They was my first story by this author and I will definitely be looking for more. The story, characters and situations are so original and unique compared to others in this genre I have read. I enjoyed the personality that was given to the character’s and all the spice.
Thank you to Netgalley and crew for an ARC copy of The Virgin Hunt.
where do I begin? I will frame this review as a compliment sandwich... First, some good things:
the book is quite interesting, I really liked the characters and the world building? "chef's kiss" no noticeable infodumps, and zero clunky phrasing that took me out of the story.
the bad middle. The premise. I am not sure what it was about the writing that made my innards squirm a little bit. I will do my best to phrase it without including spoilers. The premise is... how shall we say... unconventional but also predictable. It is a reverse-gay panic hunger games. You have to catch people and have sex with them, and to be straight in this work, as it is a matriarchal society, is a cardinal sin. I understand where the author was going with this, and I also understand why this would be an interesting thing to explore. The dynamic of having the way some people see the LGBTQ+ community turned on their heads. I have a problem with the fact that it is not a matriarchal society. It is a vision of what someone who grew up in a patriarchal society would create without looking into or honoring what matriarchal societies would look like. It is a missed opportunity, in my opinion, and it really saddened me to see how it was handled, given that bisexual erasure is a very real issue that is faced daily by those in the community.
the other half of the compliment sandwich: take what I said above with a grain of salt. It is erotic romantasy and if you can suspend your disbelief on the above mentioned aspects and just want to get lost in a really cool, very well done world with consistent characters and spicy scenes? go for it.
You don’t really need to know much about this to see what your getting into here. Between the title and the cover it’s pretty obvious. I’ll say it though, this was actually pretty good. There’s lots and lots of terrible writing in the fantasy erotica genre and this is not that. While the concept here is crazy and shameless, this book is worth it.
There’s a surprising amount of plot, and decent character perspective. The commentators through me for a loop at times but this was easy enough to get into and moved along very quickly.
I’d definitely recommend to fans of the Ice Planet Barbarians series!
Plot, what plot? While the title should tell you everything you need to know about this book, I was still expecting a little more sci-fi drama to this tale. There wasn't. The plot that was there was interesting but served little purpose other than to advance the spice. If that's what you're looking for, this book is for you.
This was a NetGalley review.
"The Virgin Hunt Games" by Mel Teshco is a fast-paced and steamy sci-fi romance that is sure to keep readers on the edge of their seats. The book follows warrior Alita Silver, who is competing in the Virgin Hunt Games in the hopes of earning a promotion that has been just out of reach. However, this time, the rules have changed, and the virginal women are now the hunters.
Stetson Jamb, Alita's rival and former lover, is also competing in the games. He remembers Alita well, and winning the games would not only earn him the credits he needs to rebuild his life but also satisfy his need for revenge. The tension between Alita and Stetson is electric, and their love-hate relationship adds a layer of complexity to the story.
The world-building in this book is impressive, and the author does an excellent job of creating a vivid and immersive sci-fi universe. The action scenes are thrilling and well-written, and the romance is steamy and passionate.
The story is fast-paced, with plenty of twists and turns to keep readers engaged. The concept of the Virgin Hunt Games is intriguing, and the author explores the ethical and moral implications of such a competition.
Overall, "The Virgin Hunt Games" is a fun and exciting read that will appeal to fans of sci-fi and romance alike. Mel Teshco has crafted an engaging and entertaining story that is sure to leave readers satisfied.
Survial, sex, and betrayal in this reality fantasy adventure experience. Each book builds on the same foundation - the hunter versus the hunted. More secrets, betrayal, weapons, fire, blood, creatures, and a chance to overcome expectations and obligations.
In this latest installment the rules have changed, the stakes are higher, and the orgasms matter. When Stetson and Alita reuninte they have unfinished business to address. What really happened the last time there saw each other? Did she really try to kill him? Who will stay true to their partner and who will be stabbed in the back, or worse?
If you love steamy erotic sci-fi then this book is for you. Not for the faint of heart as there is a heavy balance
of scorch and descriptive scenes when characters are fighting for the prize.
The latest addition to The Virgin Hunt Games series features a warrior heroine entering the game not as the pursued, but as the pursuer. With the switched role, the hero is focused on pairing up with the heroine for vengeance. As the competition continues on, the couple will learn more about each other and their competitors in a place where sex and war are fair game, and they must survive until said game is over.
This is a solid addition to this sci-fi erotica series. Each book is provided enough information to be read as a standalone. This particular book has switched the rules a bit, and I found it entertaining to read about. It provided a role that is better suited for the heroine and helped show the hero in a different light. Overall, an entertaining read and I look forward to more books in this Mel Teshco series in the future.
** Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the review copy. All opinions and thought in the review are my own. **
The Virgin Hunt Games Volume 4. I'm already familiar with this Author having read volume 1. I have skipped a couple of volumes in between to read this one. I like the change of the Heroine being the Hunter. It brings another dimension and perspective to the story. It is a fun galactic read. Very fast pace and full of spice.
ARC provided by the publisher via Netgalley and the opinion expressed here is my own.
This was a solid read. V spicy. I wish there was more angsty moments between Alita and Stetson in which they fully talked more of their past. Overall, def spice galore.
Fast paced, exciting characters, and a game of love and lust! This was a new author and series for me but it was easy to get sucked into the world and follow the story concept!
The Virgin Hunt Games Volume 4 is book four in Mel Teshco’s Virgin Hunt Games erotica series. Though part of a series, it reads as a standalone.
Alita Silver is from an all-female planet but has interacted with one man in particular, fellow Games contestant, Stetson Jamb. Their interactions left them both with intense emotions they plan to exercise in the Games.
Mel Teshco is a phenom of world-building. New scenery, creatures, and beings abound in the latest installment in the series. This ending is also satisfying. Yet another 4 out of 5.
My thanks to Entangled Publishing, LLC and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.
This is the first book in the series that I’ve read. I truly didn’t expect to love this as much as I did. You have playboyxvirgin, enemies to lovers, forbidden romance and hate f*cking.
The plot is absolutely phenomenal. The game it self is twisted but sexy. Not only is there amazing smut but the action parts will keep you on the edge of you seat. The world building is great. As someone who sometimes has a difficult part understanding fantasy, this was great. Overall this is a really great read and like nothing else I’ve ever read.

Thank you NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the chance to read the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review!
Okay, I’m giving this three stars - and at complete fault of my own it was most definitely an “it’s me not you” moment, I don’t know what I thought this book was about but I was obviously intrigued by the synopsis. After reading it, it just wasn’t 100% my cup of tea. However, I know for a fact that I know people who would absolutely love this book. The writing was good, easy to follow and although I wasn’t really into the premise of the book - I still enjoyed it.
I have been reading a lot of light and fluffy romances lately, so this was a bit of a shock to the system.
Unique, and interesting read!
Thanks to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for this arc!
The Hunt Games are The Hunger Games meets alien porn. Instead of earning things from sponsors, you earn points for…. Well. You’ll have to read to find out.
Was it amazing? No.
Was it a fun read? Yes.
I enjoyed the storyline, and that it switched timelines multiple times in order for the reader to fully understand the backstory.
However, it felt a bit rushed at times and some of the scenes seemed a bit unnecessary, in my opinion.
I do not plan to read the other books in the series, but I did overall enjoy my time reading.
I know I said I was done after book 3, but I decided to give it one more shot.
I stand by my past statement. There's just not much more you can do with this story idea. These books all feel the same. Different characters, sure. But everything else just follows the exact same arc and development. It's a wash, rinse, repeat cycle -- and not in a way that's worth my time.
I'll be ending my VHG journey here. Best of luck to those who continue on.
What I liked about the Hunt Games even more this time around was the twist of who was the hunted and the hunters. The ten minute head start, the dangers and seemingly innocent nature of the environment and the unlikely relationships that formed all create an exciting tale of surivor.
Thanks to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review! I was surprised by how much I liked this book! I think anyone who is now into smutty reads and grew up in the golden era of dystopian/post apocalyptic novels can find enjoyment here. I read the whole book in one sitting (staying up a bit too late) and loved reading about the FMC and MMC accepting they misunderstood their past and working through their feelings together all while facing a hunger games style arena. This was my first in the series… and I now plan to go read the rest!
This Is hunger games with sex added to it and orgasms meant points.
- Contestants murder each other to eliminate competition
- each one has a "mate"
-the location has murderous animals
-they have the hover crafts that remove the body
- crude show presenters that are the exact personalities of Hunger Games hosts
- broadcasted across the world
I'm a huge Hunger Games fan so I definitely enjoyed that aspect.
The relationship is hard to follow only because they have to fuck other people up until 85%.
I wish Stetson had Groveled more. After it all of his hate. Plus Alitas switch up was abrupt.
The HEA was hard work
I would love to see more definition in what is a flashback and what is present time especially because it's written in third person it's hard to decipher.
It’s the first time I read something from Mel Teshco and reviewed an erotic romance novel and it had everything. A Hungergame like competition, virgins, orgies you name it. Due to the sci-fy factor the story had an interesting touch and if you like erotica it is an enjoyable read!
