This was a quick read. At first, it was interesting, but as it went on, it lost something. And the end was a massive disappointment. I couldn't believe that it ended so abruptly really and the reader was left really wondering what was going to happen when that door was locked.

This book grabbed my attention and I couldn't put it down. The twists were unexpected and it made me want to keep reading.

This is a amazing twisty read kept me guessing until the end I just couldn't put it down it kept me up way past my bed time

OMG that ending!!! I loved this book. The characters were so well developed that I loved even the most unlikable ones. I felt like I was in the scenes with them, love love love Amanda Cassidy's writing style. 5 stars!

A good read
But slow at the start
But really got into it
Loved the ending
Can’t wait for her next book
Thanks NetGalley

A debut novel worthy of praise. Breaking is a good read. It has a great plot, and is well-written. The characters on the other hand are complex and maybe jarring to some readers. I figure, the characters may make the readers love or hate this book. However that is also a sign of a well-written book.

Mirren Fitzpatrick was drinking at the beachside bar when her eight-year-old daughter vanished from the water's edge. As searchers fail to find the missing child, the media circus grows. Everyone questions what kind of mother Mirren was. I had my suspicions about Mirren, because early chapters make it clear that she's never really bonded with her adopted daughter. The characters are hard to like. There's a lot going on, though, and even though I thought I could tell where the plot was headed, the end was not what I expected.

I was lucky to receive an advance copy of Breaking by Amanda Cassidy from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinions. This is a new author for me and I understand it's her debut book. I did enjoy it but at times found it to be a bit slow. I was so glad I stuck with it as it really picks up and has a few surprises in store for everyone. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading more by her in the near future. Thanks for the chance to read it early!

I cannot believe that this is a debut, if this is her first book then WOW i need more of her books in my life. I loved it

This was a definite slow burner and took a while to get into. But generally an enjoyable read that was fast paced and kept your interest, I found the main character very likeable and struggled to connect with but I think that was the authors aim. A good ending I didn't really see coming, this would be a perfect holiday read.

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to receive this book for an honest review.
I loved the cover but unfortunately did not love the book. It bothered me how a mother is harrassed when her child is kidnapped. I found the book slow and struggled to get through it.

Unfortunately, I just didnt connect with the main character. I found it dragged on a bit, I just didnt feel the suspense of the missing person case.

Thanks to the publisher for an advanced copy in exchange for a review. This book was a little slow and took me a bit to get through. I felt bad for the mother whose child has been kidnapped yet she is being scrutinized as she was drinking at the time. But as the story unfolds, she doesn't seem to be the most compassionate mother. I found this a bit odd. Overall I enjoyed the story but at times it was difficult to get through.

I absolutely loved this book! I was hooked from the beginning and didn’t see the end coming. Perfect for a holiday book list. Can’t wait to read her next book. It was exciting. I could not put it down. Very well written Great plot

An enjoyable story that I wanted to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next! I will definately read more books by this author!

I had a hard time getting into this one. It was not quite as fast paced and thrilling as I had hoped.

Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for allowing me to read this ARC.
This is my first title by this author and will read more in the future.
I requested this book as i was drawn in by the cover and thought it looked interesting.
I did find this book a little slow in some places but it did pick up at times.
Will recommend this to anyone looking for a thriller.
Thanks again for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
3/5 stars

It took me a while to get into this story, and I do think it could have been fine tuned a bit more. However, it’s a very easy page-turner and I was invested in the plot, desperate to know what happened.
All the characters a bit difficult to feel any connection with, and certain character side plots could have been explained or fleshed out more.
Overall, a quick thriller that would make for great holiday reading. Lots of tough topics though.

I joined @tandemcollectiveuk for a readalong of Breaking by Amanda Cassidy. Sadly, it took me quite a while to get into the book so I missed most of the conversation. I did manage to plough through the book eventually but I found it quite slow and it didn’t flow in a way that worked for me.
The plot was intriguing and took some interesting twists but it lacked the pace of the high pressure missing persons hunt that I needed to get me turning the pages. I’d
I didn’t like many of the characters, Rhea was probably the most interesting and she barely got any airtime. Some of the subplots became quite consuming and I think this is what slowed down the pace.
It’s an interesting idea for a book but it didn’t quite work for me and I’ve read similar that I preferred.

On a family vacation, The Fitzpatrick’s and their two children are looking forward to an idyllic family holiday, until the youngest daughter goes missing whilst playing on the beach. Who is to blame and what happened to her?
The story is seen through the eyes of Mirren Fitzpatrick, the mother and Rolle, the detective on the case. It also features flashbacks in Mirren’s chapters. I enjoy this style of writing and it works well with this plot.
I’m not sure the characters come across as interesting or if I felt sorry or attached to any of them, but I did want to find out what happened to the young girl which kept me reading. It brings in elements of trafficking and drug smuggling within the investigation.
An enjoyable thriller with great pace and keeps you invested right to the end.
