Let me start by saying that I really enjoyed the narration for this book. I think the narrator does a great job with all of the voices.

I really enjoyed the romance between Rose and Damian. You could definitely feel their chemistry. However, a lot of the side plots got to be tedious after awhile. I also don't find this magical world easy to keep track of with the amount of time in between reading them.

Overall this was not one of my favorite books, but it was entertaining enough to keep reading this series.

This is the second book in the Supernatural Singles series by April Asher. I went back to read the first book, ‘Not the Witch You Wed’, so that I could learn more about the Maxwell sisters. I listened to the audiobook that was narrated by Zura Johnson. I loved her narration in the first book, and she did an amazing job in this book also! Her voices and accents make it feel like the book has more than one narrator. She brings the characters to life! The story takes place in New York City, and the setting adds so much to the story.

Rose had trained her whole life to be the Prima, who would be the witch in charge. Things changed when her sister, Violet, finally came into her magic, and now, Rose is determined to find her place in the world. She gets out of her comfort zone and has a one night stand, but it turns into more when she begins to work with the man, Damian.

Damian is a half demon veterinarian who runs the animal sanctuary where Rose has to do her community service. He can’t stop thinking about their one night together, and now, he has to see her everyday!

Rose and Damian begin a friends with benefits arrangement, but things get messy when feelings start to grow. Damian can’t fall in love because of a hex that his ex put on him years ago.

Rose and Damian have so much chemistry and so much steaminess between them. I loved their story and I can’t wait to read more in the next book in the series.

Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an ALC of this amazing book!

This is not for me. The writing style feels corny, the fact the narrator sexy-whispers every line, and the idea that Long Island is in any way rural made me quit before the first chapter was over.

Not Your Ex’s Hexes is the second paranormal romance in the Supernatural Singles series. This series follows triplet witches as they stumble through their lives and find their mates. In this romance, Rose Maxwell, who has trained her whole life to be the next Prima but has recently stepped down, finds herself at a loss for what comes next. In come bad boy and half-demon veterinarian, Damian. When the two are forced to work together, sparks fly.

Let me start by saying this was a well written book and a good paranormal romance. The author did a great job of creating this world and keeping it interesting, but I did myself no favors by not realizing this was the second book in a series. I felt like I spent the first half of the book playing catch up as I tried to learn this world. The other things that I had going against me was that I just couldn’t connect with these characters. I’ve been having that problem in a lot of books lately, so it’s probably me, but it did take away from my enjoyment of this book. Overall, looking passed my mistake in not know this was the second in a series, this was a good, well written paranormal romance. If this sounds interesting to you, I would say to give it a chance, just make sure you know it’s part of a series and you’ll probably be better off starting from the beginning; learn from my mistakes!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an audiobook version of this book!

Though I received a copy of this audiobook in exchange for a review, all opinions remain my own.
This is the second book in the "supernatural singles" series, but you wouldn't know it by starting out with this one. I wasn't lost at all just jumping in with book number two. I loved how Damian and Rose keep getting shoved together by circumstances seemingly beyond their control. Throw in the supernatural aspect and all the magic along with a vet who runs an animal rescue, this book was right up my alley. If the other books all follow the other Maxwell sisters, I will totally be picking those up. This family seems like a great one to follow!

Her entire life, Rose Maxwell trained to become the next Prima in the supernatural council. Now that she has stepped down, it's time for her to focus on herself and not think about the impulsive one night stand with Damian Adams, who is a half-demon veterinarian who she just can't get out of her head, and neither of them are looking for a relationship.
However, when Rose is sentenced to community service at Damian’s animal sanctuary, it becomes impossible for them to ignore the attraction. A friend with benefits, no feelings, no strings arrangement works perfectly for them. After dead-end jobs, it isn't until Rose tangos with two demons that she thinks she's finally found her path. However, this puts Damian back on the periphery of a world he thought he had left behind and nor does he approve Rose becoming a hunter, but if there is one thing he has learnt about the witch, it's that telling her not to do something is a sure-fire way to make sure she does. Them working and sleeping together awakens feelings for Damian he never knew he had, and shouldn’t have, because thanks to his ex’s hex, if he ever does fall in love, he’ll not only lose his heart but his humanity too.

This is the second book in the series, and I haven't actually read the first book because when requesting I didn't realise this was the second book but I still enjoyed this one and I think you can read it as a stand alone(?) (I’m not too sure) but I will be reading the first one. I think it makes a cute little fall read or even during halloween.
The Narration was good and enjoyable, and I really liked the characters, and the whole concept of Damian being a half demon veterinarian, very interesting!!

Thank you to netgalley for this arc:)

I really enjoyed this book, even more than I did the first in the series. I love a grumpy hero and he loves animals, say less. Great book and I look forward to the next one!

Little witch 😍🥵🥰 Gosh, everything about this story was great. There aren't very many series that the second book is even better than the first but I would have to say this one was! I adored the first book and laughed all the way through but this one hit different. It was funny, spicy, and relatable! Rose may not know what she wants to do with her life but she knows she loves being a witch, she loves her sisters/family, and she has a huge heart! One night stand turns into enemies to lovers, friends with benefits, work place spice. I mean, it's all here! And it's done perfectly! I didn't love the audio to start but the narrator grew on me quickly!

This is a delightfully witchy book! I enjoyed the banter between the Maxwell sisters & even Grandma Edie! The relationship between Rose & Damian was all the heart eyes!

Rose Maxwell is trying to find her new normal now and it’s one hell of a journey.

When she gets into a bit a trouble and the supernatural council steps in will she get what she needs or will she lose her mind?

This was fun, but there were a few times that Rose drove me crazy & I kind of wanted to smack her. But the banter and tension and heat in this story was great!

Wow! This book is so good! A witch, a half demon, animal rescue all mixed with an enemies to lovers trope romance. What more could you ask for? The narrator of the audiobook did an excellent job. I really enjoyed the voices and was able to follow along well. I will be going back and reading the first book in the series and am hoping there is a 3rd book (as there are 3 sisters!). The book had great character development and had a great plot. Most of all I love how strong and independent the women are in this book. This is a great romantasy and I will be highly recommending to others!

Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for a copy of the ARC audiobook for my honest opinion.

When her older sister comes into her powers and takes her spot as the next Prima Apparent, Rose is left wondering what she is going to do with her life. Since she has spent so much time training, she is left what her next steps should be. Always looking out for animals, she sees some horses that she thinks are being abused and attempts a “rescue” only to find out that the animals are on a sanctuary. For punishment, she is sentenced to community service at said sanctuary, who just happens to be owned by Damien, a sexy half-demon that was a one-night stand.
Neither one is looking for a relationship. Each has their own reasons, but their attraction and chemistry make it hard to resist one another. Working together as well as Rose figuring out what she wants to do with her life, makes for a highly entertaining read. I loved this couple so much and watching them come together is exactly why I love this series so much.
This book is for fans of grumpy - sunshine, forced proximity, and friends with benefits. It can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading book one first. A lot happens in that first book and there are references that are easier understood with prior familiarity to the characters. I can't wait for Olive's story!

Zura Johnson did such an amazing job with the narration. I loved it so much!

I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook! The narrators were awesome! A demon vet and an ex witch apparent was an interesting dynamic. Would recommend!

Not Your Ex's Hexes by April Asher

This is book 2 in the Supernatural Singles series. Rose decides to have a one night stand from the bar she is at and Damien is more than willing to be that guy. Rose and her sister decided to free some animals that she thought where being mistreated that actually belong to the sanctuary that Damien is the Veterinary at. For her punishment for doing this crime she is told to work 30 days at the sanctuary.

Damien is a demon and good looking Veterinary at the Sanctuary for animals. The chemistry between Rose and Damien is definitely their they decide to make a friends with benefits type of agreement. This is where the story gets really good.

Rose was suppose to be the Prima but her sister got it instead so now she needs to find a job for herself. She tries bartender, ride sharing, and hunter. The is humor in the interactions between characters and that makes the book more engaging.

You will laugh you will enjoy the sexual tension between the MC's this makes for a quick fun read.
Oh I forgot to mention Rose is a which with some very powerful spells.

Narrated by Zura Johnson who does a great job bringing life to the main characters. I really enjoyed listening to this one. This can be read as a standalone and that is what I did but I plan on going back and reading book 1. I recommend this if you like supernatural romances this one has some steam and you can feel the chemistry between Rose and Damien.

💭Thoughts:
This is the second book in the Supernatural Singles series! I loved the first book in the series, so I was excited to read the second book. I was not disappointed. This was a fun, steamy, banter filled romance between a witch and a half blood demon. It can be read as a stand-alone, but it was to find out how Lincoln and Violet were doing from the first book.

I enjoyed the fact that half- demon Damian was a veterinarian. I loved all the references to the different animals at the animal sanctuary he ran. It really added a sweet aspect to grumpy Damian’s personality.

I loved the chemistry between Damian and Rose! Their nicknames for each other- Dr. McGrumpypants and Little Witch put a smile on my face. I found myself really endeared to these two!

I definitely recommend this book and series to anyone who loves fun, sweet witchy reads!

Oh my goddess! This book was made for me - witches, demons, angels, shifters, animal rescue, and a grumpy/sunshine romance! Note, this is a book 2 and there's spoilers for book 1, so I don't recommend reading them out of order. In this one, Rose is trying to figure what to do with her life now that she is not the prima apparent. And she ends up stuck volunteering at an animal sanctuary after attempting to liberate some horses which had already been rescued by the sanctuary.

The narration was very well done. I listened to this at 1x speed, and it was enjoyable. A few times, during quick dialogue, where the male voices started to sound a bit like each other. But it was very minor and I could still tell who was talking easily.

My one and only complaint is that he calls her 'little witch'. I was not a fan of that. But I loved everything else, so no big deal.

Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the advanced copy of the audiobook in exchange for my honest review!

Not Your Exes Hexes by April Asher

I have read this through audiobook. Thanks to Dreamscape for this ARC the narrotor does a fantastic job of convey the book and getting across points.

Rose and Damon had a one night stand a demon and a witch. Now after a Free Willy Stand Rose is now doing community service for a vetranity service whom Damon is the owner the tension between them is undeniable.
Damon demon has been cursed in the past
Through this book Damon grew on me especially with how much he's loved animals.

The narrotor does a fantastic job of portraying each character and making then unquie to themselves.

Super cute follow up to Not The Witch You Wed! I was especially enamored by the special connection with the horses. 💜 There was enough drama to keep it interesting and not overly dramatic. Rose and Damian are wonderful together and I can’t wait for Olivia’s story!

I’m this is the second book on the Supernatural Singles series and it did not disappoint.

Rose was suppose to be the next Prima, but now that title is going to her sister. Which leaves Rose floundering to figure out her next steps. After being sentenced to community service at an animal sanctuary, due to trying to “rescue” a horse from said sanctuary, her and a previous one night stand/Dr. Grump find a way to break down each other emotional walls.

I adored how the narrators brought Rose and Damian to life! Listening to their story made it even better to me.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for a copy of this audiobook. This is my honest voluntary review.

This was very cute and delightful read. I liked the characters, it was quirky but not twee as a lot of other latest books in this genre. Despite the premise, there was a grounded-ness to the romance and characters which I liked.
I liked the family dynamics and the side characters. The plot was a bit convoluted especially Rose's arc felt a bit much. But the romance was cute.
It is a bit too long and some of the plot could be edited out. Narrator was excellent and loved all the voices she did especially the male voices.
