Ah yes nothing says Merry Christmas quite like re-living the day you bombed a job interview and your beloved fiance got hit by a truck because you shook a magic snow globe and made a Christmas wish. Who wouldn't want to see how many different ways that delivery truck can hunt down Linus (aforementioned fiance) to run him down and put him in a Christmas coma?? After failing the same horrible job interview for a promotion at work?? Not me, that's for sure.

I had fun reading this book because after the first groundhog day loop Diana went through I wanted to see just how much more horrible it could get. And boy did it. Linus ended up in a coma after being hit by the delivery truck while riding his bike, as a passenger in a car, while walking, and while standing outside all at different times and situations. That truck had it out for his ass.

The rules of the snowglobe groundhog day loop also made ZERO sense because Diana, Linus (while comatose), and a little boy they end up fostering (???) are all in the same loop. And how did the loop break? Was it by Diana oversharing with her patients and nailing the job interview and defeating the evil delivery truck trying to kill Linus? Of course not, it was by shaking the snow globe upside down this time! What a wonderful resolution! Diana learns nothing, fosters some kid, quits her physical therapy job, and runs Linus's toy store while he's indisposed all in a matter of two weeks. At Christmas. When stuff is definitely open and it's easy to fast track things like becoming a foster parent.

And of course Linus wakes up from the coma and is super ok with the surprise Christmas baby of an 8 year old boy they are now fostering. Because of course.

Merry Christmas! Hope you don't get run over again!

Through the Snow Globe is a change from Ms. Rains’ usual genre. This is her first women’s fiction book and she knocked it out of the park!

Diana is a physical therapist who believes in being professional at all times. She is very good at her job, but she comes off as being aloof and detached in her patients’ opinion. She does her job with very little conversation. Her patients, especially sixteen-year-old Addy, don’t find her very friendly. The one patient who filled out a review card, aka Glow Card, said that she was “abrupt”. Perhaps that is a result of being abandoned by her mother and raised by a very stern grandmother. She just doesn’t know how to share her feelings.

Diana seems to be in a time loop, repeating the worst day of her life over and over. Her neighbor, Maria, advises her that maybe it is because she needs to change something.

I enjoyed following the lives of Diana and her fiancé, Linus, as Diana tries to change what she thinks might be the problem and failing over and over again. I look forward to seeing what Ms. Raines writes next.

I absolutely loved this book. Incredibly written, I felt all of my feels, and sometimes all at the same time. The Groundhog Day trope was done so well, and I could feel and relate to the feeling of giving up hope after trying so hard. Diana is such a great character, I love all of her flaws and seeing her grow and rediscover herself was fantastic. Can’t recommend this enough!!

This story truly is Groundhogs Day meets It's a Wonderful Life. A lovely story about finding yourself and what's important in life. Diana, relives the same 24 hours in different variations of what could've happened that day. Each time she relives the day she learns something new about herself and her friends. This was such a sweet Christmas story.

This new Christmas book for 2023 is basically groundhog day set at Christmas time! After Diana’s fiance has a car accident he’s in a coma. That same day, she lost out on a job opportunity she wanted.

Now, she’s gifted a magical snow globe that will allow her to repeat that fateful day over again. And she does, over and over and over. Can she figure out how to save the man she loves and get her life back on track?

This was such a sweet Christmas book for 2023. It’s a great one for those who love It’s a Wonderful Life! #gifted

I have read a few book by Annie Rains and she hasn't disappointed me yet. This book has got a lot of time loops and it was definitely interesting to read. This novel is going to make you both laugh and cry. The setting of the snow Haven has been described beautifully and I could literally visualize myself in that cozy festive environment.
I would definitely recommend this book if your looking for a good holiday read!

Annie Rains does it again with another feel good holiday story featuring Iris who has ow self esteem and feels unworthy of her fiancé's love. Iris goes through life robotically, unloved and unwanted by her patents and left to be raised by a resentful grandmother, she distances herself for everyone as she tries to protect herself. Iris does not see that caring about people is an asset but rather maintains a professional and curt manner with others. Even her fiancé becomes frustrated with her hesitancy to commit to setting a date and embracing his loving and welcoming family. Until there is an accident that puts her fiancé in a coma and Iris must confront all that she can lose. She discovers a snow globe that her fiancé had bought for her for Christmas, which enchanted by her neighbor, allows her a wish to have a redo of one day with someone she has loved and lost. So Iris wishes to return to the day of accent to see if she can change the outcome but doesn't realize that you don't always get what you wish for. It's supposed to be Christmas Eve, but Iris enters into a "Groundhog's Day" time loop as she repeats the day over and over, with each time Iris coming to discover more about herself and how she needs to change herself. Can Iris ever get it right and help bring her fiancé out of his coma? This is a story of second chances, discovering yourself, and finding happiness. It's a lovely holiday story and I'll let you discover whether there is a happily ever after. You can't but help root for Iris to figure it all out. This book is an interesting trope on Christmas hope where Diana has the chance to repeat the day when her fiancé met with an accident over and over again hoping to change the outcome.  In the process, Diana gets an opportunity to discover herself and grow as a human being.
Diane is a pretty cold person, relationship averse and focused on her career, afraid to commit to a wedding date with her fiancé.  Then the unthinkable happens and Linus is involved in an accident biking home from the toy shop that he owns and runs and ends up in a coma.  Distraught Diana finds a snow globe that allows her a do over to the worst day of her life.  Every day she wakes up and goes through her day trying to change herself and the events of the day trying to prevent the accident from happening.
No one but her and a little boy she meets at the toy shop seem to be aware that the day is being repeated and yet the outcome remains the same. Linus still meets with the accident and ends up in a coma.  In the process though Diana finds herself changing. Where before she did not involve herself in her patients and their lives, she uses each day to help change outcomes in the lives of the people she meets with without being able to do the same for herself.
I found it an interesting trope and definitely appreciated Diana's character growth but overall, this was not a story I enjoyed.

I just adored this book. I will be recommending this book for years to come to anyone that will listen! I’m usually not a Groundhog Day timeline fan but this book may have changed that for me.

I have a special place in my heart for Christmas romances. This story was really sweet and I loved feeling the Christmas spirit.

One of my favorite tropes is a time loop. I loved watching Diana’s growth each time she had to relive December 4th. I could really feel the emotion and even cried a few times while reading. There is a lot of sadness in this book, but it makes you realize that rainbows can come after a storm. I loved the nostalgia of the toy store. There is something special about toy stores at Christmas. It was fun to see Diana discover her true calling at the end of the book!

I definitely recommend this book for anyone looking for an emotional, heartwarming Christmas read.

Diana Merriman isn't looking forward to Christmas this year, her fiance Linus was in an accident and the only present she would like is for him to open his eyes. When she finds a present, a snow globe, from Linus in the closet things change in an unbelievable way. When she wakes up after shaking the.globe it is no longer Christmas Eve but December fourth. Hoping to save Linus from the accident Diana finds herself in some kind of weird loop where she keeps repeating that fateful day over and.over again. Diana soon begins to see what this weird journey is all about but how will things end is the question. Will Linus wake up and Diana end up with her happily ever after or will she forever remain in a loop of her worst day?

This story follows a woman as she tries to change the past and save her fiancé from his tragic fate. Along the way she finds herself forming relationships and healing her childhood traumas as she prepares for a final goodbye all during the Christmas season.

This book was powerful. I thought it would be a cute Christmas romance but instead it was a heart felt and emotional read with a groundhogs day/ Christmas carol twist. The novel explores different types of relationships both professional as well as friendship and familial in a way that had me sympathizing with each character with tears in my eyes.

Who wouldn’t say they wish they could have one last day with someone they’ve lost? But is the pain and heartbreak worth it? Or perhaps the journey to rediscover oneself and heal is worth that last goodbye?
