This book was, unfortunately, a major disappointment. It was super hard for me to get into the storyline, and I honestly wasn't impressed with the FMC or the MMC.

It really isn't a stretch to say that the first 75% or more of the book felt like the author wanted us to detest Brynn. She was super rude, whiny, kind of bratty and just all around self-centered. To be clear, Sebastian wasn't great. He was a vast improvement over Brynn, to be sure, but I still thought he was kind of insufferable. Having PTSD is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of, and I'm not sure why he was hiding the fact that he had a service dog. Additionally, I DEFINITELY don't believe that he decided to open up about his PTSD to Brynn, of all people. You literally can't convince me of that.

Along the lines of things I don't believe: the last 25% of the book was all of a sudden about the romance that we were expected to believe spontaneously (and I do mean spontaneously as there was no lead up to it) happened between Brynn and Sebastian. I have zero idea where the romance came from, and I definitely didn't buy into it. They were suddenly all about each other, and the whole ending felt super rushed.

I always make it a point to read other reviews both before and after I read a book. It was very discouraging to see that the literal author for this book stated in a review that she didn't fully love the book until she listened to the audiobook...what? How am I supposed to love this book when you yourself didn't you listened to it?

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and Bethany Turner for giving me the chance to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own (and I wish they were more favorable).

DNF- I couldn't stand that it switched back and forth from first to third so I just could not read any more

This book is a charming tale of unexpected love. The setting is vibrant and enchanting, making it easy to get lost in the story. The protagonists start off as unlikely pairings, but their journey together is filled with sweet moments and growth. It’s a lovely reminder that love can blossom in the most surprising situations!

This was a fun book! I always love the trope of when two characters are forced together and initially do not get along and through some machinations end up falling in love in the process! I know that many reviewers were not big fans of Brynn in the beginning but I liked her quirky character and liked the complexity of Sebastian's character. It is definitely a book I would recommend to friends!

Thanks to NetGalley for a review copy!

Unfortunately this book just wasn’t for me. I’ve tried a few times to read it but I think I have to finally say it’s going to be a DNF.

Normally I love a grumpy/sunshine small town romance but I hated Brynn so I just couldn’t get in to the story at all.

I won’t be reviewing elsewhere as I didn’t finish the book.

Thanks to Netgalley and Thomas Nelson for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I will admit I had trouble getting into this book at first.

I think the character descriptions in the blurb got switched, somehow. Brynn, who is supposed to be a ray of sunshine on network tv is actually, grumpy, and judgmental. Sebastian who is supposed to be grumpy, is actually pretty funny and down to earth. I get being assertive, but Brynn comes off more as shrill. She’s not remorseful at all at the beginning for insulting her hometown on a network morning show.

But as I kept reading, I learned why Brynn was the way she was and why Sebastian as the way he was as well, and I say bravo for the in-depth character development.

Overall I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading more titles by Bethany Turner.

Brynn has invested a lot of time and energy towards leaving her past behind. But, when a blunder threatens her "sweetheart" status she has to return to her roots to try to save her reputation and her career. Sebastian has lived life in the spotlight and ended up coming to Adelaide Springs heartbroken and lost. He has found a safe place within the town limits and wants to help save it! Can these two help each other to save the town, and Brynn's career? I am such a fan of this author, and I feel like her stories are so unique with her delightful combo of wit, humor and romance! The beauty that stood out to me in this story was found within the townspeople of Adelaide Springs! I loved the way redemption and forgiveness was portrayed through the townspeople and their relationship with Brynn. I'm always a fan of a love story, but I was surprised to find within these pages the beauty of finding acceptance and forgiveness when none is expected, which is such a wonderful example of God's love for us, and seeing it through this story brought tears to my eyes a couple of times. I look forward to what comes next from this author!

The book started off with a bang, but I unfortunately lost interest in the next few chapters.

Brynn did not do it for me – I did not like her personality – and I was very neutral about Sebastian. While I love small town romances, I did not care for Adelaide Springs though its inhabitants were fun.

This book did not keep my attention unfortunately.

Points to the cute cover!

2.5 stars rounded down.

I received an ARC of this book (thanks!) and these are my own opinions.

Brynn was known as the sunny cohost of America’s favorite morning show until one on-air mistakenly has everyone thinking she is the meanest of the mean girls. Wanting to apologize and remind America she is from humble beginnings, she heads home to her small Colorado town. Sebastian was a superstar reporter with a reputation for being in the center of the action - until something snapped inside him and he vanished from the scene. When Sebastian is assigned to chauffeur Brynn around Adelaide Springs, they don’t hit if off. It's hard to play nice around someone you hate . . . especially when you might just be crazy about them.

I liked this a lot more than I thought I would! At the beginning of the book, I really hated Brynn - but she grew on me. The audiobook was great!

This was a really funny read. I loved the chemistry that Brynn and Sebastian have with each other. I would definitely read another Bethany Turner book.

Sometimes I find enemies to pvers difficult to pull off and this is a great example of why. Brynn is such an insufferable character, not just to Sebastian but to everyone around her. She defaults to being fake sweet to people, but at her core, she's rude and bratty. I have a really hard time picturing Sebastian getting over that enough to fall for her. This was a skip for me.

Brynn and Sebastian Hate Each Other by Bethany Turner is a delightful enemies-to-lovers romance filled with humor, heart, and irresistible chemistry. Turner's witty banter and engaging characters make this a fun and entertaining read for fans of contemporary romance.

Dnf at 26% Brynn was so annoying no wonder sebastian didn't like her. 🙄

This book felt like a Hallmark movie but even better.
I just love myself a good Grumpy/Sunshine, small town romance and this one was a delight to read.
The writing was really smooth, everything in this story felt natural and real.
This was my first book by Bathany Turner, but I do plan on reading her new title as well: Cole and Laila Are Just Friends.

When you need a story that will make you laugh, smile and swoon, this is the story for you. I liked the banter between Sybastian and Brynn. It was fun to watch! I have to say that sometimes the side characters are the best. The variety of charaters and personalities throughout this story made me laugh and smile. Especially Orly. I could picture him well.
The chemistry throughout the story going back and forth between dislike and attraction made this a fun romantic comedy. I liked how they both had to face the past and learn from it. Although it was a lighthearted story, the lessons in the story bring a depth to the story. I think the reader take some valuable truths from this story as well.
I'm excited to share this story with others.

This was so cool
The enemies to love trope was off the charts
Second book from this author truly enjoyed it

I just did not believe this relationship. Brynn was a complete brat and Sebastian had every reason to dislike her after the way she was continuously rude to everyone around her. Unless, of course, she was being super fake sweet to people. Then she apparently has an epiphany and starts acting like a decent person (hello whiplash) and suddenly he thinks she's incredible. This shift took less than 12 hours. Talk about insta-love.

This book was not for me.
I’m normally a sucker for sunshine x grumpy trope and enemies to lovers, but this was just not comprehensive.

Brynn was just really mean and then suddenly switched, and I just don’t think it worked for her to be the sunshine, because she simply was not.
Sebastian didn’t live up to the grumpy trope as well.
and they were both enemies without envy reason to be. there were no backstory for them, nothing.
I did not enjoy it.

I have to be honest and I just really didn‘t click with this one. I was fighting to get through for some reason but I had to dnf in the end.
The characters annoyed me so much and she felt so entitled to me for some reason.
I‘m sorry
