this book has a cop point a gun at a character and treats it like it's cute and protective. no no no no no forever.
This is a friends to lovers with a holiday theme and fake dating thrown in to boot.
I tried to love this book, but I didn't seem to connect with it the way other people did. I love a good friends to lovers trope, I also love a good fake dating book, they both have their pitfalls and awkward moments that usually lead to the characters opening up or great nekky times. However, Luka and Stella just felt awkward from the get go. While I did sense Luka liked Stella, there wasn't that instant chemistry that usually drives these kinds of tropes, at least what I'm normally used to reading.
The story revolves around Stella's dilapidated farm and how Stella is hoping that one Instagram influencer is going to hopefully revive it when she -cross fingers- wins a contest. That's a lot of pressure all the way around, but add in that Stella lied on her application saying she runs the farm with her boyfriend. This is where Luka comes into the picture since they've been friends for years. Also, don't get me started on the friends, but they seem to lack talking topic...
I'm just going to say, this felt more like Woman's Lit with a touch of romance and honestly, in today's world, it probably would have been a better story if the book leaned more into empowering women to run a business instead of forcing this idea that women need a man to fake their way into winning a competition. Trust me, I'm all about people finding love and I like that Luka and Stella eventually find their way to it, but the plot didn't thrill me.
A 3.5 read overall.
This is such a super cute romance, fun, sweet, heartwarming and very enjoyable, it is a definite must-read for any romance reader who loves an easy-to-read book to devour over a weekend.
I've not read anything by B.K. Borison before, but after reading this charming book I will certainly be looking out for more of her work in the future.
This is a tenderly written and very, very cute little small-town romance set on a Christmas tree farm - yup, Christmas has come seven months early, LOL!!
I have to admit that friends to lovers haven't always been my favourite trope as sometimes I find that the characters are dragging their feet too much and plainly refuse to see what's before their eyes, but I really enjoyed this when there is an element of wanting to bang their heads together and shout 'open your eyes you fools' but the light and easy writing and sweet plot pulls every together beautifully and keeps your reading.
Overall, a sweet and enjoyable story, the perfect light reading for a weekend!
This was such a cute holiday read! A slow burn friends to lovers. I absolutely loved it and I am beyond excited to read the rest of the books in the series!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you for an advanced copy of Lovelight Farms. I loved this book!
I don't think you will find a more whimsical setting for a holiday book, or a more delightful couple. Lovelight Farms is one of my favorite holiday books I've ever read! The magic of the Christmas tree farm just envelopes you in this story, and you can't help but root for Stella and Luke. Stella and Luke are goals, and you cannot convince me otherwise! This story is full of the sweet, the fun, and the sexy all rolled into one. And, that scene on the couch between Stella and Luke is guaranteed to leave you hot and bothered.
If you haven't picked Lovelight Farms up yet, what are you waiting for? BK Borison has a way with words!
Star Rating: 5⭐️
"I'm going to love her in all the quier ways, the slow ways, the loud and obnoxious ways."
•Friends to lovers troupe
•Fake dating
•Death of a parent
•Small town, total Gilmore Girls vibes!
•I need a Dane and Matty story
•I'm in love with Beckett and will go onto the next book simply for his story!
•Luka and his mom 😍
•All the Christmas vibes and I am 100% here for it. I would do pretty much anything to visit Lovelight Farms!
•Stella annoyed me most of the book. But that's purely a personal preference. Others might love her. She's pretty immature for me. The last part of the book, all I wanted to do was kick her! How stupid can you be?!?
•First 1/4 wasn't really grabbing me. The middle half was fantastic!
•The last "miscommunication" piece was unnecessary but it totally ended adorably
•The National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation reference
•It’s actually really sensual and romantic. That's what I like about it. And it's real. Not some porn movie that is absolutely fake!
•Definitely an adorable Christmas read, and cute love story
•I can not wait to start book 2!
“It’s true. I’ve always loved Christmas and everything that comes with it. It’s the one time of year where everything feels like magic. Hopeful. Earnest and kind. The whole world slows down and believes for once.”
•
Well B.K. Borison took the words right out of my mouth. 🥹🥰 This is exactly how I feel about Christmas and why I love it so much. 🎄♥️
•
This is Christmas magic in book form. The town is darling. The characters are lovely. The author paints these perfect scenes—snow falling, vintage Christmas music on the radio, warm pastries and sweet coffee. Twinkle lights and fuzzy hats and crackling fires. Magic. ✨
•
It’s fake dating and friends to lovers but it’s so well done. Luka and Stella have loved each other for years and just needed that push. The push comes when Stella’s tree farm is entered in a small business competition on Instagram and she (oops!) lists that she runs it with her nonexistent boyfriend. Luka to the rescue!
•
The supporting characters are precious. I cannot wait for Beckett’s story. Like, I need it. I loved him so much!
•
Add this to your holiday TBR or, you know, read it now because YOLO ✌️

Thank you NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group!!
Stella owns a Christmas tree farm in a small town. She enlists her best friend, Luka, on a fake dating scheme in order to win a contest and secure the funds needed to keep her farm in business.
I love a good fake dating trope so this one had me invested. I loved Stella and Luka’s easy nature with each other, and of course was excited when these two besties fell for each other. I enjoyed the small town setting along with the supporting cast of workers on the tree farm. This was a sweet story about love and friendship and a whole lot of wide open door steam! Very cute for holiday reading too!
I just love Luka so much! B. K. Borison has a beautiful way of making this small town so charming and whimsical. While it’s billed as a Christmas book, this book and whole series really is evergreen. The vibes of the town are so wholesome, and it really draws you in and makes you want to know every piece of gossip on each townsperson. It feels like Stars Hollow in a way. A friends-to-lovers, mutual pining, fake dating romance with plenty of cutesy moments for all romance lovers.
Lovelight Farms, Stella and her mom used to go there when she was a child. She remembered it as a magical winter wonderland. A place to pick out the perfect Christmas tree, drink hot chocolate and skate on the pond.
Wanting to recreate this happiness after her mother passes, she buys the farm not knowing anything about running a Christmas tree farm. When things on the farm start being sabotaged, dying trees, deliveries not coming in, etc. She doesn't understand. As the debt mounts, well she doesn't even want to think about that.
When an opportunity comes around for her Christmas tree farm to get a lot of attention if a popular influencer comes to the farm and puts in a good word she grabs onto this idea and won't let go.
On the application she turns in she puts she owns the farm with her boyfriend, except she doesn't have one. This is where Luka comes in, they have been besties since childhood, and it shouldn't be too hard to take this best friend thing to the next level. a fake romance. What happens when your bestie what's to take it to the level of no return and turn this fake relationship into the real thing?
Tender, slow burn romance, friends to lovers. Charming romance with all the holiday joy you need.
Can't wait to get started on the rest of the series now. For a debut author this is exceptionally good!

I was given a complimentary copy of this book.
All opinions expressed are my own,
This book is everything I wanted from a holiday romance and then some!! All the checks this book hits, friends to lovers, fake dating, small town romance, supportive best friends/business partners, and some spice (not just the cookies)! I want Lovelight Farms to be a real place please, will re-read this book every holiday season. Also is introduces the next set of character for the other books and already gets you to care about them. Highly rate and recommend this book!
Absolutely loved this!
I have heard so much hype around this series that I knew I had to read this.
This is friends to lovers with some fake dating set in a small town during Christmastime.
I think I listened to this at the perfect time since I have been super in the mood for holiday romances. The Christmas spirit is hitting me early this year. Lovelight Farms hit the spot for me. This is a steamy Hallmark Christmas movie and it was perfect.
I think the romance was superb. It was slow burn, friends to lovers who agree to fake date for a contest. I believed the friendship between these two and felt the connection between them. The romance was heartwarming and sweet. I really enjoyed it.
this felt like a hallmark christmas movie in book form, complete with fake dating and a social media influencer and a christmas tree farm!!! it was so cute and such a fun little escape from reality, and i didn't want to put it down. loved the little mystery subplot too to keep things interesting! the seed plants of other characters (who i know have their own books!) made me want to keep reading on in this series for sure
I have so many feelings on how amazing this book was. I loved it so unbelievably much. I couldn’t decided if I loved Stella or Luka more. But also, Layla and Beckett were just so amazing. Every chapter made me love this book more and more. I will say that the parts with Stella remembering her mom and looking back on her mom’s death, destroyed me. Unfortunately, that resonated with me more than I can begin to explain. But seeing a character going through the same emotions and feelings I’ve been through myself, just made me love this book more. I adored the chemistry between Luka and Stella. I love when a book has me rooting for the characters from the start. I will say that the book has it steamy moments but they are well done. THAT BONUS CHAPTER FROM LUKA’S POINT OF VIEW THOUGH? 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I really truly loved this book so much. I guess the only thing that bothered me was Stella bringing up something that she witnessed happen at a bar with Luka and there was no real closure on that or what actually happened. I would have loved to have seen his side of that. Otherwise definitely recommending this book to all my friends!!
The fake dating trope is one of my favorites. Two people forced together suddenly, who have to pretend to be head over heals in love while actually not even knowing each other's favorite colors.
Fun escapism for the beach/pool season. Throw in a bunch of raccoons and you've got a winner!
This is a Christmas themed book so a bit out of season, but still fun to read.
I'm normally not a fan of Christmas themed books but I regret not reading this sooner! It was so good. It does have a Christmas theme...I mean it is set on a Christmas tree farm, but it isn't overwhelming at all.
I went in fairly blind and was intrigued by her predicament of needing a boyfriend. This fake dating story really worked. @authorbkborison did a great job setting it up, providing "practice" for Luka and Stella, and adding in plenty of forced proximity which led to some really steamy moments. I didn't love the fact that Stella had lied about having a boyfriend, but I guess I liked the end result.
I loved watching best friends fall in love. I think friendship is so vital in a relationship and theirs was so special. I loved how Luka supported Stella.
If you love small town, friends to lovers, forced proximity, and fake dating and haven't read this yet I highly recommend!
I received an advanced copy of this book through @netgalley and @berkleyromance (I had also previously listened to this on the @libby.app I'll be home)
This is my honest review
Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison is a delightful best friends to lovers romance with fake dating, a social media contest & a struggling farm set during the holidays…what more could you ask for?!
I adored watching this relationship blossom as their connection is evident immediately, but watching their struggle as they fight their feelings & wrestle their friendship into new territory was a treat. The fact that this story is set amidst a Christmas tree farm facing a hardship while also having a plethora of other unfortunate mishaps created a mysterious aura that kept me turning the pages for answers deep into the night.
This book is like drinking a cup of hot cocoa on a cold winter’s day. This is the perfect read for those looking to feel all the goodness of the holidays with enough romance, drama, spice & more to truly captivate one’s interest.
I am such a fan of the quaint town including the overbearing with love townspeople. I cannot wait to dive back into the rest of the series. Lovelight Farms is the perfect introduction into this small town & a great start to a series.
This is an excellent recommendation for anyone looking for a cozy & spicy holiday romance with all the Hallmark vibes amidst a great love story.
Massive thanks to NetGalley & Berkley Publishing for the free arc, which I voluntarily read & reviewed.
I will post this on social media closer to release date & Amazon on release date. I will add links once I do.
When Stella signs on for a contest put on by a social media influencer, she's really hoping to win. The tree farm she runs is not doing so well and the money could get them in a much better place. The reality is that she doesn't just want to win, she needs to win. So she adds a little bit of romance and sends in the application talking about how she runs the farm with her boyfriend. The problem? She doesn't run the farm with her boyfriend. She doesn't even have a boyfriend. the answer is asking her best friend to fake date her for the week. One very long week where she has to pretend that all the feelings she has for her best friend are, in fact, fake and that this isn't actually the life she's dreamed of.
The first in the Lovelight series introduces us to an amazing group of characters. Right from the beginning I was hooked and knew I would also be investigating Beckett and Layla's stories. While the books take place on a Christmas tree farm, the story is a cozy romance that can be enjoyed year round.
RATING: 5/5 STARS
This was my first book by B.K. Borison and it was a true delight. I'm so glad Berkley picked up this series so more readers can find it! The cutest friends to lovers story. Perfect for the holiday season, or anytime really.
4.5!
A romance that is the perfect Christmas read but also great for any time of the year ❤️
Fake dating, friends to lovers romances have been written countless times, and I have definitely read a lot of them yet eat it up every single time 😌 But something about Stella & Luka’s story really did it for me! They’re like precious little babies that I want to carry around with me in my pocket everywhere I go 😭
Sometimes it’s hard for me to read books with only the FMC’s POV because I like to see all the thoughts going on in the MMC’s head. But even with only Stella’s POV, you could see how far gone Luka was for her 😫 Luka was this calm, kind, patient, and respectful presence that I absolutely fell in love with 🤧 I feel like he was a simple man, but there was just this aura about him that I could not get over and was swooning over since I first met him on the page. I cannot explain how much I adore him, and I seriously just want a Luka for myself 🥲 Not to mention, I also loved the strong friendship between Stella & Luka! You could tell that they are each other’s person, and I had a smile on my face the entire time watching them go from best friends to something more 🥹
Overall, I adored this friends to lovers story 🫶 Like I mentioned earlier, I feel like this book could be read at any point during the year, even though it does have Christmas vibes. It’s great for if you just want a heartwarming, feel-good read 🥰 I’m so excited for the other books in this series and can’t wait to explore more of this cute small town + its inhabitants 💌
