My only complaint would be unnecessary dialogue. I really enjoyed this romance novel and the build up in the characters chemistry.

"Bachelor and the Geek: Bachelors Abroad" by Sofia Aves is a sweet and fun romantic adventure that'll warm your heart and make you root for the quirky characters.

unfortunately this was a DNF for me, usually I will power on through and try and finish my books however I just could not stand the writing style of this. It was so stilted and incredibly hard to engage with. The way the book started was very confusing and there was too many descriptions of mundane things rather than any real fleshing out of the main characters.

A good binge worthy book.. A meet cute kind of book... Opposites attract kind of book... I really enjoyed reading this book...

Sofia Aves writes a sweet romance that will have readers falling in love with the male and female leads. The story fits into the world of Reality TV.
The characters work well together as they develop what feels like a natural romance. The romance once it hit is a lot of steamy pagers just warning you. The female lead finds her voice and her inner strength that readers will fall in love with.
Perfect HEA beach read that will leave you still believing in HEA.

I really loved this read! It was perfectly funny and cute, and I couldn't put it down. I love the grumpy/sunshine trope and this perfectly fit that bill. Overall a cute read for a new to me author! Will definitely read more of her work!

This was an entertaining book. It was fun, clever and kept me reading, though a lot of it was description of each main character's thoughts and there was a dual point of view, making it rather confusing. I would have preferred more character interaction versus describing about their thoughts. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.

Unfortunately, this was a DNF for me. I did not feel there was enough of a set up at the beginning to know what was going on. I figured out that Sirius (love the name) was on a reality show. Other than being in the military in the past and working security now, there just wasn't a lot of details at the start. As more characters were introduced, I didn't feel like the plot was set up well and I lost interest.

Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I tried, I really tried, but I just couldn’t get that interested in the story or characters. Sirius’s character held the story together, for me, for a while, but I didn’t care for Annie. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

ARC from Netgalley! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Now I'm not going to lie to you all. I have some mixed feelings about this book. I gave it a 3 star rating because of these mixed reviews. I love the idea of a book based loosely on lithe bachelor or the bachelorette. With that being said I think that there could have been a lot of ways to make this book better. There were moments where things moved way to quickly, like when they are doing the challenges, I would have liked to see more from those moments. Then there were also moments that I feel like could have been sped up some. There were a lot of conversations that took place within the novel that I think could have been done really a lot faster than they were. having these conversations move faster would have sped up the novel as a whole and it wouldn't have felt so slow at times. With all of that being said I still really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to someone that is looking for a nice easy read.

Fall hard, Fall fast. That happend to Sirius when look at Annie. They meet in bachelor matchmaking reality show, one look and Sirius declare Annie was his, 'Mine' he said. Sirius gut feeling never fail, when he get to know deeper about Annie, he got smitten. Sirius had many things to worry about, like the first reason join this reality show, his brothers, his career, all of that doesnt stop him wanting, craving and protective to Annie.

Thank you to NetGalley for provide this book, it is pleasure to review this book.

A grumpy and Sunshine romance, set on a reality TV show, but with interfering families will they stay together? Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Bachelor and the Geek follows the story of Sirius and Annie, a classic case of grumpy man meets sunshine woman and his entire life changes. Sirius, having been conned into coming onto a reality dating show by his brothers is just trying to make it to the end of the show as a finalist, so that he can network at the event. Annie, on the other hand has been coerced into coming onto the show by a multitude of pushy people in her life and is really just there for the experience. As with most stories, boy meets girl and boy falls madly in love. Overall, the story played out exactly as I would have guessed it but there were a few laugh worthy moments in between. While reading, it is impossible not to fall in love with Annie right alongside Sirius - as she comes off as caring and kind even through the book. While I was personally hoping that the book would be more dramatic, it was ultimately a satisfying read. This book would be perfect for someone looking for a cute afternoon read, or something that they can finish in one sitting.

Sirius is on this reality TV show for one reason only; to make it to the finale event and present his security firm to the Secretary of Defense for a new tender. If that means spending a few weeks as a 'beauty' whilst paired with a female 'geek' then he would survive. He has been through far worse in the name of his career.

Annie, brilliant scientist and estranged daughter of a pompous Senator, just wants to be left to work in peace. So when her Boss says she has to participate in the show to raise the profile of the company, she acquiesces. She simply doesn't know how to say no.

From the moment they're paired together, sparks fly, and both struggle to push their feelings to the side. Can two incredibly private people keep it together in the bright lights of the cameras? Or will the puppet master behind their participation in the show be revealed and ruin everything?

I really enjoyed the story and have watched many of the reality TV shows that are similar to the one described. I appreciated the MCs personalities but did wish that some of the other characters had a chance for a bit more depth.

For me, the book would have received more stars if the pace of the story had been different. I felt that certain parts went quite slowly whereas others (particularly the end) were wrapped so quickly that it just didn't seem realistic. I enjoy a HEA but wish this could have been explained over a few more pages.

This was a cute romance based on the concept of two contestants who meet and fall in love on a reality show that plays up stereotypes of Beauties and Geeks. The hero Sirius (that name was a bit much tbh) is the older, silver fox beauty who falls for pretty geek Annie. I thought they had cute banter, and I liked how supportive he was of her with her insecurities, family, and crappy boss. However, their romance came off as a bit instalovey, and I didn’t feel like I really got to the depth of their characters enough to heavily invest in their relationship. If their getting together had been drawn out a bit more, maybe a bit of a slow burn element that let us get to know them better as individuals first, then I might have been more invested in their relationship. Overall though, I thought the concept was cute and the book was fleshed out with enjoyable side characters (Leon I especially enjoyed), making for a quick, pleasant read.

It was a fun fast read.

I am not a reality tv show fan at all, so I don't know if I would have enjoyed the book more. I really liked Sirius and Annie as characters though I wish there was more character building and more time before they ended up together. I loved the dual POV, it's always a favorite. I also loved how Sirius would always build
Annie up, and not let her self doubt and past hold her back. How he dealt with her boss and family was outstanding and might have been the highlight of the book for me.

Just finished, this was a quick read with an interesting take on a Bachelor type tv show. I liked the Beauty and the Geek take on this.

I didn’t take to Sirius immediately but as the book progressed he warmed to me. His treatment of Annie truly redeemed him. The way he handled her family and her boss drew those qualities you to him.

Annie is super relatable and her personality really shines as her relationship progresses with Sirius. She is really the underdog that comes to shine throughout this book.

Overall I feel like the plot works well and it is an enjoyable read.
