Usually I love an ensemble romance but this one felt forced: three best friends and three brothers. Additionally, I didn’t love the dynamics, even between the “best friends” but especially amongst the group of couples, the way it all revolved around the men and the women were self proclaimed as disposable. Gave me the ick, sadly.

Heather, Daphne, and Tori are trying to figure life out. They are supportive friends through thick and thin, but also deal with a lot of drama.

If you are looking for a quick, easy read...this is it! I flew through this book in no time! It gives me all the vibes of a Hallmark movie. There are lots of POV's which were sometimes confusing, but I truly enjoyed (and needed) a good happy ending kind of book in my life.

Thank you to NetGalley and MIRA for the opportunity to read The Happiness Plan!

This is a good book. The three main characters are Heather, Daphne, and Tori. The have been friends all their lives. This story is family. The family could be one you are related to or one in which you choose. It is about the relationship these strong women have. It is about love.

Was this newest book by Susan Mallery predictable? Yes, it was. Do I care? Not at all. Reading a Susan Mallery book is comfortable and you know what you are going to get. This was a lovely read with an emphasis on the value of friendship and the relationships that we make and invest in. Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

Disappointed in this title. I felt the characters were so one dimensional and that the storyline was very predictable.

I also had a lot of trouble keeping the characters straight - took me a little while to realize that the 3 men were brothers, and Tori and Heather were so similar that I kept having to go back to make sure I had the right character.

I know that Heather had issues with her mother, and I could appreciate them, but I think she acted like a child the whole time....I don't know, didn't love that storyline.

And my god, how much more of a jerk could Brody be about his wife going to lunch with another man? We all work in the business world and have friends that are the opposite sex. I would have divorced his ass really quickly if my husband kept asking me if I was thinking about my co worker or was out on a date with my co worker anytime I was late.

Really disliked this book, which is surprising since I've read everything Susan Mallery had written and enjoyed them all.

Three friends: Heather, Daphne and Tori. Daphne has it all but then her marriage is threatened over a misunderstanding. Heather is afraid of commitment mainly because of her relationship with her mother. She finally meets and gets to know her father and his family and this changes how she interacts with people. Tori becomes impossible when Heather finds her father and his family. Tori can’t find the one and goes from one bad relationship to another. A flood at her apartment forces a change to her living arrangements which in turn makes her question a lot of her choices. Join them as they help each other, as only friends can, find their happiness.

Following the ups and downs of these three women as they navigate their personal lives took me on an adventure that I thoroughly enjoyed. This was a true page-turner. I found myself thinking about their actions and understanding why they behaved as they did and then hoping that they get the lives they deserved. I love when I can submerge myself into a book and feel like I am there with the characters. I laughed, I cried, and I couldn’t put it down. I highly recommend this book - you will not regret it.

Heather, Daphne, and Tori have been best friends forever. They are always there to support one another through whatever they are dealing with. Heather was raised by a single mother, one who has never let her forget that being a single mother ruined her life. When she finds out who her biological father is through a genetics website, she reaches out to him and his family. They welcome her with open arms, but her mother isn't happy. Daphne is married and is step-mother to two wonderful children. She is ready for a baby of her own, but her husband isn't. She is befriended by a man at work and although she doesn't have a physical affair, the relationship causes problems in her marriage. Tori is a single women with a wonderful dog. She is happy in her condo, until there is an issue with the sprinklers in the building and she needs to move out while renovations occur. She rents a house with her best friend, who is also Daphne's brother-in-law. They have always been friends, but the chemistry that has been under the surface begins to sizzle as it increases with their proximity. Will these three ladies get the new beginning they all need and want?

Susan Mallery writes amazing Women's Fiction, stories of friendship, family, self-discovery and new beginnings, and The Happiness Plan is another great example of that. This group of friends, including Brody, Campbell, and Grant, are wonderful together. They support one another and don't hesitate to step in when help is needed. They provide sounding boards and give advice only when needed. With new and old relationships changing in their lives, there was plenty of drama, heartache, healing and uplifting moments. This was a great summer read with wonderful characters, realistic storylines and a heartwarming ending.

Susan Mallery is one of my go-tos for summer reads and The Happiness Plan fit the bill perfectly. The chapters bounce between the perspective of three girlfriends, Heather, Daphne, and Tori who are all part of a large friend group that includes three brothers, Campbell, Brody, and Grant. Of course, relationships within the friend group are tangled and messy. Daphne & Brody are married but Brody accuses Daphne of having an affair with a coworker, making things tense. Heather and Campbell used to date but broke up due to Heather's inability to let someone in completely and commit. Finally, Tori & Grant are the "non-couple" friends who are arguably the closest out of everyone and have the healthiest relationship, that is until they are forced to move in together due to a disaster at their condos. Clearly, the book is drama filled but also has moments of humor and sweetness amongst the girlfriends. It also includes a lot of great side stories about each woman, including Heather who fosters kittens several times throughout the book, which I really enjoyed, as a crazy cat lady myself. Predictably, everything ties up perfectly at the end, making this a great summertime read.

Three friends run into some messy messy life situations with the three brothers that from their gang.
Heather has broken Campbell’s heart twice befitted because she’s emotionally frigid, but she realizes, too late, she really does love him.
Tori and Grant were easy to figure out.
I disagree with Daphne’s conclusion about her relationship within Miguel. It did bother me that the women seemed to apologize more than the men.
Amber should be told where to go and be done with her kvetching and moaning.
It’s a good book with a satisfactory ending.

I liked this book, but I was somewhat disappointed in how the women acted. Each had issues with family. The women supported each other, but needed the help of a therapist.
I received an ARC from net galley.
