The Holiday Mix-Up was a delightful easy holiday romance to read. The characters are well-rounded, and I appreciated the way characters' backgrounds were revealed and developed throughout the book's entirety. I found myself rooting for all characters' problems to get resolved, regardless of the magnitude of those problems.
While most holiday romances focus primarily on the budding relationship and tension between the main characters, Ginny Baird did an enjoyable job of including the supporting characters, like Abuela and Abuelo, into the plot in a playful and integral way.
Katie and Mateo propelled the story forward through their own morals as well as their family histories and complexities during the Christmas season. I liked the way that their differences naturally happened and strengthened their overall understanding of one another. This is a very slow burn romance, and I'd like to see a bit more romance prior to the very ending. I also would have liked a more complex resolution between all the characters rather than what was delivered in the last few chapters and later in the epilogue.
Overall I really enjoyed this book, and I appreciate NetGalley for providing me an advanced copy in exchange for my review and opinion.

The Holiday Mix-Up was decent! I wasn’t sure at first if I liked it or not but it ended up alright for me. Would recommend if you like holiday romances and fake dating, otherwise skip it.

I Voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced copy of this book. All Thoughts and opinions are my own.
I love cute holiday reads. This did not disappoint.

I will always have a special place in my heart for the movie, While You Were Sleeping.
When I saw The Holiday Mix-Up on NetGalley and the blurb mentions this all-time Sandra Bullock classic, of course I had to request it!
It did not disappoint! Loved it!
It has a passing resemblance to the movie, and actually covers some of those peaky plot points that you kind of had to suspend belief over with Sandra Bullock's character. I think I almost prefer Mateo and Katie. Juan is definitely a better coma guy.
Plus, it has all the requisite holiday romance moments that I expect and crave for the season.
I had not read anything by Ginny Baird before, but realized I have another of her books on my Audible Plus TBR. So really looking forward to reading more of her work now.

If you liked While You Were Sleeping, grab a copy of this book! The vineyard setting was wonderful and I loved the characters. It was nice to read a holiday romance with Latinx main characters. Definitely a holiday read to add to your shelf this year.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book.

This book was absolutely delightful!! Katie is finally asked to a family Christmas celebration by her crush…as a fake girlfriend to get his matchmaking family off his back. She promises to keep their secret, even after a tragic accident lands him in a coma and she must keep the act up with his family. The only problem is she learns more and more about Juan that she realizes he’s not the man for her, but his brother Mateo is!! The family was sweet and welcoming and you could feel their love as they brought Katie into their family and navigated some scary situations! This book will be the hit of the holiday season!!

Very enjoyable holiday romcom. I enjoyed the close-knit Latin family. Cute and light read with entertaining characters.

I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.

I am maybe the biggest While You Were Sleeping fan ever. I was sold the second I saw that comparison in the blurb. I loved Katie and Mateo's story. I laughed out loud several times, making me husband ask me what I was reading. I loved this book so much, I'll be buying copies for my friends for stocking stuffers.

You wouldn’t think a book about someone ending up in a coma would be something fun and lighthearted to read for the holiday season, but alas! The Holiday Mix-Up is just that.
Not to sound like a broken record amongst the other reviews, but if you enjoyed the movie While You Were Sleeping, you will likely enjoy this book. The plot is the same, the dynamics are just slightly different.
So, on to the important questions-
Is there a swoon worthy MC? Yup. Meet Juan.
Is the FMC sweet, naive, and overeager to help? WHY SURE. Insert Katie.
What about a super swoon worthy brother? Yes, duh. Here we have Mateo.
Will there be a hospital reunion on Christmas? Why, yes..yes there will be! Christmas trees and IVs, if you please 🎄💉
And lastly, will livelihood of the family winery be at stake after secrets are spilled from the hospital bed? YOU BET YOUR FESTIVE BOOTY IT WILL.
A fun, easy, festive read that will pair up well with a glass of wine during the holiday season.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read the e-arc in exchange for a review!

This is "While You Were Sleeping", set in a vineyard and starring a waitress instead of a train station operator. There is nothing more to say. If you didn’t enjoy that movie, you won’t enjoy this book.
Super lightweight, this can easily be finished in under an hour.
Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in return for my honest opinions.

An enjoyable and festive novel featuring Puertorican characters. Well plotted, engrossing, heartwarming and a bit moving at times
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine

I really enjoyed this Christmas book. I like how it set the scene pretty quickly. This was a quick read with family drama (but done well) and lots of intriguing characters.
If you love a Christmas book that involves wine, romance and some tragedy, this one is for you.

This is a cute spin off of "While you Were Sleeping". Katie has no family and her life is definitely not what she thought it would be. When Juan, a gorgeous customer at the diner where she works, asks her to be his fake girlfriend for one night - Christmas Dinner with his family. The chance for a real family Christmas is too good to pass up. That is before Juan was in an accident, and a coma, and she was mistaken for his girlfriend.
Lots of fun, ups and downs, with some family drama thrown in. Great holiday feel good story.
I received an advance copy of this b book in exchange for my honest review,

The Holiday Mix-Up is a charming holiday romance filled with cute moments, lovely characters, and just the right amount of tension to make it a perfect Christmas read. What makes this book truly shine is the chemistry between the two characters, Katie and Mateo. Their unique personalities, quirks, and vulnerabilities make them feel like real people, and you can't help but become invested in their journey.
The holiday setting adds a warm and festive backdrop to the story, making it the perfect read for the Christmas season. It's filled with all the cozy elements that make holiday romances so enjoyable, from twinkling lights, Christmas tree farm, and snowy landscapes to heartwarming family moments.
Thank you to the publisher for a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

The Holiday Mix-Up is a cute mash up of While You Were Sleeping and The Wedding Date. I enjoyed the main characters and liked that it was a Christmas set book without hitting you over the head with everything Christmas themed.

This is a cute holiday romance where Katie, who is a waitress at a diner, is asked to be Juan's (her crush) fake date for when he goes to his family's Christmas. Katie jumps at the chance, seeing she has nowhere to go for Christmas. An accident happened, causing Juan to be admitted to the hospital, leaving him in a coma. This is where she meets his brother, Mateo. Katie is invited to spend time with his family and gets to experience their Puerto Rican holiday festivities. His family gets to know Katie. She also gets to learn about and help with their family business. While spending time with their family, her heart falls for someone else besides Juan. I just love the ending! I would like to say thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for this ARC of
The Holiday Mix-Up by Ginny Baird. ❤️🎄❤️

Thank you #NetGalley and #SourcebooksCasablanca for allowing me to read this arc early.
Lonely-hearted waitress Katie Smith has nowhere to go for Christmas, and a huge crush on her gorgeous diner patron Juan Martinez. So when Juan asks Katie to pose as his girlfriend for holiday festivities at his family's winery, Katie leaps at the chance… that is, until an accident lands Juan in a coma right after giving his folks the "news."This book reminded me of a mix of The Wedding Date and While you were Sleeping. It was a very enjoyable read that I did not want to put down.

This was an interesting plot for a Christmas/ holiday book. I still enjoyed the book. I did find it a bit on the predictable side. I also wish it had a bit more of the Christmas / holiday vibes in it. But it was good.
