David Beckler’s “A Nuclear Reaction” thrusts readers into a world of intrigue, power, and relentless pursuit. Antonia Conti, an investigative journalist, unearths a conspiracy that threatens to shake the foundations of government. But her enemies are formidable, and they won’t hesitate to silence her.
As Antonia continues her fearless work, she receives a lead from Rick Grainger, a star reporter. The story exposes corruption at the highest levels, and Antonia realizes that those involved will stop at nothing to bury it. When Grainger disappears, Antonia and her old friend DI Russell Chapman race against time to uncover the connection and bring his abductors to justice.
Beckler’s writing keeps the tension taut, weaving a web of danger and deception. The stakes escalate as enemies emerge from unexpected corners. With lives hanging in the balance, Antonia and Chapman must navigate treacherous waters—both within and outside the law.
A Nuclear Reaction is the third entry in the Antonia Conte series and each is better than the last, and that's saying something. I keep thinking they can't get any better and Mr. Beckler keeps proving me wrong. Once again Antonia finds herself up against the most powerful and power-hungry people in government and big business. And once again, it seems like she is alone in her fight, except for the assistance of DI Russell Chapman and the people at her newspaper. But no matter the odds stacked against her, Antonia refuses to give in to those powers and let them have their way. There is plenty of action and suspense in this story, one of the hallmarks of Mr. Beckler's writing. And even though the story is set in the 'near future, it isn't really sci-fi. Most of the futuristic details involve the government and big business and the power they are able to weld. It is an excellent, captivating, thrilling, hold-on-to-your-seat crime mystery. It can be read as a stand-alone, but there are details and events from the previous books that make the current one much more enjoyable. So I recommend they be read in order, but the important is to read them. They are amazing and will be very difficult to put down once you start reading.
I received a review copy from the author via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
This is the third story I have read in this series. And everyone of them have been excellent reads. They have believable situations and well-rounded characters and I know that Mr. Beckler is going to bring us a whole lot more on this series.I can’t wait to see what it is. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys fast paced reading, hanging onto the edge of your seat, and never knowing what is going to be coming round the next corner.
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley. This is my honest and voluntary review.
A Nuclear Reaction by David Beckler will keep you turning pages and holding your breath until the very end!. This is the third Antonia Conti book in the series and the first one that I have read. I received an advance copy of this book through NetGalley and I always review every book that I read.
This book is set in Great Britain and some of the words are typically British which added to the atmosphere of the story. The plot and characters are well developed. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I could not put it down. I highly recommend this book.
The latest blockbuster fast paced action thriller featuring journalist Antonia Conti is book 3 in the series but my first read and it read well as a stand-alone. The book continues the story of the determined journalist to root out corruption and those involved in the death of her ex boss Alan. Having received a lead that no one else wants she teams up with DI Russell Chapman to investigate. This is a very well written and plotted book that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Briefly, with breathtaking speed we are transported from central London to events in an African country Zungharistan. Using her hard assed attitude Antonia works to uncover the truth behind Grainger’s excruciating death. All the time Chapman is there to watch her back.
Brilliant storyline but be warned there is occasional extreme violence and torture. Will look out for the next book and interested in seeing how the relationship between the two main character develops. A fast paced read full of action, suspense and twists and turns. A great read.
My thoughts about David Beckler’s A Nuclear Reaction is a totally gripping & believable story line, with edge of the seat suspense, that has all the essential requirements of a very satisfying thriller. Writer David Beckler has beautifully crafted a must read suspense action thriller, that one can only begin to appreciate the many layers that accommodate and accumumulate as this book unfolds its ever enriching and ever thrilling chapters. No doubt that it is binge-read worthy and that it also begins to grow more gripping from chapter to chapter. From a reader’s perspective, I find this fast moving action thriller hitting the right chord. Hats of to David Beckler who has done a fantastic job with the storyline, and the suspense that blows your mind. David Beckler’s A Nuclear Reaction story begins with an investigative journalist just uncovered an explosive conspiracy. She won’t be silenced. But can her powerful enemies be stopped. As Antonia Conti continues to make waves in London’s criminal underworld with her fearless investigative work, Rick Grainger, a star reporter for a rival newspaper, brings her a lead nobody else will touch for good reason. The story reveals corruption at the highest level of government, and she quickly discovers that the people involved will do anything to bury it. And just when Antonia thinks she’s won her battle, Grainger disappears. Can she and her old friend DI Russell Chapman uncover the connection with her investigation and bring Grainger’s abductors to justice. When men appear threatening both their lives and those of those closest to them, Antonia and Chapman are in a race against time to fend off not only these adversaries, but enemies on both sides of the law. With everything on the line, can they save Grainger before it’s too late. All an all David Beckler’s A Nuclear Reaction is racy, compelling and entertaining equally, thanks to brilliantly well written story, tight plot, heart-throbbing suspense and power packed characters. I would like to say a big thank you to author David Beckler, for sending a copy on netgalley for me to read and review this spectacular action thriller I’ve really enjoyed reading. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💥💥💥💥💥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I was lucky enough to receive a free advance copy of this book on the promise of an honest review. Well, honestly, I loved it. I loved the characters and can relate to them, and I loved the story, which raced along at a a good pace. Put aside some time for this book, as once you start reading, you won't want to stop.
A gripping read, if a little uncomfortable at times, this feels so authentic you could be reading non-fiction, scarily so. Fast paced, red herrings and enough tension for you to want to read it in one go. The characters are interesting, well rounded and mainly likeable. Although there is enough background information in this book about the relationship between Antonia and Russell, I’ll be reading the first 2 books in this series to get the full picture. Recommended read.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Allow two days (or one excessively long one) for this adult, near-future, urban procedural thriller involving corruption at the highest levels in England. I had an ARC via Netgalley and this is my voluntary review.
In this third installment of the Antonia Conti series, the author has once again delivered a fast paced and deliciously wicked tale. The characters are well rounded and come across as believable, whether you love them or hate them. This provocative, somewhat dark and twisted story grabs you from the first page and keeps you guessing until the very end! It was so captivating and exciting that I simply couldn't put it down.
Thank you to NetGalley and Amazon Publishing UK who provided me with a copy of this book. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
David Beckler consistently achieves a rare balance of a taut, fast-moving storyline populated by convincing characters. He's also brilliant on dialogue. As always, in A Nuclear Reaction he tackles heavyweight subjects in an unflinching way. You always know you're in good hands with a Beckler book and this one is no exception. Loved it.
This is part of a series, and it's best read after the first books. With a full background of how the characters fit together it's a pretty good story. There were enough red herrings to keep it interesting. I'd give it 3.5 stars, which runs up to 4.
An excellent, fast paced action thriller with well fleshed out characters. Antonia, strong and fearless, along with Chapman and the others, are put through their paces in their ongoing mission to find Alan's killer. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Antonia is an investigative reporter who specializes in crime reporting. She is given a new lead from a reporter that transfers over to her newspaper. It's an interesting novel.
Book 3 in the Antonia Conti series. It is a fast paced thriller and I advise readers to read the first two novels to get a sense of the characters back story although this novel works well as a standalone.
This is book 3 in the Antonia Conti Thriller Series, and I now must read books 1 and 2, because this story is jam- packed with action, suspense and misfortune that moved quickly and is very well written. So if you get a chance to read the earlier books I can highly recommend you take the time.
In this offering, protagonists and investigative journalist, Antonia Conti, is working on some dangerous stuff that gets absolutely maniacal when she gets a lead from Rick Grainger, a hot shot reporter at a rival paper. It’s a story that
just may get her killed… She teams up with her longtime friend, DI Chapman (Detective Inspector in British parlance)
to solve some underworld nasty crimes and to try to save Rick Grainger.
If you love British Thrillers, I can say that this is really well done! I would recommend reading Books 1 & 2, though
I feel this book runs well as a standalone. I recommend this book to those who enjoy Police Thrillers.
My thanks to Publisher Thomas and Mercer via NetGalley for a download copy of this book, in exchange for
My honest review.
