Corto, ligero, e interesante. Me dieron ganas de seguir leyendo más de la historia.
If you like this kind of graphic novels you can read it perfectly.
I received a copy of this book for free through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Admittedly, I haven't read a Batman universe comic in a while. Nevertheless, Catwoman always fascinated me. Selina Kyle is the archetypical thief with the heart of gold. She is forever her own self, regardless of whether or not the others in her life agree with what that is - most notably Bruce, her sometimes lover. She's an intriguing character, and Wilson seems to grasp that nuance well within this mini-series.
Selina is after something that once was hers. When a child, her mother had to sell a treasured family heirloom - in this case a broach from Nazi Occupied France. Her mother sold this broach to pay for rent, but Selina long-suspected that this broach was worth far more than what her mother sold it for. Her suspicions are fully confirmed when it goes up for auction as the crown jewel of the event.
It wouldn't be One Bad Day if things went well. Wilson provides some twists and turns, complete with interesting introspection for Selina. Does it matter, what the broach is worth or not? How different is she to the 'villain', to Batman? This is Catwoman's story, and it is entertaining from start to finish.
I have been enjoying the One Bad Day series so when I saw that G. Willow Wilson was going to be writing Catwoman I was so excited. I am a huge Ms. Marvel fan and have enjoyed everything I have read by Wilson. So for her to get to write in my top 3 fandoms I was so excited. The story was great, the art was excellent. I could not put this book down and was so glad that I preordered it.
5 stars
First off I want to thank DC and Netgalley for allowing me to read this ARC.
Catwoman has always been my favorite character in the DC world. I try to read everything that she is a part of so I was very excited when I got the opportunity to read One Bad Day: Catwoman.
The story is about Selina getting back a family heirloom that her mother had to sell to provide for her children. The twists in the story keep it moving at a quick pace which is appropriate for a story about this anti-hero. The story is fun and matches well with Catwoman's personality. Not for sure if this belongs in the One Bad day lineup but still an enjoyable read.
Loved the chemistry between Batman and Selina. It was a nice touch to an already good story. The artwork is vivid and colorful which we don't always get in a story centered around Gotham. I really liked that Selina would go out in her costume and nobody really batted an eye at it. This was just a normal day in the life of a Gothamite.
I gladly give this a 5 stars. Everyone needs to read this who is a fan of Catwoman!
The Batman “One Bad Day” stories have been some of my favorite to come out this year. Each issue digs a bit deeper into Batman’s infamous rogues gallery—highlighting a key villain. This one focusing on Catwoman.
Catwoman is many things—villain, seductress and Batman’s irresistible desire, but this story highlights her greatest asset, her ability to steal.
However, this isn’t your typical diamonds for profit tale, instead focusing on Selina’s attempt to recover a piece of her past.
Without giving too many details away, it’s an enjoyable read and a grounded approach to this historical Batman “villain.” G. Willow Wilson does a great job of exploring the human aspects of Catwoman, as well as tugging at your heart strings. As someone who grew up on the lower end of the income bracket, the story hit close to home.
“Why do I steal? Because what things cost has nothing to do with what they’re worth” - Selina Kyle
Special thanks to DC and NetGalley for allowing me to read this title.
A fun Catwoman one shot (that's part of DC's One Bad Day series) that involves a missing family heirloom- or is it? We get a brief encounter with Bats and a new (or at least new to me) villain whose name might be considered a spoiler, so I'll leave it for readers to discover on their own.
Batman: One Bad Day: Catwoman by G. Willow Wilson.
What a delightful ball of yarn for a mischievous kitten to play with. This story has everything one could hope for in a Catwoman story: Wit, charm, daring do, clever banter, romance, and story beats not unlike those of a well-planned heist... and it packs an emotional wallop.
This yarn unspools to reveal a connection to our feline friend's past that may not be quite what they expect. It introduces an intriguing new character and features brief appearances of a long-established one. A caper turns sideways in the most interesting fashion.
Cons: The story ended much too quickly. It left me wanting for more.
G. Willow Wilson continues to surprise me (not unlike the title of this work - this is definitely a Selina Kyle story). What a wonderful author. Can't wait to read her next work.
This story is a saucer full of the finest cream, set out on the stoop for all wandering strays by one of the greatest, sometimes benevolent, cat burglars of all time.
Overall rating: 4 stars
#NetGalley
I haven't read many of the issues in the One Bad Day series, but One Bad Day: Catwoman will probably blow the others out of the water. I was quite sad to hit the end; it was that good of a story. Also there was a scene that made me quite happy.
A day in the life of Catwoman. It was fun and interesting. The "competition" is what I found most intriguing. Looking forward to knowing more about this person. The story was Solid. The art was just average for me but better than not liking it. Definitely a can't miss for Batman and Catwoman fans but also for people wanting to get to know a new character.
I got to the end and immediately wanted more. I LOVED this Selina Catwoman – she was iconic and sexy and badass and I wanted to both be her and be with her. I also was obsessed with the batman cameo and their little romance (had me giggling).
The only reason I am giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because it felt a little self indulgent at times – too much introspective talk after a while. I did however love that she spoke to us as an audience, breaking the fourth wall in just the right moments.
I also really messed with the artwork. All the designs were great and nothing felt wasted. Plus catwoman was hot and even batman looked fine.
The story was cute and short and I want more asap!
One Bad Day: Catwoman by G. Willow Wilson and Jamie McKelvie is the perfect encapsulation of Selina Kyle and is an intimate character study into her psyche. If you're looking for a quick, perfect introduction to Catwoman, this book is perfect for you; she looks back into her past and examines her relationship with her family while looking to the present for answers. Having never read a Catwoman book before, I enjoyed every page graced by McKelvie's expressive and intricate layouts.
One Bad Day: Catwoman centers on Selina Kyle pulling a heist to steal an item from her past and return it to its rightful (?) owner, but nothing is ever so easy in Gotham City. Filled with twists and turns, every page is guaranteed to keep you entertained. Selina's status as one of the most indicative morally grey characters in pop culture is brought to the spotlight and guides the plot well; Wilson's decision to convey the story through Selina's train of thought gives the reader a personal and well-informed look at her moral makeup and how it informs the decisions she makes throughout the course of the issue. Selina's skillset is also shining brightly throughout the events of the one-shot, having her sly, charming dialogue with the various people she encounters be supported by her skills as the acrobatic thief we all know and love.
This is my first review I've ever written, and I'm incredibly honored to have received this ARC from DC Comics. I will definitely be picking the issue up when it drops!
(PS: I've already found a Catwoman reading guide and will be making my way through ASAP.)
Short, sweet, and just ok. The monolog was preachy at times and the backstory made Selina human. Too human, I think. I don't find her to be as street smart as previous iterations. The moment with Batman was odd and seemed like it was placed just because of her wider history with him.
Again, just ok. Not the Catwoman I had in mind.
Thank you to Netgalley and the oublisher for an ecopy to review
5/5 stars
This was a great, albeit short, story that delves into Selina Kyle's past and how she continues to grow from her troubled childhood. There is plenty a mix of action, character development, and romance, with a well written plot that comes to a satisfying end. I particularly loved the characterization of Catwoman, and I feel the author has a good handle on her personality and style.
Overall, I would recommend this book.
I received a free eARC from Netgalley, all opinions are my own.
I requested this for a few reasons, the first of which is my love for Selina Kyle. The next is because I adore pretty much anything Jamie McKelvie works on, and I've liked some of G. Willow Wilson's work in the past. Also, that cover is GORGEOUS. The costume redesign? The texture? The use of shadows? Absolute perfection.
This was a touching story, especially for it's short length, since while it says the length is 88 pages officially, my e-arc was only 64 (this was likely due to the condensation of two page spreads, lack of credit pages, etc.). Overall I really enjoyed this! It was nice to see Selina's life from this perspective, the action scenes were flawless, and I loved the interactions between Selina and the guest star of the story.
I think the story itself is more of a 4 star read, but because the art was so good I'm bumping it up to five because I already want to go back and reread for the sake of admiring the art. Batman: One Bad Day: Catwoman is definitely something I'll want to read again, and something I'll be recommending to anyone who enjoys comics!
Very cool story. unexpected turn of events with one and only Batman. Great character insights and action. More please.
Thank you NetGalley, G. Willow Wilson, DC Entertainment, and DC Comics for allowing me to read an advanced copy of Batman: One Bad Day: Catwoman.
When this popped up during my search for something new on NetGalley, my eyes went wide at the cover art. Selina looks stellar here. The artwork is consistent throughout and the colors are so vivid and inviting.
The story itself was entertaining with Selina being Selina and an appearance by Batman. I liked how brief the writing was because it got right to the point. I'll be dreaming about the artwork though. Definitely want to buy a paper version for my collection.

Buyable/Re-readable?: YUP. I'm either buying this one or the entire One Bad Day boxset.
I may or may not have screamed when I saw the approval e-mail for this. Just sayin'.
For a graphic novel this got pretty deep, from addressing people determining your worth vs you knowing your worth to classism. It's a great snippet of Selina and her life, featuring her sister and Batman for a moment. She breaks the fourth wall, too, though only a few times, and I found it done in a natural, fun way. I already adore the author and artist, and them teaming up yet again didn't disappoint - I need more, honestly. I am putting this in my Top Ten of 2023; it's that good.
There was a rather touching and fascinating detail about World War II jewelry that I wondered whether or not it was accurate or simply created for the DC world; I found that jewelry did indeed include semi-precious stones over others during said wartime, and that "(E)laborate and naturalistic designs of florals, animals and birds to contrast the grave reality of the death and destruction of war" were favored [ https://www.truefacet.com/guide/jewelry-style-periods/ ] Either way, loved this bit.
P.S. The brooch reminds me of Ravenclaw, LoL No qualms there!
This is a spoiler free review.
Batman: One Bad Day: Catwoman is a great one-shot story about a cat, a mysterious crime that hits really home for our hero, a bat, and one really bad day.
Batman: One Bad Day: Catwoman is another comic book in the Batman One Bad Day series of comics. These one-shot issues are about really bad days that Batman's rogues gallery have. This is the first issue of the One Bad Day series I've gotten to read and I really enjoyed reading it. Batman: One Bad Day: Catwoman includes all of your favorite elements from a good Catwoman and Batman story: a mysterious crime, something that strikes Selina's interest in the crime, Batman tries to be the hero, but in the end, Catwoman solves the crime and does it her way.
One of the best aspects of this story is that we get to see some of Selina Kyle's past and some hard moments she had as a child with her family. The story shows us a few flashbacks where we get to see Selina, her Mother, and sister when they had a really bad day. Most Catwoman stories that show her past only show Selina when she was a teen on the streets doing what she had to do to survive. This comic was different and I liked we got to see Selina when she was more innocent. Then fast forward to today and we find Selina being pulled by her past to do a good deed today.
The artwork in Batman: One Bad Day: Catwoman is beautiful. The illustrations are awesome and really fit in so well with the different tones in each scene. I really liked the art of Selina as a child with her family. Also, the scenes with Catwoman and Batman are great. The artwork helps show how much they care for each other but they each have a different way of doing things.
I highly recommend reading Batman: One Bad Day: Catwoman. It's a really entertaining story that has some emotional and fun scenes. The next time I'm at a comic store I plan on buying another Batman One Bad Day issue and see what happens on another villain's bad day...
Stay Awesome and keep reading!

Batman - One Bad Day: Catwoman is everything that you love our about our feline anti-hero. It's fierce, fabulous, and fresh. This story follows Catwoman as she capers about Gotham and the twists in this story keep it moving at a quick pace. It's a great story and I loved every bit of its
The illustrations in this story are so vivid and sleek. I genuinely enjoyed how colorful and how current the fashion was. I'm always a huge fan of the Gotham city life and I feel like Catwoman showcases this is in a fantastic way.
Check out this great graphic novel. I loved it!
G. Willow Wilson crafted a fun Catwoman one-shot, while Jamie McKelvie’s illustrations brought the words to life.
Seeing a glimpse into Selina Kyles’s past was a refreshing take and created another layer to the already complex character.
The art was exceptional and I’m looking forward to discovering more of Jamie McKelvie’s work
A very solid, fun, quick read. I would not be disappointed if there were future encounters between Catwoman and The Forger.
