It's a cute and adorable book, it helps to learn how to draw kawaii doggies.
Thanks NetGalley for the arc
Cool book that gave me alot of tips and ideas when drawing kawaii doggies. I love dachshunds so I have drawn alot of those. The instructions are clear and the book is very cute. Loved it!
I am trying to improve my art skills and was excited to see this book. I really liked the range of options included and it has certainly inspired me to try new things. I've also bought the Cat version by the same author.
Cute how to draw book with popular Kawaii style. My students love having this resource available for when they finish their artwork and have some downtime.
Some really cute dogs
Self-taught artist and creator of web comics Olive Yong presents her second book (after Kawaii Kitties) entitled "Kawaii Doggies. Learn to Draw over 100 Adorable Pups in All their Glory", published by Quarto Publishing Group – Rock Point. After the introduction Yong covers topics such as "What is Kawaii?", "Tools", "Drawing Your Doggies", and "Coloring Your Doggies". The main part of the book is dedicated to topics such as "Favorite Breeds", "Puppies", "Poses & Moods", Dress-Up", and "Portraits" where the drawing of the various dogs (Corgi, German Shepherd, Beagle, Pug, ...) Or topics (such as "Stand", "Sit", or Dreaming") are shown in 5 to 14 steps. Yong writes: "I hope that this book inspires you to not only learn how to draw these adorable doggies, but also to create your own characters, whether they are dogs or something entirely different" (p. 8).
I really appreciated these cute dogs and the fact that the book also includes two coloring pages (although it would be nice if those could be downloaded as PDF or JPG) and a Dog Breed Directory. I recommend the book to artists who are interested in Kawaii art and are willing to spent time in trying out to achieve these or similar drawings.
The complimentary copy of this book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley free of charge. I was under no obligation to offer a positive review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This book is beyond adorable. I cannot stress this enough. I love doodling, and anything kawaii. It was really easy to follow the steps and create my own cuties.
Loved! We have the kawaii kitties book as well and absolutely love it! The dogs are so cute and instructions are easy to follow, my 7 year old has drawn every dog in the book!
A comprehensive guide on how to draw dogs of all kinds in a very kawaii style. I liked that there were poses and angles demonstrated and that so many breeds were thought of. The process is also broken down so even the most early learner can follow a long.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC copy. These are my honest thoughts on Kawaii Doggies:
First, I can't get over how ADORABLE the drawn dogs are. I really hoped I could replicate it and I found the instructions easy and simple for how to create the cutest doggies every. I was a bit disappointed that there were no Eskies or Sammies featured (except a Sammy mix...).

*received for free from netgalley for honest review* Super cute! i don't draw much anymore but i would have loved this (and drawn them everywhere) had i had this has a kid. Actually want to buy bc the drawings are just so cute!
Helped me to learn how to draw dogs. Super cute drawings and super easy to follow. I love the Kawaii series. Definitely worth the buy.
This book is very cute! This will make a great gift for dog loving friends, family, or a treat yourself moment!
Super cute, it does help learn different positions, and it is oddly calming to look at ?? Highly recommend
Dogs are full of personality, goofy, lovable, and Olive Yong has made them even more adorable in Kawaii Doggies. But this book is far more than a how-to manual for drawing your favorite drool-machine.
In addition to step-by-step instructions for drawing your own cute doggies, Yong takes the reader on a basic tutorial of kawaii-style drawing: what is it, tools of the trade, and how to get the most out of the book's tips and tricks. After mastering the basics, Yong teaches facial expressions, poses and moods, capturing daily activities and dress-up, favorite breeds and puppies, and so much more.
Overall, Kawaii Doggies is a great addition to the Kawaii Doodles book series and perfect for anyone interested in the art of kawaii or someone looking to try something a little different with their art.
The title is utterly misleading. This is so much better than described.
With super simple instructions, this book shows you not only how to draw pretty much every kind of pupper you could imagine, but also how to draw them in different poses.

IN COSTUME.
You GUYS.
Everyone should just expect that anything I hand write for them is going to come with a crappily drawn kawaii dog. Just saying.
(Crappily because of my stupid brain and hands, not because this isn't good instruction)
This is really sweet, and something my niece and nephew would absolutely love! The dogs are truly so stinking cute! The directions are easy to follow along with and the author shows you step by step, how to draw each part of the dog. Great guide for those who want to draw these pups!
Such a cute drawing guide! Perfect for all ages and would look lovely in people’s bullet journals! One of my favorites is the Afghan Hound, so adorable!!
I have been following this artist online for a few years and I have Read the other 2 how to books from this artist and this one is even better! Super cute pictures to doodle, good tips and step by steps, already been doodling a bit and put it right next to the other books!
(Thanks to Net Galley & Olive Yong for this Cute Book).
Are these not the cutest doggos ever?
I can’t draw but I love dogs! With Olive Yong’s tutorial I can now say I have whole pages of doggy doodles. The pupcake was a personal favourite of mine.
The mini-comics were absolutely adorable and I can’t wait to buy a physical copy for the colouring pages! I would definitely recommend this to all animal lovers and artists.
As someone who is just now learning to draw, this book has been a fun and easy way to learn to draw cute doggies.
The book is divided up into sections, first with explanations of the terminology and techniques, and then by dog breed, puppies, actions and other fun options.
My sketchbook now has multiple pages of cute dog drawings, and I can't wait to continue to use it to improve my art - now I would just like to get the edition with kawaii kitties!
