The follow-up to Not the Witch You Wed, follows the middle Maxwell sister, Rose. Rose has no idea what she wants to do with her life, she planned to be the Prima, but since she stepped down and broke her bond agreement with the defunct European Alpha she knows she does not want to be in a relationship. She has her first and only one-night stand, and it happens to be the attractive Demon Vet former college roommate of her Elder sister’s mate. Damian owns a pet sanctuary in which Rose, and her sisters, break into to free the abused-looking horses. They get caught and Rose gets community service at Damians’ ranch. Insert chaos and crazy times.

I really appreciate the author’s witchy rom-com series for its engaging and relatable characters, witty banter, and magical twist. The sisters and their partners all have unique and likable personalities that keep the reader invested in their struggles and pursuit of happiness. The story’s blend of romance and magic makes for an immersive world that readers won’t want to leave. Additionally, the detail of the sisters’ magic matching the color of their books and their respective names is a delightful touch. If you’re a fan of rom-coms with a supernatural twist and enjoy clever dialogue, then this series is definitely worth checking out. The second book in the series is just as entertaining as the first, so don’t hesitate to dive in!

Did I read book 1 ? Yes did I listen to audio for book 2 ? Yes and it’s was well done, cute, laugh out loud funny, that I sought out the audio for book 1. Yes you can read the novels in this series without reading the others but they are delightful rom coms that I highly recommend. Book 2 has the romance set around friends with benefits.

This was a cute book about magic and romance. I normally read thriller books but I sprinkle in romance books to cleanse my pallet from time to time and this was perfect. I would absolutely recommend!

Thank you to the publisher, author, and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to review this e-audio arc.

It took me a while to get around to reviewing this book because I wanted to read the first book in the series. I do believe you can read this book as a stand-alone, but I'm glad I read this series in order. The cameos of the previous characters were much appreciated!

I howled with laughter while listening to this audiobook. The family dynamic, especially the banter, made this story super enjoyable. I love the relationships between the triplets. It really gave me warmth and fuzzies. For people like me who are returning to the series, it's so nice to see some character growth.

The romance between Damien and Rose was a bit iffy at times. I understood where Damien was coming from and saw the changes made throughout the story. Damien threw me off in the beginning, but I grew to like him eventually as the male lead towards the end of the story.

After reading "Not the Witch You Wed, " I had a certain expectation of Rose's personality. It was not what I expected when I started reading "Not Your Ex's Hexes.". In my mind, I thought Rose would be a bit more headstrong. However, it was nice to see another side of Rose from her POV.

Overall, I enjoyed this book, and I will be picking up the next book in the series. I can't wait to read about Olive's story. 3.5/5

Not Your Ex's Hexes (Supernatural Singles #2) was another great read by April Asher. Rose Maxwell trained her entire life to become the next Prima on the Supernatural Council. She's now stepped down and its time for her to focus on herself. She is trying to not think about her impulsive one-night stand with Damian Adams who is a half demon Veterinarian. Rose is sentenced to community service at his animal sanctuary and they arent able to ignore their attraction. They decide to start a friends with benefits arrangement.rose tangos with two snarly demons which led her to thinking that shes finally found her calling. It puts Damian back on the periphery of a world he thought he left behind. He doesnt want Rose to become a Hunter but he knows he cant tell her not to. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

This was a fun, light read that I enjoyed reading. Nothing too special about it that stands out but if someone needs a beach read type book with a witchy romance, I would recommend this one.

A captivating and magical adventure! This story shows that you can pursue your dreams, even if they diverge from lifelong training for something else. The dynamic between Damian and Rose is intense, drawing readers in for more of their interactions with every page.

Both characters are headstrong and determined, coming together to navigate not only tangible demons but also emotional ones. I loved the family dynamics throughout the book as well, making this a book I didn't want to end.

I loved this supernatural romcom, with a friends with benefits vibe, cannot love you due to - as the title eludes to - a hex. The learning of the body through pleasure and showing up her BOB, Rose Maxwell quickly learns that having two in the game is much more fun! This paranormal romance has all the quirks and fun while Damian, the sexy vet, pretends that he doesn't care.

This was absolutely perfect for my fall Hallowe'en reading to give me a spicy break from the horror and thrillers lately! This book, although part of a series, can be absolutely read as a standalone.

This book was the perfect witchy read. I enjoyed the first book in this series and this one was even better.
I love that we get the story for the previous prima and her perspective on what the pressure manifested as under that title. Mix her up with a grumpy half demon veterinarian and I’m sold!
The narration of this book is perfect, the narrator does a great job in inflection and tone throughout!

This one is for readers who enjoy:
Friends with benefits
Forbidden romance
Forced proximity
Witchy reads

This second book in the supernatural singles series is just as fun as the first. Rose Maxwell was supposed to be the next Prima, until her older sister’s magic started to bloom. Now she is off the hook, and her marriage to the bore is officially cancelled. Rose can be free to find and do what she wants. Including having a super sexy one-night stand with a Demon. However, after the sisters get into some trouble for trying to “free” abused animals from the location that is helping them, Rose gets sentenced to community service in Damian’s animal rescue.

Their one night was hot and heavy and sexy as hell. They both want more, but they don’t want a relationship. So, friends with benefits and no strings, or feelings is the new plan. Rose is trying to figure out what she wants to do in life. She was raised and trained to be the Prima, and now has the chance to explore her options and find a new life. And Bounty hunting just may be that new path. Afterall, she is a powerful, and connected witch.

This book, just like the first is just fun from beginning to end. It is more than steamy and definitely spicy, but low spicy. Maybe a 1 or a 1.5 out of 5 on the spice register. Pretty typical for most romance novels. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and know more are to come. There is one more sister, and if I am remembering correctly, there is also a succubus, whose story I cannot wait to read.

I didn’t realize this was book 2 in a series but seriously it didn’t make a difference. I totally loved it. I thought the spiciness was delicious. The characters were cute and strong at the same time. Because I didn’t read book one it did take me a minute with all the characters but it was manageable for sure.

Now for the narrator— wow!!! I had to keep checking to make sure it was only one person because they made all the voices unique. Impressive for the amount of characters!

I wanna start off by saying that I did not realize that this was technically the sequel in a series. Thankfully, I did not have to read the first one to understand this book.

I loved every. single. moment. of this story. I love this world, and will absolutely be going back to read book one. But I will probably be thinking about Rose and Damian to come. Every time he called her "little witch" I squealed a little inside. God, I'm a sucker for nicknames.

The pacing of this book was fun. Getting to know all of the characters was great. And their journey to each other was great. Their first kiss once they start working together? Amazing. Spectacular. Could read that scene 20 million times and never get tired.

I liked how grumpy Damian was and the banter he had Rose was charming, but I felt that the story felt disjointed. They were at the animal sanctuary and trying to earn money for the animals, and then all of a sudden they are bounty hunters which felt like it came out of nowhere. I hate when they say this is only going to be a one time thing and then they decide they are going to be f@#$ buddies but then the guy says something like "You're not going to sleep with anyone else while we're together" so you don't want to be with her but she can't be with anyone else either?? I mean you're just dating then but calling it something else right? Anyway I thought overall the story was ok, but I was hoping for a bit more magic (and not just a soulmate curse that is magically broken when it's convenient)

'Its me nott you!'

This is a classic statement but so true on this occasion!

I was so excited to read this book especially seeing all the wonderful reviews..The cover looks great the blurb looked great & obviouslythe comments and ratings are great.. HOWEVER, this is really not my thing.
Call me drab but I have tried several times now and just cannot connect.
I really don't like giving negative reviews and I do understand that others will love it.
I'm just not really into magic and demons and all that, I'm afraid. Find it all a bit silly. Weird.
What can I say, I tried!

Thanks to Netgalley, Dreamscape Pubs, and author for allowing me the opportunity to try!

I love this series. I just love these sisters also. I love the closeness of the family and friendships. Rose was a fun awesome character. Damian was a hot demon. I am a fan of enemies to lovers. Their banter is so fun. The tension is great and the spice is perfect. The story was so good. I loved the narrator. I cannot wait to read the next in this series. If you lov witchy romances I highly recommend this one. Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

When witch Rose is sentenced to community service at an animal sanctuary, she never expects the vet would be the same half-demon she’s had a one night stand with. Forced together, Damian and Rose can’t ignore their attraction. The problem, Damian’s ex hexed him - if he falls in love, he loses his heart and his humanity.

Obviously this is a romance with witches and demons, so it is a little unbelievable, but overall, I enjoyed it.

I love this series and the second one did not disappoint! This is a supernatural romance with just the right amount of spice. The audio book was great and carried you through the story like a close friend. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC

I was really excited to read this novel after enjoying the first in the series but unfortunately it fell a little flat for me.

Things I Liked:
-The magical world that Asher has built for these novels is fantastic. There are so many different magical figures and the way they are able to freely use their abilities within their town and community is really awesome. Too many fantasy novels have too little magic in them, but that is not an issue here.
-Interactions between The Maxwell triplets are always my favorite, the sisters love each other so much. It was also great seeing Violet so much in this one.
-The chemistry between the two MCs was great and Rose finally got someone who puts her needs first.
-The soul hex and the history behind it. Loved how that all played out.
-Rose working at the sanctuary

What Didn’t Work For Me:
-I just really didn’t jive with the bounty hunter career path and the journey to get there. It just didn’t seem like it made sense for Rose and seemed really forced. This was a big part of the storyline so it really impacted my enjoyment of the novel.

The audiobook narrator was great, I think that’s why I was able to finish this book instead of DNFing it once the bounty hunting piece started taking shape. I will definitely pick up the next novel in this series, because I really want to know Olive’s story and I have a feeling Bax will be a big part of that!
