I enjoyed most of this book, however I found the last 25% of the story felt very rushed and didn’t seem to make much sense. But it was a quick and fun read overall .
This is a daydream in Japan, and Tokyo is magical. An absolute love song to the city.
Cam and Remy's story just transported me to Japan, right down to the train lines. I need a TV show J-Drama adaption like yesterday.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC. This is my honest opinion on the title.
Remy and Cam have saved up and planned so much for their end of the year trip to Japan. It’ll be a final trip for the two best friends before they have to part and attend college in two different countries. However, after some tea leaf fortune telling and love potion drinking, Cam ends up losing all his memories of Remy. With the clock counting down to New Year’s and Remy’s slow loss of her memories, will the pair be able to fall in love again despite fate pushing back on them?
I have to confess, I think I’m in love with Our Cursed Love. It’s a beautiful friends to lovers story filled with magic, sweets, and beloved characters from The Charmed List! I’m not the hugest fan of friends to lovers but this book did it really well! There’s something about memory loss and soulmate speak that just hooks my whole mind into the words. I especially love how we can see Cam’s recovery of his memories so that it gives us a glimpse of the past and the key moments that they’ve had with each other. And like any great romance book, they were so so cute together! I can’t wait to read more of Julie Abe’s books, this book is truly a magical gem and I don’t need rose-tinted spectacles to see it!
