Tbh, this is 4.5⭐️

Amy Duffy is a millennial hot mess, who is not only relatable in her awkwardness, but also someone I would want to be friends with IRL.

Her chaos is understandable given what she went through in the beginning of her story, and the resulting anxiety and insecurities made her seem real. It’s not always easy to own one’s mistakes and let inner strength shine through, but with Jack’s help (and that of her bestie Maggie) watching Amy find herself again was a delight.

While Jack was a great foil for Amy; we got to witness his growth after his own humiliation, and saw the power someone believing in you and encouraging you not to give up on your dreams can have. I loved their journeys, both together and separate.

I definitely recommend this sweet and hilarious story to all my friends.

I absolutely loved this book! The romance was adorable and a delight to read, the show and tv references were excellent, and I’ll be rereading this again ASAP.

Thank you NetGalley and Penguin for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

This was such a good book!! I was laughing out loud so much! I absolutely adored the FMC, Amy, and all of her quirkiness. I wish I could be her friend in real life. The banter and tension between her and Jake was great! I loved them teaming up to work together and I LOVED all of their moments on the terrace. This book was so much fun and had lots of heartfelt moments as well.

This book is STRAIGHT comedy, heavy on the revenge, very very light on the romance side, but I couldn’t stop laughing this one was good on that. We have Amy who is making her comeback after this huge and humiliating break up with her ex who is a douche, in London. She meets Jake who is her neighbor and someone she really is interested in, and then her ex comes back into the picture, while she is trying to move up in her career. There is so much going on, and at times a little slow, but I loved the characters and Amy for sure has a backbone! I love that in characters.

I really liked this one! It’s a bit of a slow burn and the spice is closed door but the humor is real and the MC is fantastic. There are drunken escapades, great banter, and of course the best type of revenge. If you are looking for a funny romance and a quick read pick this one up!

This is such a fun story! I am not usually all-in for the slow-burn romance, but while some books seem to do it for no apparent reason, in this book it works. Amy and Jake are working on something together, and it has a deadline, and if they let their relationship progress it would be too distracting. It makes sense. I love that they freely admit to having growing feelings for each other, and the flirting and sexual tension have more of an impact knowing that they will not act on it until after the project is complete.

Also, Amy's ex Chris is a douchebag, and he totally deserved what happened to his Audi at the beginning of the novel.

This was very much a typical RomCom with the MCs banter, a little bit of spice (not too much actually) and a girl that is down on her luck. Overall, it was an okay read.

This was a fun lighthearted read that was a quick page turner for me. Low on steaminess and romance, it’s more of a romcom coupled with the story of a girl just trying to move past one bad viral video.
Amy Duffy flees her job in Development In television in New York when she’s caught on tape seeking revenge on her ex who also happens to have been her boss that just canned her pitch for a murder series. Seeking refuge in London, Amy takes on a different job in tv where she hopes to rebuild her name and her career. As luck would have it, a VERY hot neighbor moves in who is also trying to fly under the radar after embarrassingly leaving a reality TV show. It isn’t long before he and Amy hit it off as friends and possibly more as they realize they both have writing in common.
I think I expected a little more heat from Amy and Jake even if their situation called for them to wait. Readers should know they stay mostly “coworkers”/friends for the majority of the novel and lovers for the tail end. But if that doesn’t discourage you, then this was an enjoyable read. The writing is solid, the story itself original and the characters likable. I loved the parts where Amy and Jake went researching in London for show ideas and felt like I learned a little bit about London in the process. Their banter is sweet and funny and Jake could really not be a more adorable character. I also really enjoyed Maggie as a friend and could envision her getting her own book. Thank you to G. P. Putnam’s Sons and NetGalley for my advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

The Sweetest Revenge is a sparkling work place romance from the wonderful Lizzy Dent, and is the perfect poolside or beach read for this season.
Amy fled to London two years ago following a disastrous break up with her duplicitous boss Chris and an act of drunken revenge that went viral. She is slowly getting her career as a TV producer back on track and when her company announces that they are being bought out by a larger multinational corporation, and are looking for new ideas to pitch and hopefully bring to the screen she thinks it might finally be her time to shine. Her hopes take something of a bashing however when the representative from the parent company is none other than her ex Chris.
Meanwhile she is finding herself increasingly drawn to her new neighbour Jake, who has moved in downstairs following a disastrous stint on a reality television series. When she learns of his past as a failed screenwriter Amy thinks that working together could give her the edge she needs in her work and might give Jake the chance to take back some control of his future. Creating the perfect series together would definitely be the sweetest revenge , and if sparks continue to fly the way they have been between the couple the relationship could definitely become more than professional .
This is a light hearted romance, the pace is definitely a bit of a slow burn but I loved both Amy and Jake as characters and was really rooting for them as a couple. I appreciated that both had flaws and issues that they needed to overcome as individuals before they were able to come together. As I have come to expect from Lizzy Dent , there is plenty of humour in the storytelling and dialogue , I definitely found myself giggling from time to time as I read.
I read and reviewed an ARC courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher ,all opinions are my own.

I have had a great time reading Lizzy Dent's books and so was happy to get an advanced copy of her latest from Netgalley! Amy's TV producing career gets tanked one night when she drunkenly decides to get revenge on her boss/ex-boyfriend by peeing on his Audi, while wearing a bridesmaid dress (she never makes it to the wedding). Now she is hiding out in London working for a failing TV station making trailers for shows and playing it safe. After 2 years she thinks she is finally ready to start producing again and with a company merger, she just might get her shot. To top it all off her new neighbor, Jake, that's moved in downstairs is absolutely gorgeous and there is definitely a spark. The 2 team up to write/pitch a show to hopefully get Amy that promotion but things take a turn when the new temporary head of the department turns out to be none other than her ex-boyfriend.

I have had the pleasure of reading and reviewing all of Lizzy Dent's books to date and they never disappoint and always leave me laughing uncontrollably at times! This one was no different and I look forward to seeing what she has up her sleeve next.

This was such a fun book! Amy works in television and gets screwed over by her boss/guy she’s secretly sleeping with. After a drunken incident to get back at her boss shows up on video and goes viral, Amy runs away to London to escape the humiliation. She soon meets her new neighbor, who also has a humiliating incident involving a reality TV show, and they are both instantly attracted to each other.

I really enjoyed the story and the two MC’s were great. It’s fast paced and a great read. I gave this a solid 4 stars and highly recommend. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I’d like to thank Insta Book Tours for having me on the tour. I have loved Lizzy’s previous books and couldn’t wait to read this one.

😂Our story starts with Amy and an unfortunate drunken incident, that had me laughing out loud. From here the entertainment just keeps coming. Lizzy Dent’s humour is on point in this story and I found it impossible not to giggle away.

💖The sexual tension between Jake and Amy is through the roof! I loved watching the sparks fly, whilst desperately hoping they finally admit their true feelings.

🧑🏻‍❤️‍💋‍👩🏻As our leading characters, I not only loved the potential of Amy and Jake as a couple, but also as individuals. They were imperfectly perfect with their own struggles but completely relatable. I felt that I really got to know both of them and their families through the story, I was sad to leave them all behind,.

⭐Once again Lizzy Dent does not disappoint. This rom-com is packed with fun, loving characters, hilarity and so much sex appeal, you’ll need to cool down after!

There were a few hiccups in me getting access to my copy of The Sweetest Revenge, but it was definitely worth the wait.

I read it pretty quickly and totally rooted for Amy and Jake.

I don't know what I'd have done in Amy's situation but it shows that smartphones may be a useful tool, but they can also allow people to be intrusive and undermine others privacy. Once something goes online, it is always going to be there.

Jake's humiliation was totally different and some might say that going on TV you have to accept that people will know you.

When these two damaged souls meet over wrongful deliveries and meetings on a sunny terrace with a paddling pool and booze, working on a pitch for a new tv series, sparks start to fly.

With something to prove, Amy and Jake work tirelessly on a pitch that should see Amy rise to her full potential, and help Jake realise his dream as a writer, but can she and Jake resist the pull of seduction? Will her messy past catch up to her? Or can she pull herself together and get her well deserved revenge?

A cute little romantic, coming of age story that I could totally see on the big screen, but I have to say, Dry Bones definitely got me intrigued!

This is my first Lizzy Dent read but it won't be my last.

This book was indeed a humorous read, a slow burner. While it did take me around a week to complete, as I often found myself forgetting I was reading it due to my lack of investment, it was still a decent read.
Jake was a character that I truly liked for his kindness, and Amy was simply comedic with her antics. However, I personally feel that Amy's actions were not so horrendous to the point of avoiding her family. After all, who hasn't encountered some sort of awkward relationship drama, right?

Thank you netgalley, penguin group putnam for sending me an arc copy for review

Unlike the title suggests, the Sweetest Revenge takes us briefly into the world of TV development, not a bakery or confectionary shop. And it ends up not being about the revenge after all.

Amy Duffy is a flawed and fierce protagonist who is sadly drowning under the shame of an embarrassing 'viral' video. Jake Jones is a beautiful angsty writer and short-lived reality star who goes through a similar viral video embarrassment, except he takes it on the chin and gets through it much faster and easier than Duffy does. I enjoyed reading their story, and enjoyed them as characters - though I have to admit, I'm a little over the rom-com trope of two people being instantly attracted to each other from the get go and 'fighting it'. I enjoyed their flirtationship and honesty.

The flirty MCs are just too cute not to love. They compliment each other’s personality, I could not stop reading. My cheeks hurt from smiling too much.

After a humiliating breakup with her boyfriend and a subsequent rift with her family, Amy runs away to London to lick her wounds and start her life over and start a new career making tv trailers. Soon she meets her hot new neighbor, who happens to be an ex reality show contestant, who has some healing of his own to do. They decide to work together to write a new script to bring to the network, and just as Amy is feeling confide that things are finally going her way, her ex makes a sudden reappearance, which resurfaces a lot of unresolved emotions and issues at work that Amy has to deal with before she can move forward with Jake and with her career.
I liked watching Amy get her strength back and get over the humiliation and use it to her advantage. My criticism would be the use of the F word. So un-lady like. I know, I know. It’s 2023. I get it, but still I could do without it. But it was still a fun read overall

Thanks to G.P. Putnam Son’s for this eArc in exchange for my review.

This was a cute book. I appreciate that it was fairly clean. I felt the romance was a little forced at the beginning though and it could’ve easily been a little shorter.
