This is a story that melds a few genres together (in my opinion). What starts off as almost a lark, slowly drips into a story of magical realism which leads slowly and carefully into horror. Margaret and Hal bought an enormous Victorian home and found very quickly that the cheap price was due to the inhabitants of the house that were no longer alive. While Margaret becomes quite adept at living with the everyday horrors, Hal does not. When their daughter calls insistently to speak to her father, Margaret is forced to reveal that he is missing.
Where did Hal; go? Who is haunting this house? And can Margaret convince her daughter that all is well? #CarissaOrlando #Berkley #TheSeptemberHouse

I requested a digital copy in order to sample the prose on my phone (since I don't have a eReader) before requesting a physical copy for review. My review will be based on the physical ARC I read (if I qualify)

Heart pounding thriller that left me on the edge of my seat. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one. Definitely one of the best books this year.
