What a sweet, and a bit steamy romance! I love the town the author has created and can't wait to read more about the inhabitants. Had a bit of a Gilmore Girls feel - love that small town vibe!

This was a fun holiday-ish romance. It was straight out of a Hallmark Christmas movie. Stella and Luka were BFFs who both had secret crushes on each other. A needed fake relationship gives them the opportunity to act on their feelings. I loved their relationship. I loved the friendships/partnerships between Stella and Beckett and Layla. I got a kick out of Stella's relationship with Charlie. The mystery in the story was a lot of fun. The only thing missing for me was more of Luka's POV because when I got it at the end, I LOVED it. I needed more of it. It would have added the little something I felt was missing at times. I'm excited to read more from this author and this series.
Stella owns a Christmas tree farm... but unfortunately, business is not booming. There is an entire pasture of trees dying, shipments going missing, and a band of rowdy raccoons taking over. Stella has no choice but to entire an online contest where the cash prize and publicity can pull her out of ruin. However, after hoping to win romance points, she lies in her application about it being a couple owned farm. Stella has no such partner.. unless she can convince her bff to go along with the ploy.
I really enjoyed this one! I am not the biggest friends to lovers advocate but I am a fan of fake dating. However, because they acted as a couple already, the fake dating felt a little lacking. And I didn't love her nickname?! Feels like a weird thing to comment on but because it was throughout the entire thing I feel like I have to mention it LOL However, they had this sort of friendship/relationship that was just comforting and enjoyable to read about. It wasn't overly christmasy either so if you aren't a huge holiday romance fan, I'm sure you'd still enjoy this one. This one really was the cutest.
I love this series by BK Borison. I have read this book twice now, once as an arc in December of 2021 when it was self published and again just now. You will love Stella and Luka and the whole Lovelight crew!
this was so stinking cute!!! i want to read it again except tab everything because i’m obsessed. finally a fun, light, quirky little holiday romance book that wasn’t just full of smut but was filtered in perfectly and had you hooked in the romance between these two characters. i loved everything about it, it was an ultimate cozy read, perfect for the holiday season. i would love to go to the lovelight tree farm because it sounds like an absolute christmas dream
I'd heard about this book right after the holidays, and the cover drew me in instantly. The book itself fully lives up to that cover and is the perfect fairly cozy, though emotionally deep, holiday read. I can't wait to re-read it next holiday season.
This is one of the best small town romance book series. BK Borison is a genius and I love her characters and book world so much! So excited for more from this author.
Do you want to read an extra cute, feel-good, heartwarming small town holiday story with a great mashup of fake dating and friends-to-lovers tropes? If your answer is YES, then this is the BEST fit for your expectations.
At each chapter, your heart warms up as you get introduced to the characters, learning more about their pasts, dreams, burdens, and predicaments. You easily get engaged with them and enjoy seeing how the townies have each other's backs, how selfless people reach out with helping hands, and how they defend their tight-knit community.
Stella Boom is the main heroine who has dreamed of having a tree farm after years of long walks, losing herself in rows of trees as a therapeutic experience. She had a lonely childhood, losing her mother at a young age and being abandoned by her father, and has been keeping up pretenses for only Thanksgiving dinners.
Her dream finally came true at a big financial price! She is ready to do anything in her power to keep her Lovelight Farms afloat, but dead trees, raccoon infestations, and missing shipments make things even worse.
Then she finds out about a competition announced by a popular Instagram influencer with a 100-thousand-dollar prize. She enters the contest with a crazy idea quickly formed in her mind: she writes a fake love story about her nonexistent boyfriend who helps her with the farm to raise her chances of winning. But when she surprisingly becomes a finalist and the famous influencer announces a visit to her tree farm, she panics. How can she find a boyfriend in a short notice who will act like he's interested in both the tree farm and her?
Luckily, her childhood friend Luka enters the picture to save the day.
Facts: Stella has had a long-time crush on Luka, but she never came clean about her feelings to not jeopardize their long-time friendship. When Luka comes up with a plan that involves fake dating, she realizes it will be more challenging to restrain her feelings for him.
Overall, this is a lovely, sweet, soft, and lighthearted read that I absolutely enjoyed!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for sharing this lovely book's digital reviewer copy with me in exchange for my honest thoughts.
Reading Lovelight Farms is like getting a warm hug from your favorite person. I absolutely devoured this story in AUGUST, so I cannot wait to read it in the wintertime because I know it'll be even better (is that possible? stay tuned...). Stella runs a holiday tree farm, but she unknowingly inherited some debt from the previous owner and something has been causing suspicious problems around the farm. She pretends to have a boyfriend to get a feature on an influencer's page, and there is only one man for the job: her best friend Luka. Luka is one of the sweetest men I have ever read about. I would say I want him for myself but honestly him and Stella are too perfect together that I could never break them up. This is the perfect romantic comedy full of love and laughter. I highly recommend this book to everyone!! I can't wait to read Mixed Signals next!
Thank you to Berkley for the eArc.
This book was such a warm hug and I loved it. The intimacy between the main couple was amazing and made the relationship very easy to root for. The dialogue and banter between the couple, as well as the side characters, was well done and created a really nice dynamic. I was also a very big fan of the side characters and quirky small town setting as it really made this story complete.
I will be recommending this book to anyone looking for an amazing holiday themed romance, or even just a really great best friends to lovers story.
Oh my gosh I absolutely loved this book! It’s my favorite of the series. Luka was ultimate book boyfriend material!
This was such a warm, cozy, wholesome romance. I love how much I fell in love with the characters and how much I was rooting for Stella and Luka.
A charming, Christmas-y story with adorable main characters. I will be recommending this to romance lovers around Christmas time.
