against Lena was good, not great, but good. I liked what he did to corner her even if he didn't expect her to be able to fight like she could. While Xaneth is fighting her, the Reapers take on her soldiers. And there were a lot of soldiers. One thing that got my attention though was that at one point, Erith simply waved her hand and a bunch of them fell dead. So if she could do that, why did she only do it the one time?
It's no spoiler to say that this group wins the day. It takes a while, but Aisling is also rescued before it was too late for her. But Xaneth makes a stupid, stupid decision that causes serious drama and suffering between him and Aisling. All because he's still determined to wipe out all remnants of the others, wants to find out what he is, and STILL doesn't think he deserves to be/can be around others. Men....
As for what Xaneth has become....I don't really get it. Like, how does any of it have to do with each other? (view spoiler) I'm not saying I don't like it, his power was kind of neat. And it definitely could have been something really stupid. It just didn't make sense.
Overall, this wasn't a bad way to end things. It wasn't at all what I was hoping for, but I'll take it anyway.
The end doesn't disappoint! Xaneth and Aisling's story. With the help of the Dragon Kings and other Reapers, it is time to take Lena down. Even though this is the final book, there are still surprises to learn and Xaneth learns more about himself. An epic battle that is all you could wish for.
Definitely a one-sitting read!
WOW this is a book that will drag every emotion out of you If you have been following the series then you knew that Xenith and Aisling had tragedies in their pasts but boy talk about dragging it out and giving us a emotional roller coaster . This is one book that once you start it would take an apocalypse for you to put it down. Yes we do get to visit with some previous characters This is a fitting end to a wonderful series
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me an ARC in exchange for my honest review! This was my first book by Donna Grant and it did not disappoint! A very captivating storyline with lots of wonderful characters. Xaneth and Aisling have such a strong connection and can’t stay away from each other. Somewhat of an unrequited love story between both of them, with both of them wanting the other with such intensity while thinking their feelings are not reciprocated. And when they finally admit their feelings for each other!! It’s SO good! The war that Xaneth and Aisling are fighting in, along with Death and her Reapers, is intense with multiple battles being fought throughout the book. This book is jam packed full of action and fighting scenes. It’s a wild ride from beginning to end with a heartwarming happily ever after! I will definitely be reading Donna Grant’s books from here on out!
This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.
Yes, I have been looking for Xaneth's story and Aisling! So happy that the author decided to give them a book!!
Lena has been growing stronger and stronger and now the Reapers are wondering if they are strong enough to defeat her before she ends the Dragon Kings, Light Fae, and humans.
This book is non-stop action and attraction as Xaneth does not think he will survive the encounter with Lena and also doesn't feel like he deserves Aisling.
Good thing Aisling is tough! Also, loved the mystery about what Xaneth actually was!
Great wrap up to stopping Lena and letting all the Reapers have their HEA. I could not put this book down and stayed up late to finish reading it!
Xanath and Aisling finally get their chance at romance! But it's more than that as they team up together to face off against Lena. Lena's goal is to lead the Fae and conquer the world and she's been gaining the power to do just that. Unlike several of the other major battles in Donna Grant's Dark Universe, this one is Xanath and Aisling against Lena, one on one. They do have back-up (the rest of the Reapers along with several Dragon Kings and their druid spouses) which is a good thing for Aisling. But as Xanath releases the monster within, he must face some unsettling truths about his being more than just a Fae. There are several unexpected twists as the story progresses.
While Dark Alpha's Fury may be the last book in the Reapers series, it ends with hints of how it will tie in with Donna Grant's newest series, Skye Druids. We haven't yet seen the last of Xanath, Aisling, and the rest of the Reapers!
I loved Aislings and Xaneth story, once again the reapers set out to end the rain of the dark Fay others. But is this a fight they can win? Xaneth has abilities that aren’t normal for a Fay., but are the deadly for Aisling?
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley.the opinions expressed in this review are completely my own
Dark Alpha's Fury by Donna Grant
I loved this book - but I'm very sad because it is the last book in this series. Donna saved the best for last Xaneth and Aisling are a fantastic couple. So much baggage and angst for both of them. Wonderful friends/teammates, evil, suspense, terror, tearjerker, steam and a wonderful HEA. I am looking forward to SHOULDER OF THE SKYE.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Action-packed Easy-to-read Entertaining Great world building Haunting Happily Ever After Informative Page-turne Romantic Steamy Tear-jerker Tragic Unpredictable Witty Wonderful characters.
What a great ending to a wonderful group of characters. I will miss the series. Xanneth and Aisling did not disappoint and the tale and some surprising twists. Aisling was strong and Xanneth the tortured hero go through even more obstacles finding the love the both deserve.
Yes! Yes, yes, yes!! This this is hot and I needed this!! Totally obsessed with this!!

This is the 16th book of Reaper series and the last o this series, to understand the story need to read previous book. My first in this series and this book is good, i really enjoy the story! Author explain what happend in previous books so I understand the main theme in this book. This book about Fae realm, there is battle between good and evil who able to disrupted the balance of the universe. I jealous with Xaneth and Aisling relationship! I cheer when Xaneth stop avoiding his feeling to Aisling and accept it. I adore how Aisling accept what Xaneth become and talk to him about brace it not push his power away.
