Gigi, Listening was such a fun audiobook to listen to. Super cute, non spicy, delightful rom com, that will give you all the feels, the laughter and realizing that sometimes what you think you want isn't what you thought it would be. Gigi is one of the most relatable characters I've read, she is genuine, kind, and thoughtful , a little uptight about certain things, but around the right people she is truly herself! All of the characters had a great backstory and it was extremely well developed. I really loved that Gigi is a true romance book lover and had so many references to books I know and absolutely love! Gigi is a character you truly root for and just fall in love with.
Natalie Naudus did a great job with the audiobook and created incredibly distinct voices for each character and truly brought them to life!
Gigi is a super relatable character who is obsessed with books! She is a romance bookstore owner who has a massive crush on an audiobook narrator and her incredible friends surprise on her birthday with a ten day tour of England that is led by her crush! When she arrives, her crush isn't there but what else she can do? She has this amazing opportunity and is hopeful that he will be back a few days into the tour... but of course sparks fly with the bus driver Taj... Later on her actual crush comes back to the tour and she finally gets to meet him, but what will she do about these two guys?

Thank you NetGalley for the audiobook in exchange for an honest review. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Thank you NetGalley and RB Media got an ARC audiobook of Gigi, Listening, to listen to and review.
Gigi Rutherford loves love stories. She reads them, she sells them at her romance bookstore, and she could spend hours imagining the meet-cutes of every couple she encounters. But when it comes to her own love interests, Gigi is out of stock. Instead of enduring bad date after bad date, these days she’d rather curl up with her favorite audiobook and the only man who makes her heart skip a beat: Zane Wilkenson, the smooth-voiced narrator Gigi is convinced is her soulmate.
Then, she’s presented with the chance of a lifetime: a ten-day bus tour through the English countryside, an ocean away from her bookstore—all in the presence of Zane, in person, as he leads the tour.
But when Gigi arrives at the bus terminal in London, Zane is nowhere to be found. Until he shows up, she’s stuck with an eclectic group of fellow travelers: recently widowed and chatty Charlotte;
trivia-obsessed Francis; Jenny, a true-crime-makeup YouTuber documenting every detail for her subscribers; and Sindhi and Roshi, a long-married couple who can’t stop bickering. Then there’s the brooding bus driver, Taj, who Gigi finds infuriating yet also incredibly alluring . . .
With heart and charm, warmth and humor, Chantel Guertin explores the meaning of love and family—and how, sometimes, the journey to yourself is where you’ll find everything you’ve been searching for.
This book honestly was better than I expected it to be. It was very cute, closed door little romantic comedy. I actually laughed out loud, which is not typical for me. There was past trauma, and a little bit of predictability. There was also depth of each of the characters on the tour, bits of their story as well as a little bit of history through their travels. All in all, I enjoyed the book.
Okay, wow. I have so many mixed thoughts.
Starting with the good! The romance between Gigi and Taj was so freaking cute! It had me giggling, swooning, and yelling at my phone. I also really enjoyed how developed all of the characters became by the end of the book. Usually, with a big cast of characters, some are forgotten about or used just solely as background characters, but the author did an amazing job making each of the come to life. I honestly wish I had been on the tour with all of the them! I would have knitted with Charlotte and made YouTube videos with Jenny. Lastly, I did enjoy the description of the settings. I have never been to England, but the descriptions were so vivid, I didn't have any trouble picturing the scenes in my head.
Unfortunately, I do have to mention the parts I didn't like as much. Gigi crosses an entire ocean to meet the man who narrated her favorite audiobook because she was convinced they would fall in love. To me, it just feels a little....stalkerish? I also wish there had been more resolutions for the other characters. They were developed so beautifully but once she left England, most of them just got ignored.
All in all, it was a cute romance, but I think I would have enjoyed it if she'd been on the tour for a different reason and Taj had been the only love interest.
DNF'd at 13%. But, at least the narrator was good!
Normally, I'd at least wait until the story to pick up to DNF, but I was just not into this universe (and I feel like it should start before 10%). The archive date on Net Galley was closing, and I could not see myself listening to this for 5 hours each day for two days.
The main character is judgmental. She's judgemental about her brother and her date's enthusiasm for shrimp cocktail, while having an obsession with a man she has never met. We all have crushes on public figures, but I do not know anyone that actually thinks they are "the one." There was also a lot of description to just be description that does not affect or build upon the story/plot/characters.
Unfortunately, this will be tanking my feedback ratio.
Thank you to NetGalley and RB Media, for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
I enjoyed the travel aspect of this book and getting to visit the different locations but the rest of this book was unbelievable. The premise sounded somewhat interesting but the thought of someone going on a vacation based on the voice of an audiobook seems silly, not romantic. And the book continues in the same vein, making one ridiculous assumption after another and wasn’t really plausible for someone who is supposed to be business savvy (although I don’t know why I thought that). I get that she was suffering from the grief of losing her parents but her decisions were not well thought out and the book was predictable.
As a Michigan native, I LOVED this book. Especially the first few chapters that contained references like Hippie Hash at the Fleetwood diner and dinner at Knight's Steakhouse. And even references like Washington Street and Fourth Avenue.
I really enjoyed this romance. It came together on so many levels. I noticed that some of the ratings were lower than I expected; it surprised me. Its everything I need in a romance; I really don't prefer steamy-open door romance. I enjoyed the character development in Gigi, Listening.
Thank you .. .once again ... to NetGalley, for introducing me to a "new-to-me" author. I will definitely be looking forward to reading books by Chantel Guertin in the future!. Thank you for the opportunity to review Gigi, Listening in exchange for an honest review. Wonderfully narrated by Natalie Naudus. Also thank you to the publisher RB Media for approving my review request.
PS .. .I think it would be very cool to have book signings at Fleetwood diner and/or Knight's Steakhouse!
Thank you to NetGalley for the ebook and audiobook. The author was new to me and I really liked this book, she did so good with the story. The narrator was new to me and I loved their narration of the characters.
I listened to the audiobook while following along with the ebook. The story was so cute, I loved the character growth for GiGi and Taj.
*I received a copy of this book on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for this opportunity.*
Gigi is absolutely, completely, head-over-heels in love with a man she has never met. Just Zane's voice alone has her convinced he is the person she wants to spend her life with. The only problem, besides only knowing was a google search and audiobook narrator profile can tell her about him, Zane lives in London, England. Decidedly not close to her romance bookstore in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Then, in an unexpectedly kind gesture, Gigi's beloved book club surprises her with a 30th birthday gift of a trip to meet her one and only... sort of. Is this the most perfect opportunity for a meet-cute Gigi could have dreamed of? Absolutely. And she is going to do everything in her power to get her happily ever after.
The main romance was... meh. I'm all for witty banter, light flirting and tension, and avoiding 'insta-love'-- however, it felt as though Gigi and her love interest were play(?) arguing so much there wasn't much else to the basis of their relationship. I would have loved for more moments that proved they were a good fit for each other (like an in depth discussion on their mutual love of books or, really, just anything that provided more depth to him besides just the basics of 'he's hot and funny'.) , not just that they like to take digs at each other.
In my opinion, however, the true stars of this romance book were the side characters. Each person's story was so unique, I often found myself rooting for them rather than Gigi and her love interest. They often felt more fully formed than the leading man himself. Additionally, Guertin did a WONDERFUL job of bringing the beauty and atmosphere of England to life. I could lose myself in her descriptions of the British countryside, and it made me desperate to return so I could take the exact tour Gigi was on.
Overall, GIGI, LISTENING is a fun, lighthearted read perfect to bring along on vacations of your own.
This is a witty, smart read. Both the romance and the character development are well done and very engaging. The quirkiness of the various characters in the heroine’s life – both on the bus tour and her family – adds to the fabric of the story. This story had me laughing and feeling for these characters at various times. Gigi’s character development is very realistic and relatable. While it’s close to home for me, it was done with a deft hand and I was able to enjoy and relate. There were a couple of story threads that either weren’t wrapped up for me or if they were I felt like it wasn’t explained how the characters got to the end. Overall, this was a really good read, and I’m looking forward to reading more books from Guertin.
I listened to this book on audio and really enjoyed it. The narrator did a good job and was easy to understand.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Owns romance book store all the while yearning for a love of her own.
I listened to the audiobook version and LOOOOVED the Zane parts. It was really great “hearing” the audio of Zane doing the audiobook!
Sweet little romance, had the love triangle pegged from reading the book’s description but that didn’t deter from an enjoyable listen! Will add that this is not a super spicy read. So if hot and heavy is too much for you this is a great book!
Loved the growth GiGi saw and her relationship with her brother. I loved all of her bus tour friends and how their lives intertwined! Such a great easy listen romance! I want to be in a book club like her!! So freaking cool!
Gigi, a Michigan romance bookshop owner, has fallen in love with the voice of an audiobook narrator named Zane. When her friends send her on a bus tour in England where Zane is supposed to be the tour guide, Gigi thinks that her destiny awaits her. Will Gigi’s love story be like those in the books she is obsessed with? Only time will tell.
I have mixed feelings about this book. I loved parts and hated parts of it. The story was cute and I loved the ending, but getting there was the hard part. I feel like half the book I just wanted to shake Gigi and tell her to see what’s right in front of her instead of living in some make believe fantasy world in her head. Every time I thought she was coming around to reality she went and fell farther into this fairytale she had concocted in her head. I did enjoy all of the characters on the bus tour and liked getting to see how their lives were. Gigi and her huge obsession with some fairytale romance was the only part of the book that I wasn’t a huge fan of, the problem was that was most of the book. Overall this was an okay romance with a great ending!
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC audiobook!
I loved this book and audio book! So much so I can’t wait for it to come out so I can rush out and buy it. It’s one I simply need to have a physical copy of.
Ok, hear me out. You know when a book is so good you simply can’t let it go? You end up going back and rereading the last few chapters again just to experience it one more time . . . Yes? Well, that was me and this book. *sigh*
Gigi is one of those characters you simply have to like because of how genuine she is and secretly envy because she owns a romance bookstore. I don’t care if she is fiction or not, she is quite literally living my dream! I digress. Gigi is basically in love with the voice of an audio book narrator. Relatable, right? Insert me listening to Shane East reading me to sleep. . . Hell, Julia Whelan reading the male narration even makes me swoon! Needless to say, I get it.
When Zane is a no show, Gigi relaxes into herself; for what seems the first time in her adult life. That is when Taj sneaks in right under her nose. Taj. Sweet, gruff, swoon worthy, Want to know what I love about him so much? THEN READ THE BOOK and thank me later.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of the ePub and the Audio book. They were both simply amazing and I am already itching to read it again. All thought and opinions are my own. #GigiListening #NetGalley

This book was not what I thought it was going to be, but overall it was sweet and heartfelt and I really enjoyed it. Gigi was a relatable character and I loved her growth throughout the story but I hated the original premise of legitimately being in love with Zane just for his voice.
I also hated Zane as a character and didn’t think he was realistically any competition for Taj even though Gigi made it seem that way. I loved all the other side characters; super fun and dynamic! And of course I loved the love even if it was extremely predictable haha.
A cute fast paced nonsteamy romance. The initial premise is crazy, but sometimes it pays off to be a little crazy. I thoroughly enjoyed this one.
Gigi, Listening by Chantel Guertin
Contemporary romance / romantic comedy.
Gigi is a bit of a romantic. She owns a romance book store and believes in love and soulmates. She has listened to one particular audio book dozens of times, falling in love with the narrator. His voice has her mesmerized and fixated to the point she’s searched his online profile and knows he’s a tour guide in the English countryside. A surprise birthday gift from her bookclub has her taking a ten day vacation that includes a tour done by her soulmate narrator.
Gigi is romanticizing her parents meet-cute and is sure she can have the same thing. But when Zane doesn’t show for the first few days of the tour, Gigi has to make the best of her vacation time. Taj makes Gigi a bit crazy and yet she’s fascinated by his strength and ability to entertain and keep everyone on schedule.
We all know what’s going to happen, right? But it takes Gigi a very long time to figure it out for herself. She also needs to do a bit of self reflection. I think she’s way too hard on her brother. Of course, it ends with a sigh and happiness so don’t worry.
Read the fantasy of finding your true love.
🎧 I listened to an audiobook version narrated by Natalie Naudus. She does a really great job with differences between male and female, but more, quite a few of the characters have an English accent (vs for the States). Conversation are fun to follow with the changing accents. Emotions are clearly expressed and I liked the tempo of the overall recording. I did raise the speed to 1.5 finding anything faster was unclear and slower felt like it was dragging.
I received a copy of the from NetGalley and RB Media.

This was a fun romance in the English country side. I loved how Gigi went on this tour to find the love of her life even though the story was slightly predictable. I am glad Gigi got her happy ending and I loved the inclusion of romance novels and her love of books as it mirrors mine.

This was a clean, witty, and heartfelt romance book that I really enjoyed. Gigi a small business bookshop owner travels across the world to meet Zane. She’s spellbound to his voice since Zane is the narrator to an audiobook that meant so much to her parents. As she travels for that one purpose, she takes back so much back with her. The characters were all so well written (even Zade), and I absolutely loved the character development of Gigi. She does a complete 360 change. I loved the ending, and I hardly ever give a romance with no steam a 5🌟 review! I also loved how she had to learn how to cope with her parents death.
How much do you expect to learn in a 10 day bus tour with so many strangers???
✨✨✨✨✨
Lessons I took away from it were; Things don’t always go as planned, careful how you say things, and grief is hard but sometimes you have to let go for your own well being.

Natalie Naudus kills it as the narrator of this book. She gives Gigi the voice I would have expected from this character.
Gigi owns a bookstore that she inherited from her late parents. She is obsessed with the voice of a romance audiobook that started her parent's love story.
Although her friends have encouraged her to go on dates, she can't get Zane out of her head and heart. When her friend gets her a trip to Irland on tour Zane works on it for her birthday. She's scared but ready to start her own love story.
The premise of this story was super intriguing because one asks if will she fall for Zane or someone else on that your. The adventure is endless
Gigi makes more friends and takes on new things - which is what we want to see
I loved the twist and turns and the world they won't they. As well as the mystery of Zane however I do wish Gigi was a little more grounded in reality.
She hung on to Zane for a way to long for that to be healthy however the lovely thing was the growth she made and the realizations - Although I felt it took too long to happen it did happen which was glorious
A sweet read that shows us how women can grow and flourish out of grief
A romance dealing with the dangers of staying "safe" in the past and projecting someone else's story onto your life.
Gigi is a bookseller in Ann Arbor MI who is in a rut, still mourning the loss of her parents eight years previous. Her friends send her packing - to England. It seems the one and done audiobook narrator Gigi has become obsessed with runs a tour company and Gigi is booked for 10 days to see if he's "the one". Of course, mishaps occur and Gigi has to figure out that she might not be clear on what's actually best for her.
This was a charming, sweet story with fantastic and diverse characters. The narration was well done and the British accents convincing. I enjoyed my virtual trip to England!
I was skeptical but being a big audiobook listener I felt like this one was for me and it was absolutely wonderful! Gigi's friends send her on a trip to the UK to meet the voice of the audiobook that brought her parents together and let's just say things don't always happen the way we want them to but sometimes work out better in the end. I loved the cast of characters in Gigi, Listening as well as the ending. It wasn't sappy or predictable. I couldn't stop listening! I highly recommend.
