Thank you to Dreamscape Media and Netgalley for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review.
Let me be honest with you, I have not read the first book in the serious as I am just getting back into romance novels but this was so much fun!
This was a cute, fun and sweet romance with some magic thrown in there for good measure. I love that in this world magic is just a thing. Not a big deal at all, some people are just magical. I also really enjoyed the background characters. Zura Johnson was a very good narrator.

This story was everything I wanted it to be. The writing was very easy to follow, the characters were very enjoyable to be around and likable enough to want to continue reading.
Now that Rose Maxwell no longer has to be Prima, she is unsure of what to do with her life. Starting her coming of age story late in life comes with its hurdles. This is how Rose finds herself sentenced to do community service at the local animal sanctuary, run by the notoriously broody half demon Damian Adams…who she may have had a very unforgettable one night stand with. LET THE SHENANIGANS COMMENCE!!
I knew right off the bat that I was going to love Rose as a character. She is as feisty as she is caring and every bit our leading lady. The obstacles she has to face in order to set her new path in life m, made her extremely relatable.
I immediately picked up the first book in the series after I finished this one and her next one is already on my instant buy when it comes out. 10/10 would recommend if your looking for a quick hate to love romance with some memorable characters.

Not Your Ex's Hexes (book #2 in the Supernatural Singles series) was just as fun and flirty as Not the Witch You Wed (book #1 in the series). Rose and Damien had a great story arc, I love that their FBA turns into true love, reminds me of Friends With Benefits starring Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake.
Zura Johnson did a great job narrating this novel and I will definitely look for books narrated by Zura in the future.

This was hilarious! I don't think I've ever laughed so much while reading a book. I haven't read the first book but it didn't bother me to understand what was going on however I really want to read book 1 to get more of the family because they're just something else and I absolutely adored them. It had some kind of plot but honestly, you shouldn't read this for the plot because it's solely to add a suspenseful element to the story. And the romance was really nice to read about. AND THE ANIMALS WERE SOOOO ADORABLE. A solid 4.5 stars!

Not Your Ex’s Hexes is the second book in April Asher’s Supernatural Singles series. While fantasy and paranormal romance is not a favorite genre of mine, I found this story to be flirty and fun. The banter between Rose and Damien was great and the Marshall sisters are delightful. I do think reading the books in this series will enhance your reading pleasure. Zura Johnson does a great job bringing these chats to life in her narration. 3.5/5 stars from me for this one.

Story was cute. Not scary, but also not boring. This isn't a combination I come across very often. I enjoyed the story and added the first book in the series to my TBR.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
This is such a fun and fantastical romance! I loved the supernatural elements in the book because it made the book so fun. This book was also pretty steamy which I did not expect, but was well done. Overall it was a fun read and I enjoyed the characters and their story.

There’s something about a powerful witch that is nervous around her one night stand that is endearing to start, but unfortunately, I had a really hard time following the complicated dynamics of this fantasy world which detracted from my ability to enjoy the story line. Because of this confusion, I wasn’t able to stick with the story and finish it.
Thank you NetGalley for access to this audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

Not Your Ex's Hexes is the second in a series of witchy romances. Cuteness abounds in this story of a curvy witch, newly displaced and floundering in her life's mission, and a grouchy veterinarian who was cursed by an ex back during his younger, and more selfish, past.
Great audio narration!

"Sometimes temporary things develop roots."
The Maxwell triplets have definitely rooted themselves in my heart. I fell in love with oldest triplet Violet in Not The Witch You Wed and now middle triplet Rose has her own sexy romantic comedy romp in Not Your Ex's Hexes by hilarious rom com author April Asher.
Rose finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time and winds up having to perform community service. Then she walks into the animal sanctuary and realizes the veterinarian is the handsome, motorcycle riding, bounty hunter, sexy half demon Damian Adams. Also, her only ever one night, actually one hour stand, from two years ago.
Damian has never forgotten the curvy beauty Rose but a hex put on him as a teenager by a bitter ex girlfriend has him avoiding falling in love in order to not lose his soul.
Neither of them can hide their attraction and decide on a friends with benefits arrangements that will stop when her community service ends. The very steamy scenes definitely explain why Damian's nickname is "Scorch"!
There are so many fun supernatural TV show references including, Jensen Ackles' Supernatural, Buffy and Angel. Narrator Zura Johnson is comedic timing perfection; especially when Rose and Damian try to fight falling in love.
There is actually a great deal of depth to Damian and Rose as their backstories are revealed and you can't help but love their emotional attachment to the animals they rescue. With a bit of magic, a lot of steamy moments, and one awesome grand gesture this witchy rom com will put a spell on your heart.

Preface
I went into this story without reading the first book in the series, Not the Witch You Wed. While I think reading that book first would have lend some context to this one - especially due to all of the characters, some back story, and the organic reveal of a big spoiler at the end of NtWYW - I thought Not Your Ex's Hexes stood alone just as well.
Summary
Not Your Ex's Hexes focuses on the second Maxwell sister, Rose Maxwell. As the former Prima-in-training, Rose is now adrift, on a search to find her "thing". But after a night to rescue two emaciated horses - from an animal sanctuary (unbeknownst to her at the time) - she had to perform community service...at the animal sanctuary with the hot half-demon vet, Damian Adams, who she may-or-may-not have had a one-night-stand with and hasn't been able to stop thinking about since. In close proximity, sparks fly, and it doesn't take the two long to come to a no-strings "arrangement".
Verdict
I read an article (https://bookriot.com/why-more-men-should-read-romance/) recently that less than 20% of men read romance - which is a shame, really. Romance is, of course, a nice fluffy genre mostly tailored to women - often with some (or a lot of) spice - but a genre where you know the story will end in happily ever after for the main characters, despite any difficulties they might face along the way. And while not everything in the real world always ends in sunshine and rainbows, romance allows for a nice escape. Beyond that, romance is a genre that allows for men to be vulnerable and tend to showcase healthy masculinity for the MCs and their group of friends (any toxic masculinity is something to be disposed of - quite literally in this book). [I mention this specifically because it definitely applies to this book.]
One thing I think this book did really well was the portrayal of the two main characters, Rose and Damian - or "Little Witch" and "Doc", as they so sarcastically (then, affectionately) call one another.
Rose is a 5'8" curvy woman who is comfortable in her own skin - her curves and figure are mentioned several times, but they're never the source of any insecurity, nor does Rose ever feel the need to change her appearance. It is a fact that she is curvy, but it is not a plot point. She is powerful in her own right: strong, independent, stubborn, opinionated, and not afraid to speak her mind. An all-around great character who I enjoyed getting to know.
Damian, on the other hand, is tall, brooding bad-boy. While there were some things that I didn't like that romance seems to often do - i.e. making the men large both in height and, er, in other things - it wasn't as overt as some others (e.g. The Hating Game). But what really sold me on Damian's character was that he was allowed to be vulnerable. Yes, he had the typical "bad-boy" exterior, complete with a leather jacket and motorcycle who was literally a half-demon, but he learned to keep his demon in check to do what he loved - rescue animals and care for his small circle of people. Sure, he wasn't perfect, but he was allowed the space to be imperfect and vulnerable, and I loved watching the transformation as we peel back the layers to the gem of his true character underneath.
I also really liked a lot of the secondary characters. Since Vi and Rose already have a story, it was interesting to see the author's slight hints to Olive's. I'm also hoping for a future story about Harper because, I mean, c'mon. She was great.
As I mentioned in the beginning, there were a few points where a little bit of context from the first book would've been nice. The first was the triplets' relationship with their mother: from the context, it seemed like she had been overbearing (and borderline abusive, depending on how much you read into it) to the girls for their whole lives, and for a while, I wasn't sure why they weren't completely NC (no contact). I was also concerned how drastic their mother's personality purportedly changed (though it was later explained). The second was Olive's seemingly drastic personality change; although it was blamed on a roommate with a potion business that saw clients out of their apartment at any time of the day or night, it felt a little strained of an explanation; maybe knowing Olive better from the first book would've lent insight, or maybe it's another set-up by the author to lead in to the third book (which I'm assuming is about Olive).
The only other quasi-qualm that I wanted to mention about this book was that, although set in NYC, it didn't really *feel* like it was set in NYC - it lacked the overall hustle and bustle and *magic* that NYC has (albeit for some passing remarks about traffic and tourists, etc.). Granted, most scenes took place in more personal spaces - animal sanctuaries, bars, bedrooms, etc. - but unless NYC was specifically mentioned, I would've never known that was where they all lived. Not necessarily a good or bad thing, just a thing.
Also, I just want to mention that it took me until almost the end of the book to realize that each triplet's magic color was related to their name - Violet's was purple, Rose's was pink, and Olive's was green. A little on-the-nose, but it's a detail I can appreciate.
Audiobook Review
I really enjoyed the narrator of the audiobook, who I think was a great fit - they were quirky and funny and banter-y and voiced both Rose and Damian well.

Not Your Ex’s Hexes is the companion novel to Not the Witch You Wed. These are both part of the Supernatural Singles Series by April Asher.
If you loved the first one, just go ahead and pick this one up. This was just as much fun of a read! In this book we pick up where the first left off.
We follow Rose Maxwell as she tries to figure out what she’s going to do with her life now that she’s not going to become the next Prima. After spending so much of her time being focused on Prima, she decided to be impulsive and have a one night stand with the half-demon Damian Adams. Neither think they will ever be anything more than just that until their lives get entwined together after a misunderstanding at an animal sanctuary.
This book is laugh out loud funny and I LOVE the Maxwell sisters! I also love the fact that we still get to see characters from the first book and they don’t just disappear.
I thoroughly enjoyed the audio of this book and highly recommend it!

This was an adorable book.
I haven't read much with supernaturals but you can't go wrong when there is a handsome veterinarian saving animals.

I loved this book I should have probably read the first one but I will be going back to that one asap. I wasn’t a huge fan of the narrators voice but that may have been just me

This was cute. It wasn’t anything special but i overall enjoyed it. I’m interested to see how the author grows in her next books!

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I was really looking forward to reading this book. I thought that the premise sounded interesting. However, I found the execution fell flat for me. Unfortunately, I had to DNF this book. I just wasn't enjoying it. I found some of the character's internal thoughts to be silly and difficult to get through. I feel bad, I normally do not DNF books but I just couldn't get through this one.

Not Your Ex's Hexes by April Asher is the 2nd in a series of books about the Maxwell triplets - New York witches who are witchy "royalty", as their grandmother is the Prima or "head witch in charge". Full disclosure - I have not yet read the first book (Not the Witch You Wed), but knew of it. Knowing that, I feel as though Not Your Ex's Hexes was fully enjoyable without that background information. I'm sure I will go back and read the first one now though, because I absolutely adored getting to know Rose, Violet, and Olive Maxwell and their band of shifters, half-demons, and guardian angels.
Not Your Ex's Hexes focuses on the 2nd Maxwell Triplet, Rose. After learning that she was no longer the Prima Apparent (which I believe must have happened in book 1 but was sufficiently explained in book 2 that I was able to keep up), she is searching for her next "thing". Due to some well-meant but slightly illegal actions involving maybe-neglected horses, she ends up in a sticky situation with the Supernatural Council and is sentenced to community service with a grumpy half-demon veterinarian, Dr. Damian Adams. Chaos ensues and sparks abound. Can she and Damian figure out how to work together, get along, and navigate their undeniable chemistry? You'll have to read and see!

4 stars for Not Your Ex’s Hexes!
This was such a delight. I adored the first book in this series and the sequel did not disappoint. Not only was the main character energetic and charismatic but the angst between her and the grumpy love interest was incredible. I love the work building in this series so much and this book expanded on that universe without bogging down the reader. This is giving me the perfect balance of paranormal/fantasy vibes with romance. This book just seamlessly works, makes sense, and immerses the reader. I can’t wait to see if this series continues and I will absolutely be checking out everything else the author has written.

3.5 ⭐
I enjoyed this story more than the first in the series. I loved the storyline with rescuing animals and that Damian, a demon, is a veterinarian. His character was my favorite since there was so much depth to him. Whereas Rose, the main female character, seemed too different from the first book for me. It was like reading about Violet again. World building was solid.
I once again listened to the audiobook and it was narrated by Zura Johnson, just as the first book was. I feel she did a much better job of narrating this book and the flow was so much better.
There was a bit too much ill timed banter, which for me, took away from the story.
Overall, it was a fun, lighthearted, paranormal rom com.
Thank you Netgalley, Dreamscape audio, and St Martin's Press for my review copy.

A delightful, sexy story with fun characters and an interesting plot. The romance is believable and I rooted for the leads all the way through. I will definitely put April Asher on my list of authors to watch for. The Power of Three is such a strong trope in the magical storytelling that I'm honestly surprised that this is the first set of triplet sisters I've seen in the genre.
I listened to the audio version of this book and it was excellent! The fact that I hadn't read the first book yet in no way took away from my enjoyment of this one. I will definitely be reading the first one and I can't wait to see the story of the third witchy triplet when it arrives.
