Super cute book about a cat who is trying to have a party with his friends and his neighbor isn't happy about it.
The illustrations are really cute and there's a rhyming scheme. My nephews will love this!
Sam Francisco, King of the Disco by Sarah Tagholm and Illustrated by Binny Talib was purrrly fun. I read this with my niece and we loved the images and the different music that DJ Sam the cat would play. I really enjoyed that it brought in a variety of styles of music into the story. The rhyme and the illustrations were an added part to this story to make it even more fun. I mean who doesn’t know a “Buzzkill Bill”. This is totally something fun to add to my music classroom. This is a funny little book for cat lovers and rowdy neighbors alike! I love the illustrations and the storyline in this one. I love that Sam has a neighbor that has and will try to sabotage Sam's choice in nightly activities in whatever way he can. I think this one would make for a great bedtime story.
I enjoyed reading this book. The illustrations were beautiful and really helped move this story along. As this story came to a close, we saw someone learn a great lesson. Kids will have a great time reading this book.
I LOVED THIS. I thought it was such a fun story and loved that it rhymed! I loved that the nosy neighbor was thwarted by disco and having fun and dancing. TO DISCO! It was all just so great.
This is an adorable book! I thought it was such a fun and enjoyable story. I would love to go to one of Sam's parties, he knows how to get down. Clearly he couldn't be stopped. I definitely will be purchasing this for myself, when I have kids. I also would love to get this for friends and family with kids as well. This will so fun to read out loud. I'm going to see if the author has written other books as well because I'd love to buy them..
This was such a random pick for me but I'm so happy I got approved for it. Plus, I am a kid at heart so this was just too precious to pass on.

This book was co cute. My daughter loves cats so this book was a big hit and she especially loves cute rhyming stories and because they are easy to follow and have fun phrasing she usually requests to read them over and over and this was no exception. And with such cute kitty characters I cant blame her!
Sam Francisco is the delightful story of Sam, a cat who (with a bunch of his cat friends) crept out of the house at night and had a loud disco party in the street. They were bothering the neighbor, but everyone the neighbor sent to shut down the party ended up jamming with the cats, until it became a party for the whole neighborhood!
Fun illustrations, lovely rhymes, and a great way to teach kids to stand up and be themselves! This is one you can read over and over again. The writing almost reads like a song! ❤️

The cats are out and ready to party! Sam Francisco, the "King of the Disco," begins his tunes as the others come out and play. But troublemaker neighbor Bill wants them gone, yet the King of the Disco, Sam, always plays music for everyone to enjoy. Bright colors and sparkly outfits will entice the readers as they flip through the pages of dancing cats, fire brigades, dogs, and kids. Are you ready to dance?
This was pretty cute. Cats have a noisy dance party and bother a neighbor. Lots of fun colors and shapes.

Title: Sam Francisco: King of the Disco
By: Sarah Tagholm and Binny Talib
Release Date: September 19, 2023
Rating: 3/5
Sam Francisco: King of the Disco is a cute picture book about a group of cats that sneak out of their homes to have a disco party. I loved the vividly colorful illustrations on the page spreads at the party. These scenes sharply contrast with those that take place outside of the party. I appreciated that the story rhymes and I think it would be a fun story to use to help teach young children that concept. The antagonist of the book appears on a few pages, but those pages are a bit duller looking than the fun scenes. He also largely looks the same from scene to scene. I just wished that character had been fleshed out a little more.
Overall, I thought that this book was a fun story that young children will enjoy. I know many 5 and 6 year olds that are constantly begging for books with cats and this one would definitely satisfy that request!

Fantastic illustrations and inventive characters and outfits. Very reminiscent of other ornery animal stories, but missing an element to really set it apart. I think I wanted a resolution with the cranky neighbor or at least some inclusion in the party. It's okay to be fun and thoughtful.
One of my favorite things to do is read to my kiddos when we are stuck somewhere like a doctors waiting room. My kids enjoyed this one! The rhyming is fantastic and we love all the music. The pictures are amazing- absolutely incredible illustrations, the costumes festive, and cats… we love cats!
I was a little taken aback when my 5 year old asked about why the cat was sneaking out the window and if people do that? And then was a little concerned at the messaging that when you are disturbing the neighborhood in the middle of the night, you just make it louder because it’s just the cranky man’s problem… the messaging there seemed off.

Really fun illustrations and font. I loved the look of this book. Sam is a fun and engaging character. I’m just not sure what the moral of the book is? Sam disturbs his neighbor and the solution is to be even more bothersome. Not the best example for kids. (This opinion could be influenced by the fact that I’m a real life buzzkill bill who needs their sleep).
This is a really cute book with bright, colorful illustrations. I think many kids will enjoy the story and sound effects that are throughout it.
Very cute! Almost too short. The pictures are cute. I would have liked more story.
Thanks @netgalley for the eARC!
This book is tons of fun, especially for kids who love cats and music! The art is delightful, the costumes are silly, and the story is a fun little ride. Parents MIGHT run into trouble when their kids want to disco at 2 AM and they have to be the Buzzkill Bill...but I don't have kids so it's not my problem. A+!
This was a very cute picture book. I can see this being very popular with kids who like to dance and who like cats.
If I could give this book 1 million stars, I would. I thought this book was such a fun read, especially for children and their parents. I can definitely see this being a popular book at my library.
This is a cute book about Cats listening to music and partying late at night. The illustration in this book is also well done and cute.
This would make a great bedtime stories or a book for kids starting to read.Thank You netgalley
