I love a Lizzy Dent book. You just know you’re going on a fun ride to a happy ending, and yet… there’s a lot of depth. I love the fish out of water story… Amy, the American in London, trying something new after running away from Chris, the toxic ex/boss, and drunken escapade that all her coworkers saw. Amy trying to find her footing in a new segment of production. So when an opportunity arises that is right up her alley, we feel her excitement. And then her dread when she realizes that the new head of the development team is none other than Chris. I also loved her introduction to Jake, the downstairs neighbor that just happens to be a screenwriter… and her ticket to the new job in development… if they can work together on a new proposal. The awkwardness of their first few meetings, then to the easy comfort they have with one another as they work on their storyline and script, which leads to the undeniable attraction they have for one another. There’s also the slight fake dating aspect, in order to show Chris that Amy has moved on just fine without him.. And of course, when you mix business with pleasure, you get the unavoidable miscommunication… “did you just use me to get ahead in your career?” All in all, a great book about moving on from your past mistakes and finding your groove in your own way.

3.5 Stars
This was my first Lizzy Dent book and I ended up enjoying myself (mostly.) Amy Duffy is an up and coming tv producer who had one big embarrassing act aimed at her ex go viral. She flees America and her high profile job for a smaller tv station in London. Things are going much better and Amy is excited to learn that their is going to be a big promotion that could potentially bring her back into the world of tv producing. Unfortunately, the new person brought in to choose the winning pitch is the ex who derailed her in the first place. Amy meets her new neighbor, a struggling writer and former reality contestant, and asks him to help her write a new pilot that will win the promotion and gain him notoriety for his writing rather than his short reality tv stint.
This book opens with a bang and I admittedly wasn't ready for it. Amy decided to seek revenge against her ex and his car and I had complete secondhand embarrassment for her. I did like Amy's journey during the book and really felt her gain back some of her confidence. Sometimes though, I really wanted to shake her. Jake was the star of this book. I enjoyed his character immensely. The banter back and forth between them was funny and realistic. I loved the scenes where she brought him to the company party. The conflict with her family felt unnecessary and the third act miscommunication I could have completely done without. I'm looking forward to trying out more of Dent's books in the future.
Thank you to Lizzy Dent, NetGalley, and Penguin Group Putnam for this eARC. All opinions expressed are my own. #netgalley #thesweetestrevenge #penguingroupputnam

Whenever I need a light-hearted rom-com with a little depth, I reach for Lizzy Dent. I absolutely love her snarky writing style and her ability to make me laugh. When I saw The Sweetest Revenge described as The Bridesmaids meets Emily in Paris, I know that I would love it, and I did. Amy and Jake are the perfect friends to lovers with a few bumps along the way. Please, Lizzy Dent, don't stop creating your quirky, fun characters and putting them in messy situations with the best endings!

A love letter to TV shows! I loved all the different shows mentioned and the collaboration of our two characters. Redemption is a strong theme of this story, as is revenge, hence the title. And OH, is it SWEET. I loved both of our characters; their chemistry was strong and they both were enjoyable on their own.
I received an advance copy in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.

Well, this was an absolute delight! I loved Lizzy Dent's previous books, but this is now my favorite and secured her on my list of auto-buy rom-com authors.
This book checks all the boxes of things I love in a rom-com: set in London, a main character with an interesting job (I loved all the bits about behind-the-scenes television development), friends-to-lovers trope, and a cast of great characters. This felt like a fresh take on the 'set in Hollywood' rom-com trend we've seen these last few years.
Dent's writing is lovely; it's intelligent, funny, and witty. I could easily picture this as a classic early 2000s rom-com movie while reading. I'll be recommending this to everyone!

“This family never gets it right, but we will die trying” — The Sweetest Revenge
The Sweetest Revenge is about Amy Duffy, a former NYC television exec who moved to London for a simpler life following a very public humiliation. Two years later, some new professional opportunities emerge, and Amy begins to take steps back towards her former life with the help of her new neighbor who happens to be a handsome writer.
This was a great read! It was funny and heartwarming, but also had a bit of an edge. It was rom-com genre, without being too predictable at all. I was surprised several times throughout the book. There were also tons of fun pop culture and television references— marry me!
This was the first book I’ve read by Lizzy Dent, and I’m immediately adding her other books to my TBR! Thank you to netgalley and G. P. Putnam’s Sons for this electronic arc in exchange for an honest review.

When TV producer Amy Duffy is betrayed by her boss/secret boyfriend and suffers a public humiliation, she flees to London, and finds work at a failing British TV company making trailers. Two years later, when CTV gets bought out, fresh blood is brought in to right the ship and Amy finds herself face to face with her old boss/ex and finds her passion for TV ( and a little revenge )is reinvigorated! A “pitch competition” arises at work, and she is finally ready to get back in there again. Her new neighbor, Jack, a screenwriter who recently faced his own public humiliation, agrees to help her work on her pitch by writing a sample script and sparks fly!
This one was charming! I really enjoyed the banter between the two MC’s and I really enjoyed the side character of Maggie. Lizzy does a wonderful job balancing the cuteness with humor. I think this book would make a super cute rom-com movie! I have previously read the authors debut “The Summer Job” and also really liked it, so if you read it too, then this one’s for you!

So sweet & lighthearted, just as I remember “The Setup” by Lizzy! Similar set up, with the British summer setting & a deadline for FMC to meet. Begins with tumultuous breakup that FMC Amy continues to grapple with & distanced relationship with family. Strong female lead! Also features forced proximity/neighbor trope, fake dating and famous boy trope, and a revenge plot-line. Always love the irony in Lizzy’s books! This book is even hotter than her previous and the slow buildup and sexual tension was to die for! Can’t wait to read even more from her.

“‘You should still go for that job because it’s the career you deserve. The best revenge is success, honey. Show him what you’re made of.’ ‘I pissed on his car,’ I remind her.”
This book was hysterical! I can’t even remember the last time I laughed out loud this much with a book.
Amy Duffy was just so FUN and the Duffy family dynamics were hysterical and so realistic. And the narrator?! Man @britpressley nails it! Like wow. She IS this character. She kills the accents, the humor, the comedic timing, literally every aspect of this audiobook is *chefs kiss*. I didn’t read one word of this with my eyes because I wanted her to continue immersing me in Amy’s hysterical world of making mistakes, trying so hard to be better, making more mistakes, and then, eventually, getting it right. So right.
“I rest my head on his shoulder. It is more than holding someone; it is a release. It is letting go and holding on at the same time. It is the very beginnings of love.”
If you listen to audiobooks I highly recommend downloading this one for your summer beach reading pleasure!
Thank you for the free audiobook @PRHAudio and @putnambooks, @lizzy.dent and @netgalley for the ARC.

This was an unexpected read for me! It was an interesting look into the world of television, and I liked the cozy, British vibes It comes out of the gate kicking, so it you like your books with little lag time, this is the one for you! The writing style was great, and easy to read.
Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and Lizzy Dent for the advanced copy to read.

Our story starts with rising TV producer Amy Duffy discovering that her boyfriend/boss has totally screwed her over at work to protect himself. What follows is a drunken meltdown that causes her to miss her cousin’s wedding and finishes with her taking out her frustration on (now ex) boyfriend’s Audi. Which is caught on film, bridesmaid dress and all.
Feeling too ashamed to face her family or her work, Amy flees NY for London, where she returns to television, but never quite doing what she wants. Two years later, a merger is announced that offers an opportunity for her to get back into development. Which is super thrilling til she finds out that one of the new hires is none other than her ex.
Meanwhile, she also discovers her new neighbor is Jake Jones, the most recent castoff from a popular reality tv show. Jake just so happens to be a writer and the perfect collaborator to help her land this new job. Jake could also teach her a thing or two about facing her lingering humiliation head on. Do I even have to say it? Sparks fly.
A fun little revenge story, this one really picked up for me in the last third, but so often I found myself wanting to shake Amy for being so naive and self-absorbed at times.

4 stars - After a drunken night, Amy decides to take revenge on her boss/ex-boyfriend's Audi, and the whole situation is recorded and posted on the internet. Amy decides to run away to London for a fresh start at a low-ranking job making TV trailers. She meets her hot neighbor, Jake who is hiding from his own embarrassing viral moment. Just as Amy's life seems to be looking up, her ex comes back into her life.
This book was a sweet rom-com. The banter between Amy and Jake was quite entertaining. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it for a quick, easy read.
Thanks to PENGUIN GROUP Putnam and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Amy Duffy had it all. A promising career, a relationship and was on her way to her cousin's wedding when her boyfriend/boss (Chris), at work decided that this is the time to talk about her project at work and their relationship. It does not go over well, and Amy does something that she will never live down or forget as her actions have been captured and put on social media.
She moves to a new job and is doing well, until the day her ex-boyfriend, Chris, is her new boss! She just can't shake this man. There is a good part of her life - her neighbor Jake (no stranger to public humiliation himself) who is helping her with a competition at work.
This was a cute rom com with some not so cute language thrown in. I don't mind an F bomb but there was another word that Amy loved to throw around that was a tad annoying.
I did enjoy the characters of both Amy and Jake. Both were likeable and fun to read about. This was an engaging tale about starting over, moving on, owning your mistakes, some sweet revenge and standing up for yourself. This was a nice fast read that had me cheering for some characters and booing for another.
I enjoyed that this wasn’t an insta love or insta lust type of book. Things progressed nicely and relationships were formed. Plus, Amy is a fun character to read about.
Well written, engaging, fun and sweet!

Television producer Amy Duffy is not just one bad day, regardless of how bad that actual day was. Imagine missing your cousin’s wedding, getting very drunk, and peeing on top of your former boss turned ex-boyfriend’s Audi while a group of strangers film your meltdown for everyone on the internet. Two years, a move from New York City (the scene of THE INCIDENT) to London, and a career shift later, Amy is finally beginning to believe she is more than just one bad day. Career opportunities are opening up to her at work and a gorgeous neighbor who may have just embarrassed himself on national television has moved into Amy’s building looking for a fresh start. This may turn into the comeback Amy needs…until her ex-boyfriend, he of pee-soaked Audi fame, arrives in London as her new boss and brings with him a fresh wave of doubt for our plucky protagonist.
This laugh-out-loud novel was a sheer delight. Who hasn’t dreamed of dropping to the floor and crawling away from someone we don’t want to see or buying ourselves an inflatable pool to drink our sorrows away in? I love the friendships in this novel between Amy and Maggie as well as Amy and hot neighbor turned love interest Jake. The cover of The Sweetest Revenge will make you pick this book up, but the story of Amy rebuilding her life and becoming her own advocate will make you keep reading! Do not miss this adorable rom-com, out July 25th.

After a drunken incident goes viral on social media, Amy moves to London to hide from embarrassment and continue working in television, albeit in a more junior role. Unfortunately, things do not go to plan as there's a merger in the company and her ex-boss (and ex) Chris is introduced as her new temporary boss. At the same time, Amy gets a new neighbor, Jake, who's hiding from his own embarrassing moment after a stint on "Fantasy Island," a reality TV show.
I thought this was a very cute, quick and easy read - and I can't say I never thought about fleeing NY for London!

After her boss/secret boyfriend made a decision that hurt her career, Amy gets drunk and takes revenge on his Audi, and it goes viral. Two years later, she has started over in London and finally has an opportunity to get her career back on track AND she’s been flirting with her new downstairs neighbor. But when that ex suddenly becomes her new boss, she is determined to not let get life fall apart again,
Amy’s backstory had me cringing and laughing at the same time - the second-hand embarrassment of going viral for revenge on an ex was REAL. I appreciated Amy’s growth throughout this story, although I have to admit she really irritated me at times. I felt the issue with her family was very unnecessary and was a bit disappointed in her. That being said, I did enjoy her relationship with Jake and their banter.
Thank you to Putnam Books and NetGalley for the advance copy.

I've always been a big Lizzy Dent fan, her novel The Summer Job got me back into reading after a long break. Her books have unique themes and characters and this one was right on track.
After packing up her things and moving to Europe after a bad night goes viral, Amy starts to put her career back on track when none other than the man who caused her to move walks into her new workplace threatening to derail her life once again. With the help of her new neighbor, she might write her own story, one that she and everyone else can be proud of.
Overall the plot and characters are great but the end revenge was just a bit unsatisfying, will I continue to read and buy all her books: 110%.
Thank you NetGalley and Penguin Group - Putnam for this ARC, available now!

I knew I was in for a treat because I’ve really enjoyed all of Lizzy’s books in the past. The humour is on point and the characters always feel so real and relatable, and The Sweetest Revenge is no exception.
Amy’s story was full of cringey moments and was very funny. I loved delving into her world of working in TV (I found that SO interesting) and I enjoyed the fact they were writing a script for a crime show within a romance novel - it just felt very fun to see one genre inside another.
I liked seeing her and Jake working together and the playful banter they shared. I also really liked that they both knew they wanted more than friendship, and they communicated that, but maturely decided to put the project first. I love good communication in a romance.
I very much enjoyed Amy's final act of revenge on Chris, and he truly truly deserved it - what a slime-ball! And I loved that she just owned the embarrassing video in the end. True self-empowerment.
This was a really fun, summery read for me. I whizzed through it, which is always a sign I’ve enjoyed myself! I could definitely imagine reading this book by the pool on holiday.

Amy is in a secret relationship with her boss, and when that goes tits up with an embarrassing, albeit hilarious incident involving his car, she flees New York for London. Only he then becomes her new boss there! Determined to fight for the future he took from her, she teams up with her super gorgeous neighbour Jake who has secrets of his own, and what ensues is a sweet, sexy summer of fun!
- I love Lizzy! Her books are autoboys for me and I was so excited to be on this readalong and super starstruck when I met her at the book party! I talked Amy with her and how relatable and funny I saw her as a main character. The scene involving her boss’s car is one that will have everyone wishing they could do the same to their ex! This book is a laugh out loud sizzler that will be sure to cheer your life up! This is a slow burn, fade to black romance however it doesn’t take away from the sexual tension and the cheer that you let out at the end!

The Sweetest Revenge is a delightful, heartwarming, and incredibly satisfying read. I found myself compelled to slow down and relish every moment until the very end. This book is an absolute gem, filled with humor, heartache, and moments that will make you swoon.
