This is a good book. The two main characters are Camille and Freddy. They are both divorce lawyers. They meet in a club and have a one night stand. There is an instant attraction. They meet again in court. They both have clients that are getting a divorce. They both have issues but together they work them out and fall in love.
I loved getting to read about the Domme/submissive from the other way around. I am so used to reading about from the D/s being the male is always Dom that this one sucked me right in. I loved being able to see things from this perspective. Freddy and Camille have these personalities that you can't help but like no matter the situation that they are in. Being able to see them outside of the club and the way they handle not only their jobs but their relationship with each other was great! Beautifully written and I definitely will be reading more of this series!!
This is the first book of the Masters of Marquis series that I have read…….. and boy do I want to devour the rest of them now.
Freddy and Camille are absolutely perfect for each and their journey together is great. I loved that there were so many side stories embedded into theirs, leaving room for past romances and future ones. I am incredibly excited about Master Asad and Morgan’s story.
I loved Freddy and Mistress Camille together.
Golden Angel has given us another couple to fall in love with, Mistress Camille and Freddy spend New Year’s Eve together then meet again across the table from one another each representing their client in their divorce proceedings…can we say AWKWARD 😉
I have really been enjoying this series and Freddy is one person that is a constant presence in each of the books, he is a submissive that works at the club and has befriended just about everyone there and they all know if they have questions or need help he is the person to go to.
Mistress Camille is visiting Marquis as her friend Mistress Julie's guest while she rediscovers herself, a part of herself that she has push aside for a few years but has decided it's time to revisit the Domme in her and get her groove back.
I loved the way Golden Angel didn't shy away from giving Freddy exactly what he needed, a strong confident woman both inside and outside of the bedroom that was still mindful enough that she allowed Freddy to be who he was...the perfect service submissive. It may have taken him a while to find the one but there's no denying that Camille is the perfect woman for him.
There is a bit of angst but nothing over the top and this book set up the next in the series nicely, I am really looking forward to SHALLOW SUBMISSION which is due out in October.
If you enjoy STEAMY Contemporary Romances, BDSM Romances, or Interracial Romances I would recommend this book to you.
Happy Reading!!!
Freddy is a fan favorite. Perpetually single, bi service sub Freddy always has an ear and a shoulder for those who should need it. He is happy for his friends who have found their happiness he just wishes he could find his.
Camille has put everything aside to care for her ill mother. She is working long hours at a soul sucking job and hasn’t done anything for herself in a long time.
When Camille and Freddy meet you can feel the chemistry. I was thrilled for Freddy. Watching Camille find a balance in her life was uplifting. This story had me smiling and rooting for them both.
Though this is part of a series it can be read standalone.
I have enjoyed the couple of books I've read from this series by Golden Angel. I loved her Stronghold series so wanted to back track to read this spin off. I really NEED to to get the first three since they are more up my alley with dominant men. This was Freddy and Camille's story. I loved Freddy from the previous book, as well as other characters. Seeing characters from book to book and series to series is fun and satisfying for the fans. Since I was invested in his HEA, I was willing to give this domme storyline a chance. I really enjoyed it and glad I grab it. I really liked Camille too. My heart ached for her. She was perfect for Freddy in every way. I'm certain I'll reread this. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book in this series.
4.5 stars.
Camille and Freddy are truly made for each other. Something I loved about this couple is the way the make the other better. Their chemistry is out of discussion. They’re so hot together! But when they’re dealing with the external issues surrounding them is when they shine the most. Their interactions are organic and believable.
This is book 5 of the Masters of Marquis series. I haven’t read previous books yet—in fact, this my first book from this author—but I can see some secondary characters that I suppose to be familiar to the readers of the series. And I found some of them interesting and alluring. The best thing is those characters, even having glimpses of their storylines in this book, didn’t steal the light from the main characters.
As I said, this is my first book from Golden Angel and I found it very revealing. All the details brought from the Dom/sub dynamics and culture are fascinating and instructive in a weird but interesting way. Also, there are real conflicts you can relate. A book well written with wonderful dialogues, spectacular settings and scenes perfectly structured, the story achieved its goal: getting you hooked with the series. I will go check previous books of course! Needless to say that I’m looking forward for future books on this series.

ARC given by Netgalley and The Next Step PR in exchange of an honest review.
Freddy is the most caring, kind and protective guy. Being a submissive it’s an interesting juxtaposition with his career as a divorce lawyer, where he can display a more forceful and dominant side. This blend makes him such a great character to read as he doesn’t fit into any box. Add in Camille who has put aside everything in life for her career and her quest to start reengaging in life. Their chemistry is instant and off the charts. Once they realize they are opposing lawyers in a messy divorce battle, the struggle to keep things professional becomes real. This is a great read and definitely hot, hot, hot! Their hea is especially satisfying as they are both so deserving of someone who will take care of them.
I'm just gonna say it, I'm not a fan of Fem-Dom Romances. Most authors can't do them well. But I've read the Stronghold and Marquis series faithfully and LOVED Freddy as a secondary character. Golden Angel gave him an amazing Domme and HEA. Camille is a high powered attorney who's been out of the scene a while. Coming to Marquis on New Year's Eve she meets Freddy and sparks fly. The next Monday they discover they are adversaries across the legal table. The scenes at Marquis/ Stronghold were HAWT, but I must admit I felt their date scenes were so organic and natural. I loved that there were conflicts, but these weren't insurmountable. These characters talked to one another. And the side story of drama at the clubs and multiple friend groups that sometimes overlap and sometimes conflict is so real life I felt as if I could be in this world. Great hook for the next story in the series.
This is a wonderful addition to the series. I've been waiting to read Freddy's story and this did not disappoint. Camille finally gets herself back after leaving the scene by going to Marquis with her friend Julie. When she meets Freddy sparks fly and it is almost insta-love. Their day jobs make things difficult but they make it through. This book has everything you expect from this series. Love, troubles, drama and an amazing heat level.
Oh I loved this book! Camille and Freddy were explosive together. There is one little thing that is temporarily standing in their way... the evil day job and their clients. Freddy is one of those characters that I wanted to have an HEA. He is so personable and everyone goes to him. He needs someone to actually take care of him, to put him first, to give to him. Camille is that person. Strong and caring, she pushes his boundaries and gives him everything he needs and more. I love how things played out and even the karma moments in this book. I am ready for the next!
LEGALLY BOUND by Golden Angel.
Masters of Marquis #5.
After one unforgettable night with the Domme of his dreams, Freddy knows he wants more. Camille is beautiful, bold, and the right amount of bossy. She also wants more from Freddy, too. But before the pair can reconnect at the club, they find each other in the last place either expect: at the negotiating table of a nasty divorce case, representing opposing clients.
Really good read. I did like Freddy and Camille story. 4*.
What started off as a casual pairing evolves into a solid relationship. Being adversaries on a contentious divorce case becomes a sort of foreplay for them that definitely carries over to the dungeon and the bedroom. Think Legal Eagles meets 50 Shades.
Camille Sinclair has a valid reason for having to continue to work for the law firm that steals a bit of her soul daily. Thankfully due a good friend's persistence, Camille finally slides back into her Domme persona and it still fits like a glove. Despite her friends' good intentions of finding her a submissive, Camille makes her own choice. Alfred "Freddy" Johan is one of the good ones. He's a friend to almost everyone, a great listener and a should to cry on when it's needed. Despite all that he feels alone at times lonely and he definitely gets lonely even when surrounded by others. So getting a toe curling New Years kiss from a gorgous Domme may be the best present he's gotten in ages. Spending a kinky night with her? Priceless. Camille quickly begins to realize that having Freddy come into her life starts giving her back small pieces of it. Their relationship quickly heats up though they're forced to be circumspect until their divorce case is signed, sealed and delivered. After that? What was great becomes extraordinary.
Quick Summary: A kink and fetish coupling with an insta 💓
My Review: Legally Bound by Golden Angel was book five in the Masters of Marquis series. Overall, the book was an ok read. It was stacked with characters. It revealed the exploits of many club members and presented their crisscrossing stories.
At the heart of this installment, readers discover Freddy and Camille. Both leads are lawyers for opposing firms, yet they don't know it. Prior to meeting across the table, they scene together at a gathering. They click so well and want more. When they find themselves in an unavoidable situation, they are shocked. How will they choose to handle their special circumstance?
My Final Say: There are many things that can be said about this book. Off the top, readers will find this book to be eye-opening. There was so much detail placed in the various K and F scenarios. They will see unique dom-sub relationships. They will be exposed to gender roles and the associated power and/or perceptions linked to them. They will also see a multicultural mash up.
While I was able to follow along with the story fairly well, I got lost with some of the storylines of supporting cast. There was so much referenced that I wish I knew about. Generally, I am able to read installment books out of sequence, with no problems. This one was a yea but no, in terms of that. Still, I walked away being able to see a shared interest in more from the featured couple.
Lastly, some of the revealed content seemed to show inconsistencies. Without spoiling anything for other readers, I'll just say that a couple of times, things were mentioned by one of the characters as being a like, then later, it was like it had not even been mentioned. I was thrown off by this.

I was afforded an opportunity to review a digital ARC of this title thanks to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley. The words I have shared are my own and have not been influenced by the aforementioned in any way.
Legally Bound is the 5th book in the Masters of Marquis series, but is has plenty of characters from Stronghold making cameo appearances, too. Freddy is a wonderful person, caring perhaps too much at times about his fellow subs. Camille is his perfect counterpart, soft-hearted herself, she needs him to re-discover the steel in her spine to turn both their lives towards a brighter future. I loved this entertaining page-turner of a book with its steamy scenes, witty banter, serious undertones and a great happy ending. I am looking forward to catching glimpses of them in the next books to come.
