Jake and Amy have both had an embarrassing moment in the spotlight, can they put these behind them and be more than colleagues. A great read, I would have liked an epilogue from Jake's point of too.

👉 This was such a fun read, I really loved Amy and she’s just as potty-mouthed as I am! I really enjoyed the TV show set, was great to see Lizzy’s insider knowledge peeking through from her previous careers. There were parts of this book I was reading and could imagine being on a drunk FT call with Amy as she debriefed me on the drama of the day. I flew through this book - once again another Lizzy Dent release I’ll be adding to the shelf upon release!

3.5 ⭐️ This story was enjoyable from start to finish. I liked the characters especially the MMC. The romance was very slow burn, but over all I felt the story’s main purpose was to see the journey the FMC took in finding her inner strength to take back control over a situation which she was embarrassed about and felt haunted by for years.

This was an entertaining romcom. Lizzy Dent has a way of creating humorous, witty and relatable characters that you enjoy with every flip of the page. Amy moves to London, escaping from a bad breakup with her ex-boyfriend/ex-boss. When she finally has a chance to excel at her mediocre job, she discovers that her new boss is the ex-boyfriend she was running away from while working towards starting a relationship with her new neighbor, Jake. It's an interesting situation and makes for a disastrous set of events as Amy finally works through getting closure from everything that happened in her past.

The Sweetest Revenge was compulsively readable from the first chapter. I loved the banter between the main characters and the relationships depicted in this novel. The friendships and family relationships were lovely to see alongside a budding romance. The tension and chemistry between the main characters really builds and is definitely sexy! I will absolutely continue to read Lizzy Dent's books; she hasn't let me down yet!

Okay, but this book was so cute? When I went into it, I was looking for a sweet, fun palate cleanser between heavy fantasy novels, and it was exactly that and even more.

After a drunken act of revenge against her ex boyfriend/boss goes *horribly* wrong, Amy makes the decision to literally flee the country to escape the fallout. Two years later, Amy has been living a more or less satisfying life with one of her closest friends nearby and a job she enjoys, despite being massively overqualified for it. But just when she thinks the biggest news around the office is the latest drama from everyone's favorite reality dating show where a contestant left the show in the most outrageous way, her whole life is turned upside down. Suddenly, Jake--that same contestant from the reality show--is her downstairs neighbor accidentally sending all of his packages to her place as he moves in, and a possible promotion at work as companies merge brings even more shocking news than that.

After two years spent trying to convince herself that she isn't a failure, now Amy has the chance to not only win the job of her dreams doing what she's always loved and been *amazing* at, but the chance to find love with an incredible guy. Just as long as she can keep her head on straight with all of the pressures of the application process and with writing a full show script with her new crush.

The Sweetest Revenge was funny, sweet, and had just that hint of snark and spice that I always love in a leading lady. Amy Duffy was exactly the kind of character you find yourself relating to and rooting for without even realizing, and it was all around just a really fun story to read. I can't wait to go out and read more Lizzy Dent after this one.

So I might not be able to recommend this one to my students, but I have enjoyed making the recommendations to my friends! Lizzy Dent is such a fun author. I thoroughly enjoy her work and feel like I know the characters as my own friends. This was a great read!

First off what a freaking fun cover! No one could walkway without picking this one up. And they wouldn’t be disappointed. The book is as entertaining and fun as it looks!

After a humiliating incident at a bar is captured on video, she flees to London and goes into hiding.

And wouldn’t you know it, she ends up meeting another soul who also is fleeing public embarrassment of his own.

Such a cute clever romcom tale.

The main character was quite unlikeable and I couldn't connect well with her. The story felt dragging and flat overall and uninteresting, considering how the cover seems to be fun and engaging.

Lizzy Dent's books are always a delight! Filled with humor, great banter and swoon worthy couples, I'm never disappointed. If you enjoy friends-to-lovers and stories about TV production, this one is for you.

I found this book to be entertaining during the beginning chapter. However, as the book progressed, Amy's inner thoughts about an event two years ago got a little old. I also wanted more romance and less ex revenge.

The Sweetest Revenge had me hooked in the beginning but towards the end, I found myself really unable to connect with the MC Amy. As others have mentioned, I found myself really questioning her decisions toward the later half of the book. While it was really obvious that Amy and Jake were attracted to each other...their chemistry didn't really jump off the page.

A predictable rom-com but not in a bad way. Funny and so cute! I liked all the references to media (television/entertainment). Amy Duffy is a delightfully charming hot mess who bounces back from viral humiliation with style! 4 stars. Thank you Putnam Books and NetGalley for this e-arc!

A friends to more romance with a slightly chaotic heroine (or is her life just chaotic).
Plenty of laughs to mix with the chemistry that fades to black on page.
