Epic. I loved this continuation of friends/family and this story. I’ve been desperately waiting for this MC’s storyline and get to know him better. Was eveything I wanted and such a great read. I’m so glad to end my summer vacation with this one.

Bryce Weatherford has taken guardianship of her three nieces and her life has been turned upside down. Addison who is five won't take off her fairy wings, Cecily who is eight doesn't seem to know what a bath is and June who is a tween is nothing but attitude and mouth. She is struggling to make a good home for the girls, make her new job work, and keep the girls grandparents from stealing them away.
Ryker Matthews lost his leg below the knee while fighting over seas. Now that he has returned to normal life he is doing his best to make his business his main focus. He's alive and knows just how lucky he is but he is also lonely.
When Bryce and Ryker meet in a grocery isle there is an instant attraction. Bryce is worried that her new life has no time in it for romance. Ryker worries about the nightmares he has and now they might effect a relationship. Follow along as these two dance around each other. Will they come together and let love take hold or will they let love pass them by.

What an amazing surprise Change Of Plans by Dylan Newton was. I have read a couple of her stories, so I grab anything of hers I see. I love this fun cover and the romance inside. There are some fun moments and lots of romance. The characters are addictive.

Imagine, if you will, the ringing of the phone. You answer and you are told your brother and his wife died and named you guardian of their three young children. Of course, the wicked grandparents think you are incapable of raising them and sue you for custody. As I read along, I thought, why didn’t she take a vacation and have the children stay with them. I think they may change their mind.

The children: five year old Addison, who refuses to take off her fairy wings. I can picture her, spinning around the room with a smile of innocence on her face. Then we have eight year old Cecily who won’t bathe. Once we found the reason why, it all made sense. Tween, June hates everything about life and is constantly in trouble, lippy and standoffish.

Bryce, their guardian, struggles to cope. I feel for her. Not only is she doing her best to take care of the children and find work in a new place, she is grieving for the loss of her brother. She has no family left. No support system. Her breathing exercises to calm herself in high stress are familiar to me. The garbage plate in Rochester, New York, been there done that. I love a book that has a taste of reality for me.

Ryker left the Marine corp because of the loss of his leg. He has PTSD and nightmares haunt him as her relives the worst day of his life. He avoids everyone, tinkering in his garage, where he restores vehicles. He rarely ventures out, but a visit to the grocery store changes his life forever.

Cecily had dropped her lucky rock under a grocery shelf and gets stuck.

“Let go of the change and the rock so I can pull you out, and I’ll give you a dollar.

“Two dollars,” bargained her niece, “and I get to pick out the cookies this week.

I was laughing out loud. I think I picked the perfect time for me to read Change Of Plans by Dylan Newton. I laughed and laughed. I cried and cried. I shared in Bryce’s lack of confidence in her new role, her grief. The writing is heavy and light at the same time and flows so smoothly, I reached the end before I was ready.

“I’ve been waiting to see him in his fairy wings. Only Aunt Beamer says the fairies don’t leave heaven ’cause the gates are locked. Have you ever seen a fairy, Mr Ryker:”

When Ryker found them in the grocery store, saved Cecily and played pirate with Addison, I found myself grinning like a fool, then her heartbreaking cuteness was like a punch in the gut. The tears flowed, so I will warn you to have a box of tissues handy.

The moment they met it changed both their lives. They slowly began to open up and think they could have the happiness everyone desires. Of course, we have a communication problem. Doesn’t that always happen in a romance story or real life? I thought she was too quick to do what she did, but I can understand her hurt. Other than that, I couldn’t find a single thing wrong with the book.

No matter what genre is your favorite, I can’t recommend a better book than Change Of Plans by Dylan Newton. to give you your emotional requirement of ups and downs, highs and low, bliss and despair, and…and…and…and…

Change of Plans Dylan Newton

Change of Plans centers around Bryce who has just gained custody of her nieces after a horrible accident. An odd meet cute occurs at the grocery store with Ryker Matthews who is a disabled veteran dealing with PTSD. Ryker is not a people person but he feels sparks with Bryce and her nieces. As they spend more time together, they grow closer and help each other discover how strong they really are.

I was eager to read Change of Plans which is the 3rd in the Matthews brothers series by Dylan Newton. I really enjoyed the other two. Change of Plans was wonderful and such a sweet story. Bryce and Ryker were a great team together. Bryce's nieces were an adorable addition. They all have their own part that they had to the story. Having just dealt with a big loss in their lives, it was nice to see Bryce and the girls deal with the pain that loss has brought. I do not have dealt with PTSD but I feel like it was handled very well in the book. Ryker was probably my favorite of the Matthews brothers.

Change of Plans was a great end to the series of books. You do not need to read all of them to follow along. This book is a great stand alone as are the other books.

Thank you to NetGalley, Forever Publishing, and Dylan Newton for the e-ARC of this book. This review is my own opinion.

✨ PRINCEMAN ARC REVIEW ✨

📝 Bryce Weatherford was climbing the ladder as a talented chef until her brother and sister-in-law died in a car accident. In an instant, she not only lost her brother but she also became the guardian to her three nieces. Raising these three girls is absolute chaos, but what doesn't help is the girl's grandparents fighting for custody. Enter Ryker. A former marine who had his leg amputated after his deployment in Afghanistan. He's suffering from PTSD, but for some reason, these Weatherford girls seem to bring him out of his shell. Maybe each other is exactly what they need in order to heal.

What I 🤍:
👧👧👧 Adorable Nieces
💪 Strong, Resilient FMC
🌀 PTSD/Anxiety Rep
💕 Found Family
🏔️ Character Driven Story

What I appreciated most about this book is how it's so much more than a romance. It's a character driven plot about the journey of Bryce and Ryker as individuals. Bryce on her journey of becoming a parent, while also maintaining her love for cooking, and Ryker on his journey of recovery. Together, they help one another heal, and deal with their new normal. To me, this felt very realistic. I can also tell Newton did a lot of research when writing this book.

Prince's Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Read 📅: Easter Time, Spring

A few things didn't work for me. First, this book is marketed as a comedy. While the girls provided some comedic relief, the tone overall was heavy. To me, it was more of an emotional romance. I had ALL THE TEARS towards the end of the book, and I would describe this as an emotional read. Please consider the content warnings before reading this book. Additionally, while I understand Ryker was in the military, using military jargon during romantic moments gave me the ick.

Change of Plans is the third installment in the How Sweet it Is series. I would recommend reading this series in order because all the characters from previous books are in this one. You'll also get a glimpse into Ryker. If you're looking for an emotional read, this is for you!

Thank you to Forever Publishing, Dylan Newton and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

Bryce and Ryker both have a lot going on in their lives. Bryce has recently been awarded custody of her 3 nieces after the death of her brother and his wife and Ryker is a soldier back from serving and learning to deal with a prosthetic leg and PTSD. Bryce had been working in New York as a chef until she moved to the little town where the girls live to care for them, which happens to be where Ryker lives. When their paths cross, sparks fly, but there’s always something keeping them apart, and it’s usually miscommunication, which is generally a trope that I don’t like! But in this case it kinda worked because it helped both of them have to work on their own feelings and themselves. When they finally do start dating, he ,eaves town without telling anyone! What?! Who does that? He ends up having a good reason and of course she forgives him instantly, but that drive me crazy. That’s my one big complaint with the story. Other than that, I enjoyed it. And I adored Ryker!!
Thanks to Forever Books and NetGalley for this eArc in exchange for my review.

I really wanted to love this book, but it felt very rushed for me. I enjoyed the banter between the main character's nieces and the mmc, but outside of that I wasn't really buying it. Overall, I thought this could have been less messy, but I was glad it had a happy ending.

If you like stories about strong men being wrapped around his girls (girlfriend/wife and daughters) then I think you'll like this one!

Change of Plans by comes out tomorrow - August 1st and it is such a wonderful book!
This is book three of the Matthews Brothers trilogy and this whole series is just wonderful. If you haven't read them yet, add them to the top of your TBR!
Bryce has moved to upstate NY to be the guardian of her three nieces after their parents died and it's not as smooth as she wishes. Ryker is working through PTSD from his time in the military and his prosthetic leg. Of course, the last thing either of them wants is a relationship but sparks fly between these two.

This book was sweet and I love seeing them both work through their issues and find each other for support. I love Dylan Newton's characters and this wonderful town!

So check out Change of Plans tomorrow!

Change of Plans was such a fantastic read. I would give it 6 stars if I could!

Dylan Newton was already one of my favorite authors after her first two books, but Ryker, Bryce, and Bryce's nieces were such wonderful characters to read about. Even though I am not in the same situation as Bryce - becoming guardian of her three nieces - I related so much to her experience and feelings as a parent of three girls of my own. She was truly just doing her best to care for and love them through it all, and it was difficult and hard but also beautiful and amazing. Her struggles and worries were realistic and emotional and beautifully written.

I loved Ryker, too, and he is definitely my favorite amongst the brothers. After reading about him in the two previous books I couldn't wait for his story. He had been through so much and was still struggling more than he let on. He had such a big heart and was so kind and loving with Bryce and her nieces. I loved seeing him connect with the girls as much as he did her. Also, his PTSD was handled with so much care and his journey was emotional.

This book was charming and funny, but also emotional and heart wrenching at times. The writing and storytelling are perfection, and I was hooked from the very first chapter. It is my favorite book I've read this year, and I can't recommend it enough!

This was a very cute read!

I liked the characters in this novel and found their struggles to be well-fleshed out. While the novel was about the main characters finding love, it was also about their own journeys.

Any series with siblings always has the "anticipated one", and for me it has been Ryker since the beginning. I have always loved a tortured hero and his reclusive and mysterious nature combined with his time in the service has always had me wondering what Dylan Newton would cook up for him in the romance department! Well, she did not disappoint! After, quite possibly, one of the most hilarious meet-cutes I have ever read, she gave him Bryce and her three nieces!. They are just the right combination of chaos to bring out the softy and fun in this tortured hero!

After a horrific accident leaves aspiring chef, Bryce, as the sole guardian of her three nieces, she must blindly traverse the world as a single parent. Struggling with even the basic tasks of shopping, Bryce finds herself in quite the pickle in the middle of the grocery store. However, she needn't worry because the town's resident hero has all the right training to help her out. Immediately smitten, these two can't help but be drawn together and while neither had plans for each other, plans change.

There was so much to like about this book! Beyond the adorable story line with just the right amount of heat, so many real aspects of life are dealt with in the perfect way. Ryker is a young veteran who was honorably discharged after being hit with an IED and his PTSD is documented in an authentic way. Whether it was the shame of the struggle, his amputation and prosthetic leg, or the mention of counseling or additional therapy services this subject was respectfully addressed and made Ryker so endearing. Bryce has to move from "fun aunt" to the mother figure of a grieving tween and her younger sisters, a difficult topic that was handled with both humor and realism. However, all of this only enhances the way Ryker and Bryce care for and love each other, building the sweetest relationship amidst big life's changes. This was the perfect end to this sweet and spicy series!

4.5/5 Stars

So happy to get Ryker’s story and finally get a glimpse behind the scenes of this reclusive man. Loved that he came out of his shell to make such a significant impact on Bryce and the girls so quickly.

Bryce is a chef whose career has suddenly taken a backseat to unexpected guardianship of her three nieces with the death of her brother and his wife. And do these three make it easy on her, you bet they don’t, and neither do their grandparents who are contesting the will.

Ryker is suffering from serious PTSD and doesn’t want to burden anyone with this problems, hence the reclusively. And I think that’s why he can see how badly Bryce needs help. He is so there for her and the girls in any way… period product runs, cardboard pirate ships, and hug emergencies. I loved it.

This book will have you all up in your feels. Despite the somber tone that it seems to be setting, I laughed out loud at this book. If ever a book showed you that parenting doesn’t have to be perfect to impactful, it is this book. No matter how hard they push, those girls know they are loved.

Am still not a fan of the lack of communication breakup, but these two were under a lot of stress, so I forgive them. Loved this family!

I adored Dylan Newton’s All Fired Up last year because of her unique heartwarming story and whole hearted characters that really stole my heart. And this one really scratched that same itch!

In her new book, she tackles guardianship and found family in the absolute best way and had me just melting. Add in a chaotic meet cute and a cinnamon roll MMC and I was hooked.

Although technically the third in the series, all can be read as standalone!

I read the first book in this series and wasn't a huge fan. This book wasn't one of my recent favorites, but I thought it was better than the first one. It was a fun read and I can see it being a popular book in my library.

🥰Ryker Matthews🥰

I loved Plans Change, which I knew I would because I loved the first two books featuring Ryker’s brothers, Drake and Zander.

Once again Dylan Newton wrote a perfect romcom featuring a swoony male lead mixing funny and sweet. I laughed out loud and cried a few times too. The meet disaster that brings Ryker and Bryce and her three nieces together has secured a spot in my all time top fave meet disasters. Dylan is definitely an auto read author for sure now.

BOOK REVIEW- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My Thoughts: HAPPY PUB DAY TO CHANGE OF PLANS!! A huge thank you to @authordylannewton for including me in her traveling ARC group!! I’d also like to thank NetGalley & Forever Publishing for an advance eARC as well!! This is the 3rd installment in The Matthews Brothers series and it may be my favorite! It was so fun to get to really meet Ryker in this novel and revisit with so many other memorable characters from previous books. Bryce was perfect for Ryker and I loved seeing her navigate the journey of becoming a guardian and falling in love. If you’re a fan of romantic comedies like Raising Helen- you need to pick up this book!

I’ve loved all three of these books (and brothers) but…somehow I knew all through these stories that Ryker was going to be my favorite. I wasn’t wrong!⁣ 😍

Ryker and Bryce had a seriously sweet pirate/superhero meet cute in the grocery store! As a mom of three, I totally could have seen something like this happening with one of my kids (ironically, also my middle child.)⁣

Bryce has a lot of grit, even though she wasn’t confident in what she was doing as a “mom-like creature.” Building up to three kids gradually was hard, so I can’t imagine being thrust into that role all at once! I teared up for her so many times when she was frustrated with herself and had no idea what she was doing. Those feelings were SO accurate!⁣

Ryker works through some serious issues, including PTSD, and all were given the care they deserved. Watching him open himself up to Bryce and grow as a person was everything I wanted for him! 🥹⁣

The hug emergencies were my favorite and though I don’t call them that, I do the same thing with my husband! 🥰⁣

The three Weatherford girls were the best! I love real kids with real issues and quirks as characters! ⁣

Other highlights:⁣
✨ Small town⁣
✨ Found family⁣
✨ A pirate ship that will make you 🥹⁣
✨ A little steam⁣
✨ A few Change of Plans moments 😉⁣

Thank you to Forever Publishing and the author for an eARC on NetGalley. All opinions are honest and my own.

Ooh I LOVE and emotional romance, and this book CERTAINLY fits the bill! It’s been a while since I read the previous book in the series, and I don’t fully remember everything that happened, but that didn’t prevent me from fully enjoying this book!

The representation in this story isn’t something you see all the time, which made it all the more amazing! Thrust into the role of caregiver, Bryce experiences SO MANY thing that I go through as a mom of three on the regular. There were so many instances in this book where I felt like the author GOT IT, and felt truly seen in my struggles in raising three small children.

I also felt like the PTSD/ex-Marine/amputee representation was really smart and well researched and just extremely respectfully done. Characters like Ryker aren’t typically explored in romance because of how sensitive a subject military life is, but once again this was really well done.

Before reading this book I was in a bit of slump, and struggling to read ANYTHING, but I devoured this book in less than 24, it was sweet, and easy to read, and emotional in all the right places!

I was given an ARC by NetGalley and Forever. All opinions are my own.

This is, without a doubt, one of my favorite books that I have read this summer!

This is the third installment in the Matthews Brothers trilogy and it focuses on Ryker the middle brother and Marine veteran. I lost a lot of sleep reading this book because I could not put it down. It is told with a dual point of view between Ryker and a newcomer to town, Bryce.

Bryce has come to town to care for her 3 nieces after tragedy strikes their family. I love her character, you can feel how much she loves her nieces even if they create the most stress her life has ever had to endure.

Ryker may have a rough outer shell but he is actually a teddy bear. He has endured so much in his life and is still reliving his trauma through PTSD. He is a character that you cannot help but root for to finally find his happy ending.

This is a book that is full of emotion. Throughout the book it had me feeling sad, angry, anticipation and happy. There were many times I felt like I was having a hug emergency of my own! 🥰

I cannot recommend this book enough. Even if you haven't read the previous books of the series you will enjoy this one. But I definitely recommend the first two books because they are wonderful, too!

I am extremely grateful to Forever Publishing and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this heartwarming book in exchange for an honest review.

I 100% picked up this book based solely on the cover and let me tell you, it was a great decision. I have a special place in my heart go Volkswagen busses because I grew up with one!

This book moved my soul. It was so good and I definitely teared up at parts. I can’t imagine having to completely uproot my life to care for 3 nieces like Bryce did. And she did a great job! I instantly felt connected to her and her determination to just keep her nieces healthy and happy. Ryker was a RBF doll. I loved him. He was so strong dealing with his struggles with PTSD and his leg amputation. I loved that these two were able to find each other in such a hilarious way and support each other. There were a few moments of miscommunication that made me want to pull my hair out but I think it made the story more realistic.

I read this as a stand-alone without realizing there were other books (about Ryker’s siblings) that can be read first. It definitely works as a standalone but I’ll be going back and reading the first two of the series because I need more of this family!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
