Lovelight Farms was so good and I already can’t wait to read more from this author! This book is the first in the series and I’m definitely going to check out the rest now. This is a small town romance, the heroine owns a Christmas tree farm, fake dating between best friends which of course leads to more!
Stella purchased a Christmas tree farm about a year ago but took on the former owner’s debts and is struggling financially to keep the farm afloat. She enters a social media contest to try and win not only the prize money of $100,000, but the publicity from the social media influencer. But on the application, Stella wrote she owns the farm with her boyfriend…and she doesn’t have a boyfriend. So enter Luka, her best friend of 10 years, who she asks to fake date her.
This one was surprisingly not very Christmas-y. It takes place in the fall and leading into the winter season instead, so bonus if you want a read that is lighter on the Christmas-ness. 😆 I’m a sucker for any romance where someone owns a Christmas tree farm so this was already solid for me from the start. I adored Luka and Stella together, their history of being friends for so long added so much to their relationship. I liked how both had been wanting one another for years secretly but afraid to act on it. I loved how the townspeople and their friends were all not-surprised when they announce they’re dating, everyone is so excited they finally got together instead. Bonus: we get some cute kitten moments.

VERDICT: a fantastically fun & sweet friends to lovers fake dating romance set on a Christmas tree farm in a small town! gives all the holiday vibes, cuteness & swoon - you’ll fall immediately in love with Luka!
When you sign up for an online contest but say you own your Christams tree farm with your boyfriend, then become a finalist and get a visit but don't actully have a boyfriend you might be a little pickle. Thankfully for Stella, Luka, her best friend for 10 years agrees to be her fake boyfriend for the contest but when he wants to see where things go for the week, things go farther than Stella expects and is not sure if she wants to risk her friendship with Luka.

What did I love about this? Almost everything!
I adored this holiday friends to lovers romance. It was a warm, tender, slow-burn of a love story set at a Christmas tree farm and all the foodie references were so delightful! I loved Luka and how he cared for Stella in all the big and small ways. The pining these two were doing for each other was top notch. The small town and all it’s quirks.
Lovelight farms is one of the cutest books I’ve ever read. It is such a warm, sweet, comforting read. It takes place on a Christmas tree farm so it would definitely make the perfect holiday read however, I would read this book all year round and still think it was absolutely magical. There are very few things in this world I love more than friends-to-lovers and fake dating and Stella and Luka may just be some of the best of the best in both those categories. Their friendship and love was so beautiful and I could feel while reading how much each other’s presence meant to them. It was so much fun to watch everyone around them know that they belonged together and them be absolutely obsessed with each other. They were perfect for each other and the setting and the side characters only added to the magic. BK Borison created the most special setting than makes me want to go romp through a forest in the snow and fall in love. And she created the funniest, most unique and charming side characters and little town that make the book just so funny and cute. It was such a joy to read and brought the biggest smile to my face.

If you love fake-dating, friends to lovers, small-town romance, slow-burn, & Christmas tree farm then this is a book you will want to pick up ASAP! I will be re-reading this during Christmas time with a cup of hot chocolate! I LOVED this story! It was charming, it made me laugh, it had all the right feels.
Stella is working tirelessly to save her Christmas Tree farm and comes across a contest with an Instagram influencer which may just be the solution to all her financial problems. She sells a story of romance in her application about owning the farm with her (non-existent) boyfriend. In comes Luka, the perfect best friend who will gladly help his friend in need and be the pretend boyfriend. But is he truly pretending? Is she?
Side note, book boyfriends like Luka are why women’s standards are so high, lol. A man who can cook, is sweet & detail-oriented? Where do I sign up!?
Even though I would have LOVED a dual POV it did not need it, anyways let’s not forget the author did gift us with Luka’s fantastic epilogue.
B.K. Borison did a terrific job of giving us all the necessary details for Luka and Stella’s backstory without having a dual timeline which I appreciated here. I think had it been done with a dual timeline it would have caused a rupture in the connection for the reader between the characters and the present situations they were living.
This has become one of my Christmas must-read comfort books and will be gifting it and recommending it all throughout the holiday season!
I would absolutely DIE for Stella and Luka. The friends to lovers and fake dating tropes are UNMATCHED, and reading Becs’ writing truly feels like your own bit of Christmas magic.

Book Review:
This one definitely was cozy, warm, romantic, and sweet, which was exactly what I needed when reading it.
Stella gets herself and Luka into the fake dating situation when she enters a contest to hopefully make her Christmas tree farm some extra money as it is struggling as she inherited some debts with it and has been having some problems since taking over the farm that have costed her quite a bit of money. To make her application more swoon worthy and to increase her chance of winning she lies that she runs it with her boyfriend which forces a fake dating situation to come to fruition when she is notified she will be a contender for the grand prize.
I loved the combination of long time best friends and the fake dating. It was done so well as these two goons had clearly been in love with each other for a long time and the fake dating was exactly what they needed to see what everyone else has been seeing for years in their small town.
Thank you Berkley Romance for the ARC of this book in advance of its release! I am so thankful to read it in exchange for my honest feedback.
Short synopsis: In an effort to save her beloved Christmas Tree farm, Stella signs up to be featured on an influencers Instagram page. But when signing up she accidentally on purpose said she owned the farm with her boyfriend. Problem is…. Stella doesn’t have a boyfriend.
My thoughts: Friends to lovers and fake dating? SIGN ME UP!
What a perfect holiday romance! Perfect mix of humor, snow melting steam, and huggable moments without the typical holiday cheesiness.
I loved Stella and Luka, and their chemistry was so apparent from the beginning. The side characters also added so much to this story, I can’t wait to get some more of them in the follow up stories.

Lovelight Farms was perhaps the cutest friends-to-lovers romance I've ever read. If you like Hallmark movies or Gilmore Girls, this book is perfect for you. It's set in a small town and the main character runs a Christmas tree farm. Talk about adorable. Plus, the romance itself felt realistic. I loved how much pining there was too. I'm a sucker for pining.
I highly recommend this book, especially if you like…

I sincerely loved this book. A perfect blend of Christmas, fake dating turned real feelings, and authentic relatable characters.

Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison is the first novel in the Lovelight series. The novel follows the fake dating situation between two best friends—Stella and Luka and their attempt to help save Stella’s Christmas Tree farm. Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison is filled with amazingly fun, endearing, and quirky small town characters, a bit of mystery, witty banter, emotional depth, and lots of romance. Readers will not want to miss this charming storyline, vivid setting, lovely characters, and beautiful love story.

(Side note: Don’t forget to read the rest of the novels in the series.)
Lovelight Farms quickly became one of my new favorites! It felt like a warm hug. The writing is lyrical and pulls at your heart strings. It made me remember why I love small town romance as much as I do & made me wish for days spent on a Christmas Tree farm.
It was like the smell of fresh cinnamon rolls, curling up by the fire with a good book and cup of hot chocolate, and the happiness that comes from wandering a green house.
Berkley is republishing this amazing series this summer and while it’s not quite holiday session yet, THIS A MUST IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR YOUR NEXT HOLIDAY ROMANCE.
Stella enters a contest to save her Christmas tree farm. Only problem is that she lied on the application and has to ask her best friend of ten years, Luka, to pretend to be boyfriend in order to win.
This book had all my favorite tropes: best friends to lovers, fake dating and small town romance. Luka was literally the perfect book boyfriend. He was protective of Stella, loyal and always knew what to say! Meanwhile Stella was such a great female character. She was hardworking, cared about her employees and had some real life fears. The steamy chemistry, beautiful tenderness and banter between the two best friends was everything I needed in a book!!! I also found it refreshing that this book wasn’t super angsty and full of drama. Lovelight Farms will be a place you’ll want to visit, and I totally got some Gillmore Girl vibes when the author was describing the town of Inglewild.
One to no skip!! Thank you Berkley Romance for the ARC!
Welp looks like I’m going to be buying a Christmas tree farm. Honestly, what is there not to love about this book? It’s charismatic and charming with the small town feel and a sweet friends-to-more love story with sultry romantic scenes and a faking dating trope. One of the things I love about friends-to-more is that the chemistry is there from the beginning. The years filled with agony being friendzoned and loaded moments of tension fill the pages the moment you open the book. This author knows how to not only write these scenes but imprint them into your heart. It’s the type of book where you feel not only the emotions that are being projected on the pages, you feel the in-between angst and pining because the writing is so well done and filled with emotion.
The narrator was spectacular and gave a unique voice to not only Stella but every character in this book. I truly loved this book when I first read it, but listening to it gave me a new appreciation for this author's writing style and a new faveorote narrator to follow
Sure is this a holiday book, but it’s not one that is overly laced with tinsel or mistletoe. There is a hint of the “Christmas magic”, but it’s nice that the author didn’t use this as the propelling factor for romance. The characters' story and connection are what make this book special. This book easily checks every single one of my boxes for an enjoyable romance book. From the flawless writing to the characters that felt real, it’s easy to see that this book is easily well loved. I’m beyond excited and counting down the days until the second book in the series comes out.
Thank you to Berkley and NetGalley for this ARC

The perfect holiday read! BK Borison knows how to write a book boyfriend! Luka ❤️❤️This Christmas romance was well paced and enjoyable from beginning to end.
Friends to lovers and fake dating are not my favorite tropes but in this case they were both so well written. I loved the friendship between Luka and Stella. The secondary characters on this book were great as well.
The setting 🤩 A small town Christmas tree farm decorated for the holidays. A downtown that consists of a bakery, pizza place and a bookshop. Quirky townspeople that lend a helping hand. I wish this place was real.
Overall, a great book to get you into the holiday spirit. Looking forward to reading the next few in this series
This book is an absolute gem!! Fake dating is one of my favorite tropes and this didn’t disappoint. I also love a good cute holiday read. Cannot recommend this one enough.

There was so much that worked for me here. The entire tone/vibe in general is just flawless. This IS Gilmore Girls in a book - it's cozy, it's zany, it's feel-good. I think my favorite part of the story itself was the town and all the side characters. The phone tree?? Amazing. The betting pool?? I love. It's basically Stars Hollow 2.0 and I wanna visit.
I also think the writing here is insanely good. B.K. Borison writes tightly and balances the emotional with the lighthearted in a fantastic way.

This was a wonderful read, BK Borison is clearly talented and I was a huge fan of their voice and just their gorgeous style of writing. Stella wins a contest but with a twist, she says she has a boyfriend. So who do you ask but the boy you've been pining over and friends with for years.
I found Stella so relatable, glass half full despite all of the difficult experiences she's had. How she's made this family and her friends her family, and fiercely independent. Everything about her is just pining away for Luka. This book definitely highlights that tension of being friends with someone and being scared to lose someone.
Luka was sweet and such a soft love interest. These two had great chemistry.
I am so pumped for Beckett's book and intrigued by him, excited keep reading in this series.

If you read one holiday book this year, do yourself a favor and make it Lovelight Farms! This was the cutest story with the most perfect characters. It made me feel like I was all cozied up, walking around a snowy Christmas tree farm with a hot cocoa 🎄✨
