this was a fine novel, but unfortunately i didn’t really get to connect with it. it kind of dragged at times and i didn’t really feel engaged in the “mystery”; i’m partly to blame, though, because i expected this to be more of a quiet historical novel. i do think people who are into more thriller-y stuff will enjoy it, though.
