I absolutely loved this series! The Matthew boys are where it's at. This was probably my favorite of the three. The building of the relationship between. Ryker and Bryce kept me interested and I loved watching the bond with the girls. PTSD is such a deep issue and watching him grow and branch out was great. This has all of the emotions. I laughed so much and I had sad moments too. Bryce is a total badass and everything I strive to be. I don't want this series to end!!!! I need more!!

This was such a sweet and heartwarming small town romance. Bryce's world gets turned upside when her brother and sister in law die in a tragic accident. She must leave her career as an up and coming chef to move back to her hometown to care for her three nieces. As Bryce is struggling to care for her nieces as they each deal with grief in their own way she meets Ryder. Ryder, a former marine, dealing with PTSD keeps to himself. Ryder and Bryce form an instant connection and help each other heal from their pasts. I loved Ryder and Bryce's connection. The author did a great job dealing with heavier topics like PTSD. I didn't know this was part of a series but had no problem reading it as a stand alone.

Loved the meet cute that started this one off! I know the pain of taking kids to the store but being the aunt turned guardian it's a whole other difficulty level.
Ryker may be my favorite of the brothers in this series. He is so complex and a cuddly bear but also is trying not to be a burden. He lost part of his leg in combat and has a prosthetic and PTSD. He's just the sweetest but gruffest.
This was such a cute romance and the battle for guardianship with the in-laws/grandparents was a constant battle but had such a sweet resolution.

This is a cute friends to lovers read that does also deal with some heavier topics like death in families and PTSD. The kiddos is this story are absolutely adorable and funny and there are several lovely side characters.

This reminded me a little of that movie, Life as We Know It. Obviously, it isn’t the same plot, but it gave me a little niggling of it. Is a found family a trope? If it isn’t it should be because it shows so much more than just the romance.

Ryker and Bryce have such chemistry. I was rooting for them from the first moment in the grocery store. What a meet cute they have. And I love the term Mom like creature. I am not a fan of lack of communication, but I guess that is always at least a small part of a romance since they don’t admit they like each other from the start.

I loved how heartwarming this one is. Bryce trying her hardest to step in and be what her nieces need without any type of experience and Ryker coming out of his shell and helping her out at every turn while struggling with his PTSD. I loved both Bryce and Ryker’s relationship with the girls and how each of them needed something different in this new stage of their lives.

I read this in a day! I have enjoyed Dylan Newton's book and this one was another delight. It centers on Bryce, who's brother and sister in law died in a car accident so she was taken over as the guardian of her three nieces. She has a meet cute at the grocery store with veteran Ryker when her niece gets stuck in the shelves. Ryker saves the day but then has a PTSD moment and ends up leaving the store fast.

This is the third book in the series but would be fine as a standalone. The author does recap/review who the characters were from the first two books since they make an appearance as Ryker's family. I thought this was a really sweet book as the romance develops and the two main characters deal with their own issues and navigate the relationship.

Thank you to Forever Pub and Netgalley for an advanced copy. Opinions are my own.

Sweet rom-com with some heavy topics as well. Big Raising Helen vibes! Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

A new author for me and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I found myself laughing out loud at the antics and crying along with this blended family through the rough patches. Grief can be overwhelming for all ages but this misfit band of characters finds a way to grow and adapt to the changes in their lives while strengthening the family.

Although I received a free ARC ebook, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Dylan Newton did it again! Change of Plans was an absolute masterpiece of a book and I adored reading about the last Matthews brother.

Bryce and Ryker were legit a match made in the romance book heaven. The only complaint I have is that there wasn’t more to this wonderful story. I could have read a hundred more chapters on these two and the absolutely wonderful life that I’m sure that they had beyond the epilogue.

Not going to lie, this is the first time I wanted to murder a pre-teen for how mean one of Bryce’s nieces was to her but with the shenanigans of the other two little girls and Ryker being a man and not communicating well enough.. well, I was going crazy right along with Bryce.

While this book isn't listed as a series on Goodreads, I consider it to be the third book in a series about the Matthews brothers. It can certainly be read as a standalone, but I've so enjoyed reuniting with characters from the first two books.

Life has thrown a lot at Bryce and Ryker and thru sweet moments, funny moments, and hard & frustrating moments we'll see if theirs is a romance that can endure it all.

3.5 stars

Bryce has been thrust into parenthood when her brother dies in an accident, and suddenly being the gaurdian of three girls is not something she signed up for. Ryker is an amputee suffering from PTSD, who has the craziest of meet cutes with Bryce and the girls in a grocery store and can't stop thinking about her.

Bryce and Ryker are so beautifully imperfect, and both struggling with their own curveballs that life has thrown them. When the two of them come together, the pieces fall into place and they compliment each other in the best of ways.

Bryce's struggles with being a new single parent, and the pain and loss that all of them are experiencing was funny and raw and everything that anyone who has ever been a caretaker will understand. Ryker's attempts to always be the hero and to never ask for help for himself were so poignant and heartwrenching. Watching the two characters complimenting each other, and helping each other through thier trials was everything!

The mental health representation, the gritty look at single parenting were so well done and had me loving these characters and cheering them on desperate for their happy ever after. I loved everything about this book!

Thank you to Forever Publishing for providing me with an ARC of this book.

Enjoyed!

I hadn't read the prior books in this series, but I really didn't feel confused or unfamiliar with the characters, the author did a great job getting the backstories in without being overbearing about it. I loved Bryce and Ryker's story!

Both Bryce and Ryker are dealing with...a lot. Bryce became an instant Mom to her 3 nieces after her brother and his wife suddenly passed away. Ryker is dealing with PTSD from his Marine service. With a lot of help from his family and their friends, will these two be able to get through all this and come out the other side better?

This book was just sweet enough, just s*xy enough and a lot of laughs. Enjoy!

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book, but my opinions are my own.

Thank you to @ReadForeverPub and @NetGalley for this ARC!

This story definitely gives me a little bit of the vibes of the film No Reservations. This book includes both the found family trope and the miscommunication trope, which the plot relied heavily on.
What I like most about this book was how, despite a lot of emotional baggage, Bryce and Ryker meet each other head on, and don’t shy away from each other‘s insecurities. Because of this, their relationship felt really well fleshed out and I really enjoyed getting to see them grow as a couple.
Overall, this book is super charming. While there are some heavier moments ie Ryker dealing with PTSD and Bryce handling the death of her brother, there’s enough humor and heart sprinkled in to make this a really warm and fuzzy rom-com.

I loved this book from start to finish!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️

After an unfortunate accident, Bryce becomes guardian for her three nieces. She moves to care for them, and is trying to figure out her new life as a “mom.”

A super sweet meet-cute in the grocery store brings her together with Ryker, a Marine vet. He’s also adjusting to his new life, post-war and with a leg amputation.

This is a story of finding your way when life changes your plan, and finding a person who supports that. While their lifestyles and situations are completely different, they both had a drastic and unexpected alteration to their life course.

Another thing I loved in this book was the normalization of mental health and therapy.

While this is the 3rd book in a series about the Matthews brothers, it can definitely be read as a standalone (I haven’t read the first two and didn’t feel like anything was missing).

What you’ll find in Change of Plans:
⭐️ Single “mom” (guardian)
⭐️ Chef & mechanic
⭐️ Former military hero
⭐️ Disability rep
⭐️ Mental health rep (Grief & PTSD)
⭐️ 3 hilarious kiddos
⭐️ Found family
⭐️ Dual POV/3rd person

*tws: death of parents/sibling (off-page), PTSD, war, loss of limb

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

I adore this book! I think Ryker might be my favorite Matthews brother. And Bryce? She is such a strong female character with a dirty sense of humor that caught me off guard in the best way. These two don’t really need another thing added to their already overflowing plates, but they can’t ignore their connection. And the girls? June, Cecily, and Addison were amazing! The kids were such a huge part of this book and I’m glad they were such fleshed out characters with their own personalities.

I loved the amputee representation and how respectful & well done it was. Dylan clearly did her research with custody laws, veterans organizations, PTSD, and in the medical/prosthetics area. I could keep going on, but I’ll just say I recommend this book!

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever the advanced copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Thank you so much to Forever and Netgalley for providing an advanced copy of this! All thoughts and opinions are still my own.

I have really enjoyed the Matthews brothers books from Dylan Newton, however this one just wasn't for me. I think that there were some really important themes in here - particularly loss of a loved one, PTSD, disability, grief, and trauma. But in general, military romances are hard for me to connect and get on board with.

The heroine, Bryce, unexpected inherits custody of her 3 young nieces after the sudden loss of her brother. At the start of the book, she is struggling to hold everything together. The hero is trying to open up and step out of his shell while dealing with PTSD and the loss of his leg.

When the 2 meet at the grocery store, they're immediately drawn to each other. But the heroine thinks they're bonding over being single guardians. When in reality Ryker is only babysitting.

First of all. I'm going to leave this link to Jesse's video on Police and Military stories. They are so much more equipped and eloquent in their discussion over why romanticizing these groups is inherently problematic.

I really struggle to read romances featuring military MCs and it definitely held me back from getting on board with this romance.

But beyond that, I didn't find myself caring about either main character. This opening felt very info dumpy in my opinion. It was clear that the author did a TON of research for this book. Because there were so many inorganic discussions about mental and physical health. And it made me feel very aware of the fact that I was reading a story instead of part of one.

Lastly, it was clear that the main conflict of the book hinged on the miscommunication that Ryker was a guardian instead of an uncle. And I had no interest in reading 300 pages of misunderstanding that could have been fixed in 3 words...

Communication is sexy guys.

Overall, this one just wasn't for me. I think if you're a big contemporary fiction fan, this will 100% work for you. It has some great discussions and themes and it's definitely going to be a more hard hitting story.

While this one was a dnf, I am very curious to see where Dylan Newton goes next!

I am so sad to see this series end, but glad to say it went out on top 👏🏻🫶🏻

Absolutely loved getting to know Bryce & Ryker 🥰 and the great way the author was able to navigate tough topics 💗 I cannot imagine being thrown into the position Bryce was, but the emotions & chaos portrayed felt authentic. Ryker’s journey was another complex one that I felt was handled well. His challenges are real & watching him begin to work through them was great!

The representation throughout this book was awesome! Family dynamics, caregiver responsibilities, limb amputation, & PTSD 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 very well done!

The children also had my heart! Especially Addie 💗 she was in her own world a lot of the time, & I loved being a part of it! Both Bryce & Ryker were great with the kids & some of their scenes were downright hilarious 😂

What to expect:
✨small town
✨meet disaster 🙈
✨dual POV
✨amazing kids!
✨PTSD & limb amputation rep
✨interconnected series
✨”mom-like-creature”

Thank you so much @readforeverpub & @netgalley for the early copy 💖💖💖

Change Of Plans is OUTNOW!!!

Change of Plans by Dylan Newton
3rd in series although not named as such online. Contemporary romance / romantic comedy. Can be read as a stand-alone. Heroine = New guardian parent. Hero = Veteran with PTSD.
Bryce Weatherford has recently become the guardian of her three nieces. As a new and single parent, she is juggling their care while still working. She meets Ryker one night at the local grocery store where sparks fly. While dating is difficult for a single parent, as a group they manage both family entertainment together and a bit of alone time. Can they make a relationship work between his PTSD and her parenting needs and in-laws that are fighting for custody?

While I loved all the 3 books, this is my favorite. Happy stuff, making family work, a hero that needs a hug, a heroine that loves a baudy joke, children that have individual personalities, and a dog that can handle the lease. Touching and emotional, I cried in several parts over the last 15% of this adorably sweet and heartwarming romance.

Series, 3 brothers in a small town, each with their own story.
Book 1, How Sweet it is.
Book 2, All Fired Up.
Book 3, Change of Plans.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley. I will purchase this series in full to share. Opinions are my own.

I'm not usually a fan of kids in romance, but the poor girls that Bryce Weatherford inherits after her brother and his wife tragically passed away in an accident won me over from the very first chaotic introduction. Bryce is having a very difficult time dealing with a drastic change in her life when she goes from a successful chef and free single woman to a single mother of three kids under 13 who has no time to even consider herself. When Ryker comes in to save the day and wows all four Weatherford women, it's the sweetest meet cute. That Ryker Matthews has his own very dark battles he's fighting is an extra layer of emotional investment that just makes all the moments of light and fun they have together even better.
It amazes me how Newton wrote a story that is genuinely joyful when the motivating factors behind the characters being where they are death and PTSD. I loved how emphatically everything is touched upon and how well she handled the difficult topics and the many ways in which grief and its aftermath can present.
It's the third book in the series but I think it's perfectly alright to pick up this wonderfully romantic and healing book on its own to enjoy. Although the other books are also great and I totally recommend picking them up too if you haven't read them.

Very happy thanks to NetGalley and Forever for the wonderfully romantic read!
