Yet another wonderful Christmas Tree Farm mystery! I cannot imagine a more fun place to be than Mistletoe, Maine during the Christmas holidays. I want to eat at The Hearth and play all the reindeer games. I love the way the author incorporates all the quirky characters along with one or two new ones in each new mystery. She also has a way of getting you caught up in their lives and in the ongoing murder investigation which was a fun twist in this newest installment with bringing a ballet company to town to perform the Nutcracker. I truly hope this series will continue!

Stalking Around the Christmas Tree by Jacqueline Frost is the fourth in the Christmas Tree Farm mystery series. Holly White, now an innkeeper in Mistletoe, Maine, loves nothing better than the holiday season and helping out at her family’s Christmas Tree farm Reindeer Games and their cafe Hearth. She’s also planning her Christmas Eve wedding to Evan Gray, the Mistletoe sheriff, while a ballet troupe is staying at her inn and performing The Nutcracker in the local theatre. Things couldn’t be busier or more festive that is until the lead ballerina is murdered. Holly jumps in to help Evan solve the murder to ensure that their wedding isn’t the next victim.

The Christmas season and a snowy Maine setting are the perfect backdrop for this cozy, invoking visions of sugar plums and holiday magic. I loved the friendships, the strong family dynamic and the quirky characters. As an extra twist, this book also offers a double mystery. (I reviewed an advance reader copy and all opinions are my own.) This book is the perfect read for a snowy winter afternoon.

Thank you NetGalley, Crooked Lane Books and Jacqueline Frost for allowing me to read an advanced readers copy of “Stalking Around the Christmas Tree due to be published October 17th 2023.

I haven’t read any of the other books in the series or anything from this author but it is definitely going to change now. I loved her writing and just how the book flowed. I felt everything while I was reading. This was an awesome cozy mystery that’ll I’ll remember for a long time and I’ll be looking forward to more from this author and this series.

There honestly wasn’t anything I disliked at all about this book.

This is the fourth book in this series and the second that I have read and I did enjoy this book more than the previous one. Holly and her fiancé Evan work together to solve not one but 3 mysteries prior to their wedding on Christmas Eve with the help of the towns people. I do wish Holly was a little less suspicious and she seems to have a lot of time on her hands for a woman with such a long to do list and she is getting married in less than a week. Also, the murder really kind of dragged her into investigating this time, I feel. I rate this a 3.5 and hope to read more about Holly, Libby, and Caroline in the future. Thank you to NetGalley for the advance copy to review.

My only feedback directly to the author is it didn’t make sense for Ava to go after her directly. Evan had already figured out who the killer was and Holly barely even questioned Ava.

Saving Christmas..
The fourth outing in the Christmas Tree Farm Mystery series finds Holly White on the trail of a killer as Christmas fast approaches. The ballet has come to town, the annual parade is about to begin and the town is swamped in secrets. To top it all a snowstorm is about to hit. Will Holly save the day and Christmas with it? Another fun and frothy outing, seeped in Christmas spirit, with a well drawn cast of characters and a delightful setting.

Merry Early Christmas! Thanks Netgalley publisher and Ms. Frost for this early ready for an honest review of this book! All opinions below are my personal thoughts on "Stalking Around the Christmas Tree"

Who does not love Christmas? Even the Grinch would get into this funny murder mystery. The author sets the stage for a perfect Christmas read, but it is also a great for everyday. Holly and her crew are some of the most loved characters I have ever seen. They are like a Lifetime Christmas Movie on paper. This story has love, murder, mystery, and comedy. I have never read a book by this author and I am so grateful I requested a copy of this one. It is a great standalone (the author really does do good for readers like me who have not ready the previous books, to follow along with the journey of Holly), but I do wish I had read the others before reading this one. But of course it is not stopping me from heading to purchase them now. This book will probably be my book club's Christmas choice. Thank you again for the advance copy.

Great Read! Keeps you guessing! A lot of genres rolled into one!

I had very high expectations for this book and it did not disappoint. I was in love with this series and I wanted this book to be as good and it delivered. It is one of those books that I already feel like I wish I could read for the first time again. My only hope is that by Christmas I will have forgotten enough of it that I can read it again with fresh eyes. It kept me guessing until the end and just when I thought I had figured it out something new would come to light. I laughed out loud so many times. The descriptions had me feeling like I was there on the Christmas tree farm. I highly recommend this book and the entire series. I would encourage you to read them close to Christmas though. This series is one of my all time favorites.

Holly White is preparing for Christmas, as well as her own Christmas Eve wedding.
In an opportunity to bring tourists to their Christmas town, a ballet troupe has arrived, ready to perform The Nutcracker, but we all know this won't end well.
This is a great cozy mystery series, I especially love reading Christmas themed cozies and Stalking Around the Christmas Tree is delightful.
This is easily read as a stand alone book, but I definitely suggest reading them all, you will enjoy catching up with Holly White and her friends.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for selecting me to read an advanced copy of the book.

This is book 4 in the Christmas Tree Farm mystery series. Holly White the innkeeper at the Reindeer Games Inn in Mistletoe, Maine. Holly is marrying Sheriff Evan Gray at Christmas and her inn is busy because of the Christmas parade and the staging of The Nutcracker Ballet. When disaster strikes the lead ballerina Holly is drawn into the investigation. Added to the complications is a snowstorm that is due to hit town and the fact that the company will be moving on and with the possibly the killer of Tiffany.

The fourth entry in this Christmas-themed mystery series has Holly involved in another murder investigation as she deals with her approaching wedding to Sheriff Evan, wintry weather, and her family’s usual Christmas events for their Christmas tree farm. Regular readers will enjoy catching up with the regular characters in Holly’s hometown. You could read this as a stand-alone, but it will make a lot more sense if you’ve read the series. These books are always well-written, with engaging characters and a lovely small town feel. My only complaint is that Holly’s motivation for getting so involved never completely works in this one. At times it’s hard to believe someone with so many other important things going on would devote so much time to investigating the death of someone she barely knew, or that so many people would answer her many, many questions. That said, fans of the series will enjoy this.

After a bit of a wait, this cozy series is back for a fun finale! Jacqueline Frost (aka Julie Anne Lindsey, Bree Baker, Julie Chase) brings her welcoming characters from the Christmas Tree Farm back for Holly and Evan’s wedding, and of course a murder to be solved.
Although this author excels at creating fun mysteries and characters, this gang is my personal favorite. “Cookie” Cutter just can’t be beat.
I can’t bear to spoil anything! Please trust that if you love Julie and/or cozy mysteries, you’ll love this. When you do, be sure to find her Cozy Queens Facebook group, where she’s very active (and frankly, just as charming and likable as her writing style.)

Loved it! Thanks to NetGalley and Crooked Lane Books for allowing ARC access.

Holly White works as an innkeeper in their family-owned tree farm, Reindeer Games. Her family also has a cafe ☕️ called the Hearth and her mother is a baker while her father’s a lumberjack 🪵.

Her friend Caroline had opened her shop a couple of years back with a little help from their friend Cookie, and Caroline’s Cupcakes had become an instant hit.

It’s one week before Christmas in Mistletoe, Maine and business at Reindeer Games Inn is booming, the annual parade is about to begin and Holly’s set to marry her fiancé Sheriff Evan Gray on Christmas Eve night in the big barn on their property.

For the parade, Mayor West, Caroline’s father has invited a group to perform would perform *The Nutcracker*, a holiday staple and emblem of Christmas since 1892. An effort to draw in tourists and promote local businesses.

The mayor has also made arrangements for the choreographer and several key dancers to stay at the inn 🏨

But when Tiffany Krieg, the lead ballerina 🩰 turns up dead in a float during the parade, it’s up to Holly to find out who’s responsible for the murder before Christmas and her wedding day

Thank you to Jacqueline Frost, NetGalley, and Crooked Lane Books for the arc of this book.
