Who doesn't love any book by Ron Roy? I love all of them and this one does not disappoint! The characters, introduced in The Absent Alpacas, are back with another fun story. I like how they interact with and support each other. They show real feelings as they deal with some real-life problems. A like a group that works together instead of being against each other. A fun read with likable characters.

Great mystery series for those who like Magic Tree House mysteries, Boxcar Children mysteries and I appreciate the diversity of the characters and their abilities.

A fun new series centering around the A to Z series .

In this book Abbi ,Lydia and Daniel are having a sleepover at Abbi’s home ( a castle ) when they hear a high pitch sound . Is it a ghost ? Or a something else? Our young detectives set out to find out the answer to this mystery.

I just reviewed A to Z Animal Mysteries #2: Bats in the Castle by Ron Roy; Kayla Whaley. #AtoZAnimalMysteries2BatsintheCastle #NetGalley

An enjoyable continuation of the A to Z Mystery series of books. Students will enjoy following favorite characters into new/different problems and working to solve the mystery alongside the characters.

As someone who has read all of the original A to Z Mysteries, I absolutely loved this new installment. I love how the characters are connected to those in the original series, but also can stand on their own (which is great for readers who have not read other books in the series). The characters are diverse, fun, and kids will relate to them. As readers enjoy the story, they will learn a lot about bats, tools scientists use when studying bats, and they will learn new scientific vocabulary. Kids will definitely want to do more research to learn about bats and they'll appreciate all of the bat facts included at the end of the book. A great read for young kids! Perfect for second and third graders!

This is a wonderful build-on to the A to Z Mystery Series, which is still so popular. This modernized version of that exciting young readers' series encompasses the technology of today by including cell phones and bringing it up to date. It's especially good to see the character of Abbi in her wheelchair with an explanation of spinal muscular atrophy.
The mystery of a loud noise is sure to keep young readers reading to solve that mystery. At the same time, the authors are providing information about bats. Facts about bats are incorporated throughout the story as well as the suspense of figuring out if a ghost is, literally, in the house. The Bat Facts From A to Z, at its conclusion, are especially informative.
The themes of friendship, understanding and comradery are woven throughout the pages. The illustrations enhance the text.
Above all, it is an exciting and fun read.

I loved that this book series has come back in another form to try to enagage new readers. The fact that there is a disabled main character warmed my heart and made me love it even more. I think it is a wonderful book that will get more kids wanting to read. I will share this with my students for sure.

Following a new group of friends, these books update Ron Roy's series to a more relatable scene. The group is more diverse with Abbi in a wheelchair thanks to her Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). The animal theme is such a draw for young readers looking to branch into chapter books and the simple mystery is perfect for book lovers and mystery hunters alike!

Full color illustrations. My nine year old son read this one. It brought a smile to his face to read it. He thought that it was funny. He also said that it was exciting. He thought that it was well written. Additionally, he thought that the description of the animal made him sound cute. He would recommend this title to other students his age.

Thank you so much to NetGalley for giving us the chance to read this title!!
