This is the third book in the Matthews brothers series. I really enjoyed this book. Bryce taking in her nieces really tugged on my heart strings. Her and Ryker’s relationship sucked me in right away. They had great chemistry and support for one another.

Thank you netgalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review l.

I loved the first two books in this series, so I'm not sure why I dragged my feet for so long in this one. I'm glad I finally came back to this and gave it a fair shot. I was not disappointed! Bryce and Ryker are the definition of flawed heroes. Rkyer's story of losing his leg and the recovery was so touching, and Bryce's heart to take care of her nieces is SO big. Their chemistry sizzled, and I just love these "make your own family" kind of stories. This one was a win!

Thanks to Forever and Net Galley for this advanced review.

Dylan Newton is a favorite of mine!! Her romance novels are just the best! Change of Plans had me laughing, swooning and rooting for the main characters as they danced around themselves trying to not admit their feelings. Don't wait to read this!

The virtue signaling and word policing in the first two pages was just not it. And neither was the rest of this book.

In this fun and easy read a chef is left with her three nieces. Everyone in the town falls in love with the chef and her children but one special bond is formed with a man. This fun read will bring a smile to your face and make you feel good. A definite must read for summer.

Disaster strikes for chef Bryce Weatherford when she is unexpectedly given guardianship of her 3 nieces. All 3 of the young girls are giving Bryce a run for her money and acting out. Bryce finds herself yearning for a life outside of her new
"mom life" and managing her new job.
Ryker Matthew's had his leg amputated years ago after an accident during his time in the Marines, but he is still struggling with the aftermath of his career. He numbs the pain with his vehicle restoration business, but struggles to fill the void in his lonely heart.

Ryker soon sweeps Bryce off of her feet in the middle of an aisle in the grocery store. Sparks fly, but neither of them are ready for what that entails... or is exactly the change of plans they need??

This is a beautiful, funny, heart warming story about two people struggling to fill a void and finding themselves together in the midst of a tragedy. I laughed, cried, and related to the story in so many ways. I loved this book and thought the story was so sweet and unique. Dylan has a way of taking what would otherwise be a very heavy story and making it light hearted and funny. She is forever the queen of rom coms!!
Thank you to Dylan Newton for allowing me to be on a Traveling ARC team for this book!!

Dylan Newton is a new to me author and I was wowed by Change of Plans, so much so after realizing there were two more books prior to this one I went and bought them immediately. This is not your typical single mom story, not in the least. Following the death of her beloved brother and sister in law, Bryce Weatherford finds herself appointed the guardian of her three nieces age 12, 8, and 5 and in a custody battle with her late sister in law’s parents. She is barely hanging on by a thread as all three girls present a different set of challenges when she meets Ryker Matthews in a grocery store while trying to free one of her nieces from under a shelf. Ryker is a Marine turned mechanic suffering from PTSD and an amputee as well. From the minute they meet there is a connection neither one thinks they want, but also one that is impossible to deny. This book takes readers on a journey as we watch both Bryce and Ryker face challenges in their everyday lives and deal with them with humility, humor, and sometimes tears. Together the forge a bond that turns into friendship and more all while falling in love even though they don’t want to admit it. There were so many sweet, wonderful, thought provoking, and tender moments in this book as they navigated life as best they could and learned to accept the cards the universe dealt them. I want to say more, but I don’t want to ruin this story for anyone. I highly recommend this book; it is absolutely one of my favorites of 2023 and one I know I will read again.

I wanted to love this one so badly because I ADORE the unintentional guardian trope, but this one just did not click for me :/

A great end to a great series. Overall, I do think the first one is still my favourite of all the brother's stories but the series intertwined well without feeling like you needed to read them all or in any particular order.

Thank you to Forever for this ARC of Change of Plans!

Firstly, I just want to say that this is my fault that I did not enjoy the book, before I got approved I didn't look into the history of this book and it turns out this is book #3 in a series, so with that being said - I DNF'd this book.

Hear me out, I didn't DNF it because it's book #3, I DNF'd because I tried for months to keep picking up this book, chapter by chapter and I didn't find the storyline or characters interesting.

I DNF'd about 50% of the way through because I felt no connection to any of the characters and I truly dislike the miscommunication trope which Bryce and Ryker definitely had!

I wanted to love this book based on the synopsis but it just wasn't for me unfortunately.

This is a great recommendation for fans of Next of Kin. I just finished that one and wanted something that gave the same vibes/story line and this was a great time!

"Change of Plans" delivers a heartwarming and emotionally charged love story that captivates from start to finish. Ryker and Bryce are endearing protagonists whose journey you can't help but invest in from the very beginning. Their unwavering support for each other amidst life's challenges is both touching and inspiring. As a fan of the Matthew Brothers series, I found great joy in revisiting past characters, although bidding farewell to this delightful romance series leaves me with a twinge of sadness. Nevertheless, I eagerly anticipate Dylan Newton's future endeavors. In essence, "Change of Plans" is a charming blend of humor, heartfelt moments, and irresistible characters—a must-read for fans of the genre.

Bryce Weatherford's entire life was upended by the death of her brother and sister-in-law. She's now a "mom-like creature" to her three nieces living in upstate New York instead of a saucier at a fine-dining restaurant in Florida. Grieving her family, learning to parent, and fighting with her brother's in-laws doesn't leave much time in her schedule for romance. But when Ryker Matthews, a mechanic and veteran, saves the day in the local grocery store, she might just find the time. Ryker's dealing with his own issues including PTSD and complications with an amputation, and the last thing he wants is to be a burden to someone else. Can these two learn to rely on each other?

A heartwarming small-town romantic comedy that still packs an emotional punch.

Superstar chef Bryce Weatherford unexpectedly comes into guardianship of her 3 nieces after her brother and sister in law are in a fatal accident. Addison, Cecily, and June turn Bryce’s world upside down as she struggles to find her footing in her new role as “mom-like creature”. In the midst of tackling a new job and fighting the maternal grandparents for permanent guardianship, she runs into Ryker, a guarded veteran working his way through his own trauma from his time in the service. The timing is less than ideal, but their chemistry can’t be denied.

I absolutely adored this story and am mad that I did not read it sooner. All of the characters were so ridiculously charming and real. All of the girls had their own personalities, and their chaotic antics were so endearing. The author did a great job of layering in the grieving process for each character and dealing with that while simultaneously having to move forward with life. I also loved Ryker’s backstory and seeing him process his trauma and pursue different therapeutic avenues. This one sucked me in start to finish, and I went and got the first two books in this series before I was even done reading this one.

Thank you to Dylan Newton, Forever (Grand Central Publishing), and NetGalley for the advanced digital copy in exchange for my honest review. Go read this heartwarming story!

Although there are moments when the writing is a little clunky, this book was a joy to read. I ended up staying up late to finish! Both a romance and a call for personal growth, I liked both of our protagonists and their journey throughout the story. Six, at the end, made me smile! The children were charming and the Easter scene was hilarious!

This is such a sweet book, I really enjoyed the found family storyline. Bryce, a chef, suddenly finds herself with the guardianship of her three young nieces. Bryce is grieving and so are the girls when they meet Ryker in the grocery store. He’s got a prosthesis and the girls are fascinated. When Bryce and Ryker get together, their found family is a little dented but able to move forward because they love each other. 4.5 stars.

Thanks to Forever and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed as in this review are completely my own.

I really enjoyed both previous books in this series and I’m glad to say that this one lived up to my expectations! The relationship between Ryker and Bryce was so sweet and the found family that was created in this story was so heartwarming!

Although this is technically the third book in the series it can be read alone but if you enjoy this one I would definitely recommend reading Newton’s other books.

Thank you to Forever & Netgalley for the e-ARC of this book.

This was such a cute & easy read. I really connected with the MC & saw myself in her struggle. Dylan really brought these characters to life—especially the girls—and that is one of my favorite parts of reading a book; I love getting immersed in the characters & seeing their growth. This was such a feel-good book with some real life feels & I enjoyed it so much!
