A fun, engaging read. Though the lack of clarification in any summary that some of the main characters are from other books by the author made a lot of it confusing. Only other reviews informed me that several characters were from other books. Not knowing that made it seem like there were loose ends (Emma's attack is covered in a different book that's part of a series of standalones). But I still liked it and I don't blame the author herself for my confusion. I will be reading the book about Emma.

I enjoy a good Nancy Bush book, but couldn’t get into this one and kept finding myself putting it down. It was a bit predictable, but had an interesting story and characters that I believe needed to be fleshed out a bit more. Even though I didn’t enjoy this read, I will continue to support this author as she a great writing style and I have enjoy other books by her.

I tried to read this but could not get into it. I usually enjoy Nancy Bush as an author but this was just not up to par.

Unfortunately, this book was a DNF, that I didn't mesh with from the start. The writing of the story felt like a first draft, the character interactions were awkward, and there were too many unnecessary POVs and too many random plot lines.

The Camp was a good book, but did have some predictable elements. I did enjoy the writing and most of the characters. I would read another book by this author.

Unfortunately this book fell a bit flat for me. It sounded so intriguing but I just couldn't get into the storyline and there were to many characters to keep track of. Just wasn't right for me.

The premise of this book sounded extremely interesting. I love books set in camps, the atmosphere, the first taste of independence. Unfortunately, this was not very interesting to me. The plot was interesting but the story tended to drag and I had some trouble keeping all of the characters straight. Overall this one was a disappointment.

This one just wasn't for me. Once again, I was sucked in by the premise, but there were too many characters to keep track of, nothing about any of them really stood out, and the plot meandered all over the place.

Seems like almost every novel I've read recently has been a way twisted psychological thriller, and THE CAMP is high in that category. It was also my first time to read author Nancy Bush. THE CAMP is extremely convoluted and twisty, both in the early on experience, and even more so two decades later, when the children of former campers and counselors become counselors and counselors-in-training, and the owner holds a Fourth of July extended weekend event hosting both parents and alumni.

Camp Fog Lake (in vernacular, Camp Love Shack in a play on the former owners' hyphenated names), is only a short distance from a commune of long duration, a religious venue with some odd principles.

A finely detailed view of human frailties, foibles, and the masks we wear, balances against an extremely unbalanced and dangerous villain concealed in the shadows.

I have been a huge fan of this author for a long time so I was very excited when I got the chance to read another of her books. I don't even need to read a blurb to know I'm going to like it.

The Camp was even better than I had anticipated! It was a little hard for me to follow at first but then I started understanding how things worked.

I never knew from one page to the next what to expect so I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish.

And the ending was nothing at all how I thought it was going to happen.

I did not finish this one, it was not for me, I couldn't relate to the characters, and just did not care for the story.

I am a fan of Nancy Bush's The Babysitter and was excited to see some characters from that novel emerge in The Camp-the updates on the fallout of what happened to Emma and Jamie added a nice layer. The premise-a modern twist on Friday the 13th meets Yellowjackets was very intriguing but unfortunately it fell a little flat as there are so many characters (from camp 20 years ago, the commune 20 years ago to present day campers (kids of the campers 20 years ago, the commune, spouses, law enforcement) that it was a little harder to follow as many reviewers mention. The editing is hopefully improved in the published version to make things a little tighter. There are some twists and I did want to find out what happened but by the end I was just reading to get through it. 2.5 stars.

I was so excited for this one and the description had me immediately jumping to request, but unfortunately I had to DNF this one at 18%…. There are so many characters! From the past camp, from the present time, story from the commune, a weird side surrogacy plot, and a whole lot of things not tying well together. The story is too slow for me, I even tried taking a break and coming back to it, but just have zero interest in finishing this one.

This took me a while to read, simply because there were so many characters and things happening: a cast from the older generation of campers, a cast from the newer generation of campers, a cast from the commune next to the camp, in addition to several more sprinkled in from the surrounding towns. I love a good summer camp with slasher vibes, but I just got overwhelmed honestly. The second half of the book was a bit smoother sailing, and had nonstop action. There were a couple of twists that I didn’t see coming, which is always a plus.

Harley want to be a counselor at Camp Fog Lake this summer, but her Aunt was there before it closed the first time around and is trying to warn her to not go there. The camp was shut down after a string of deaths and it recently just opened. What happened back then won’t affect how this summer goes.

Overall, "The Camp" was an enjoyable read, and I particularly loved the appearances of Emma, Jamie, Harley, September who were featured in earlier books. Although the story kept my interest, I felt that certain parts could have been condensed to allow for more exploration of other subplots.

It's not my favourite book by Nancy Bush but it's still a good read. I recommend adding it to your summer reading list and I look forward to her next book.

While the start of the story was good and held my attention, by the time chapter 2 came I had trouble understanding the story, and keeping up with the characters- there were a lot of them mentioned in a short time frame.

It was too much of a drag so I didn’t finish.

I loved the idea of the setting at a summer camp. Gave me real Jason Vorhees vibes!!

The camp was a 3.5 read for me, people at camp foglake are dying. During a reunion weekend old secrets begin to unravel and tie into the current. The alumni’s children are in danger! But why, and from who? Fun and creepy read. I love books that are told from different perspectives that all tie together. However, there were a bit too many characters and the story became a little convoluted in the middle. But I enjoyed the read and the ending.
