I loved this, very easy to read, full of complex characters, some nice , some not so nice ! However, a great cast of characters and an incredibly fabulous read(! Highly recommended
Definitely, an easy read for the coming summer!
Bella, the MC, has found herself the perfect summer job as the first stewardess on a super yacht, using all the hospitality skills she has learned over the years working in hotels and restaurants, except she forgot that it is on a boat for the whole summer. And she gets travel sick! Oops!
First hurdle.
The second one is her roomie for the duration, who seems rather miffed at this newbie coming in and taking the position on the boat that she had hoped for.
Third, the first guests she has to host include a famous actress and her extremely tasty nephew.
And she CANNOT get involved... Can she?
This was an easy book to get into, with a good solid boy-meets-girl romance and several twists and turns along the way.
I can tell you that there was a moment towards the end before the climax when I literally held my breath, thinking that things might not work out...
So good!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Embla Books for an ARC.
A nice enough read but didnt hook me in as much as I'd hoped. Some fun scenes and interesting characters., just didnt blow me away. Wanted a bit more.
I found this book difficult to engage with. Many more positive reviews mention Below Deck and I wonder if I knew more about this if I would have found the book more enjoyable.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
"A Summer on the Riviera" is the story of Bella, who works in hospitality but wants to see more of the world than the restaurants and hotels where she has worked so far. She gets a job as a chief stewardess on a super-yacht, despite having never been to sea and not realising that she suffers from sea-sickness - a trifle far-fetched.
The book only really covers the first charter of the season, so a week rather than a whole summer. Bella has to juggle relationships with other crew and guests, as well as getting to grips with her new job.
There is plenty of intrigue, misunderstandings and, of course, romance. Good escapist literature.
Thanks to Net Galley and the publishers for the opportunity to review this book.
This book was a bit hit and miss to be honest. I really wanted to like it but I found myself unable to connect with the main character. I stuck with it and I and began to enjoy it but it was tough at times
I went into this book with a lot of high hopes. I love books that travel to Europe, and I love the show Below Deck, so I thought this would be the book for me. It was...ok. Not amazing, but ok. I can see why other people would like it, it just wasn't for me.
If you love watching below deck you'll enjoy this book. Was a bit far fetched some scenarios and possibity of a what if being twisted but loved the beginning and middle. Overall great read
Being a fun watcher of below deck I couldn't wait to read a story with thr lead being a chief stew and it did not disappoint.
The story was so fun and set in such a fun destination, I really loved it.
Bella has just landed the job of her dreams. Working on a yacht and being surrounded by celebrities. But it's a little bit harder then she thought it would be learning all the yacht lingo.
It is here that Bella meets Felicity who is a world famous actress. Who is taking a break on the yacht to get away from the spotlight for a little while. She is on holiday with her family, all she wants is to relax, unwind, and spend quality time with her family.
But things take a turn when Bella and Felicity meet and theirs worlds collide in unexpected ways.
There is certainly plenty in this book to keep the reader super engaged and wanting to find out what will happen next.
An adventure set on an extremely expensive yacht. Bella is working her first season as a steward and wants it to go well. The first people on the trip are actors who bring with them mystery and intrigue.
I received a free copy of, A Summer on the Riviera, by Rachel Barnett, from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Bella Mason is going to have an exciting summer, she got her dream job as chief stewardess on a private yacht, with celebrities. I dont think I would like being on a boat for the summer, but Bella enjoyed it mostly, when she wasnt getting in trouble. A nice read.
A summer job on a yacht, sign me up! Bella takes on a new hospitality adventure, struggling to find her way with colleagues and learning the yacht lingo. When a group of celebrities set sail for a week life changes occur that will keep you guessing. This book was full of subtle twists and turns, that kept you wanting more.
This book was a quick and easy read and I’d recommend it for anyone wanting a little family mystery. Thank you to NetGalley for an early copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
A wonderfully written easy-read romance. A few twists and turns along the way, but otherwise a beautiful boy meets girl ending. The characters are easy to follow, and the storyline flows at a great pace. After reading a lot of heavy thriller/mystery books lately, this was a great lighthearted change of pace.
I can’t wait to read more by this author. Thank you NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book.
Bella takes a job on a luxury yacht as chief steward as she's always wanted to see something of the world. Felicity Kennedy has charted the yacht for a week along with her guests. Mel second steward takes a dislike to Bella right from the start
This was about life on a super rich charted yacht. You had instant attraction love. A hidden secret that would affect every one. You had fame. You had secret debt, a very jealous member of staff. This book had it all . It also had a mad chef who you felt for . His food sounded amazing and you got a perfect ending . There was also a very funny part which I won’t spoil. Read it .
