Let me start off by saying: the premise of this book is unhinged. A woman is so obsessed with the narrator of ONE (1) audiobook, that for her birthday, her friends buy her a flight to London and a TEN DAY bus tour that he guides. That is just about the straightest premise for a romcom I have ever heard in my life. I am going to put aside how absolutely absurd this is to review the book, because otherwise we would be here all day.
Gigi has been living her life mostly on pause since her parents died 8 years ago, running the bookstore they left her and otherwise not doing much for herself. When her friends surprise her with a birthday trip to England to take a tour hosted by the narrator of an audiobook she is emotionally attached to, she thinks her life is about to begin.
When she gets to London, however, she learns Zane (the man of her dreams) isn't available for the tour after all. The tour guide is an older man named Angus, but the bus driver is Taj, a hottie with a body. The rest of the tour is the usual collection of wacky characters, hijinks ensue, there's some chemistry, some miscommunications, etc etc.
Overall, I liked the book. Is it truly beyond heterosexual? Yes. Is it a psychotic idea to traipse across the world for an audiobook narrater? Undoubtedly. But the bits that weren't focused around Zane and this insane quest were enjoyable. Taj was a fun character. Gigi was cool when she stopped being so neurotic. And everyone got the ending they deserved. I will say the narrator of THIS audiobook was great, but I am certainly not going to fly to another country to try and find her.
Thanks to NetGalley and RB Media for the ARC.
This book was definitely was a bit difficult to get into, especially while listening to it. Although as the story went on, it got better. This is a cute and sweet romantic story good for hopeless romantics. Also the setting was described very vivid and made the book even better.
Gigi is a hopeless romantic. She runs a romance only bookstore and loves to listen to her favourite audiobook presenter, Zane. When Gigi is presented with a chance to go on a bus tour led by Zane, she can't believe her luck. She'll finally get to meet the man who makes her heart flutter! But when she gets there, Zane doesn't show, citing a family illness. With a replacement tour guide, Gigi makes do, making new friends and trying her best to enjoy herself.
I was lucky enough to receive a copy of both the audio and ebook so I alternated between reading and listening. Poor Gigi, I really felt for her when Zane didn't show up on the first day! I loved how much Gigi's character evolves throughout the book. Super cute read - I'm glad I got to read it.
How could I resist an audiobook about an owner of a romance bookstore who falls in love with an audiobook narrator?
Gigi, Listening was entirely different from Instamom, Guertin's previous book, but even more loveable. Gigi was such a fun protagonist. She's a bit of a homebody, a bit scattered, and a bit stuck, but when her friends gift her a trip to England for her 30th birthday, she steps out of her comfort zone and takes it. (Can I just take a moment to say, where do I find friends like this?? I've never been gifted an international vacation!) Gigi grows significantly as a person throughout the course of the trip.
The romance completely charming, and the references to other beloved romance books made it even more fun. I've read almost all of the romances that Guertin references in the book, which made it a blast to read.
The side characters were also lovely. The backstories of all the different tourists made for fun detours throughout the story, and there was definitely one little twist I didn't see coming.
Make sure to add this fun, lighthearted travel romance to your TBR this spring.
Audiobook Review: Given how important audiobooks are to Gigi, it's only fitting to listen to the audio copy of this book. Natalie Naudus does the story the justice it deserves, although she's no Zane Wilkerson (or, well, she sort of is?). I really enjoyed the listen.
I listened to the audiobook of 'Gigi, Listening'. The narrator, Natalie Naudus, did an amazing job of bringing Chantel Guertin's story to life. There were so many characters in this story, and Natalie Naudus' voice work made each character feel real and separate from the other characters. She did a great job with all of the different accents too.
At first, I found Gigi to be an annoying character, but she really grew on me! I was really rooting for her to find love. The other characters were also so much fun. Each character had a unique story and perspective. The characters all came to the bus tour in England for their own reasons, and I loved reading about all of their stories.
Overall, I enjoyed this audiobook and story. I loved the descriptions of all of the places that they traveled to in England. It really makes me want to visit there too! I felt like I was on the bus with all of the characters.
Thanks to NetGalley and RB Media for an ALC of this wonderful book.
Thank you so much to RB Media for the chance to listen to and review this audiobook prior to release.
As someone who listens to 100+ audiobooks a year, I was so hyped for this one (the cover is adorable btw) but unfortunately it wasn't for me.
The narrator was great to listen to and I would rate her 5/5!
This audiobook is available for purchase on March 28th!
This was a cute, easy read! Books set in the UK, especially ones that take you "traveling" with them are my favorite, so this was ideal for me.

Gigi Rutherford loves love stories. She reads them, she sells them at her romance bookstore.
When she's presented with the chance of a lifetime: a ten-day bus tour through the English countryside, an ocean away from her bookstore—all in the presence of Zane in person, as he leads the tour.
...Zane Wilkenson is the smooth-voiced narrator Gigi is convinced is her soulmate.
✔️ Books about book lovers
✔️ Quirky characters.
✔️ Road trip
... oh what a sweet ride.
A cute read about Finding love unexpectedly, Second chances and friendship.
I just wish there was more steam 😄
keep an eye out for its release.
Thank you to RB Media, thr author and NetGalley for the advance copy of this Audiobook for an honest
Thank you, NetGalley for this advance audio copy in exchange for my honest review.
“Gigi Rutherford loves love stories. She reads them, she sells them at her romance bookstore, and she could spend hours imagining the meet-cutes of every couple she encounters. But when it comes to her own love interests, Gigi is out of stock. Instead of enduring bad date after bad date, these days she’d rather curl up with her favorite audiobook and the only man who makes her heart skip a beat: Zane Wilkenson, the smooth-voiced narrator Gigi is convinced is her soulmate.
Then, she’s presented with the chance of a lifetime: a ten-day bus tour through the English countryside, an ocean away from her bookstore—all in the presence of Zane, in person, as he leads the tour.
But when Gigi arrives at the bus terminal in London, Zane is nowhere to be found. Until he shows up, she’s stuck with an eclectic group of fellow travelers: recently widowed and chatty Charlotte; trivia-obsessed Francis; Jenny, a true-crime-makeup YouTuber documenting every detail for her subscribers; and Sindhi and Roshi, a long-married couple who can’t stop bickering. Then there’s the brooding bus driver, Taj, who Gigi finds infuriating yet also incredibly alluring . . .”
Overall this was a cute story. I enjoyed the narrator as well. It’s a believable romance which is nice.
That being said I wasn’t Gigi’s biggest fan and really didn’t care where the story was going.
It was fine, I didn’t super like it but it was fine.
As someone who really loves audiobooks I could empathize with Gigi falling in love with her favourite narrator's voice and wanting to listen to the book over and over again because of that voice. That being said if I knew that my favourite narrator was also a guide for a tour in England I would definitely be buying a ticket to check out the tour because it combines some things I love: books, reading, traveling and being a tourist in UK would be the icing on the cake.
I liked the story and all the side characters, but I did find that Gigi was a bit oblivious and annoying at times. I did like how the author described the setting and the fun things that the group did along the tour route. It really made me want to visit England! The plot is predictable, but the book is quick to read so I think people will enjoy it.
Gigi lives in Michigan and runs her parents bookshop after they passed away. It’s almost as it Gigi is scared to change anything after their death because she doesn’t want to forget their memory. Her friends end up buying her a tour in England to meet the narrator of the book that helped bring her parents together. However, upon arrival Zane is not there because he hasn’t shown up and they have a substitute tour guide.
This book shows us how sometimes the life we have planned out doesn’t work out the way it’s supposed to be. And guess what it’s okay and it works out better than you expected.
Thank you #NetGalley for the advance copy

I received an ARC from RB Media via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Narrated by Natalie Naudus.
. The story was super cute. The narrator did a fantastic job invoking the emotions of the characters. It’s sweet. It is a closed-door romance. The back story slowly reveals itself. I did guess pretty fast about one reveal, but I didn’t mind that. It did not take away from the story.
Gigi Rutherford took over her parent's bookstore and made it into a romance bookstore. She is in a slump. Gigi is tied to her shop and has no luck dating. She obsesses over an audiobook narrator's voice. On a whim, her girlfriend gifts her a trip to London to meet said narrator to win him over after Gigi finds out he is a tour guide.
I enjoyed most of the storyline and loved the other characters on the tour group.
My one issue with Gigi is her behavior between day one and, I think, four of the 1-10 day tour. I get that she believes this Zane guy MIGHT be her soulmate. I believe her character would understand that it’s a chance at Romance, and it wasn’t a guarantee Zane would fall for her. So, when she found out Zane wasn’t going to be there the first day, and might not make it, I understood her disappointment and part of her reaction. It was a bit extreme that Gigi even thought of flying home immediately. The part of her behavior I didn’t like was that she kept asking when Zane would be back on tour after finding out one of his family member was ill and he was taking care of them. I understand her asking after him to see how he was doing, to see if there were a chance he would return. I just thought it was a touch over done and mean towards Angus, the replacement tour guide. I understoodt why she slept through the first day of the tour. That honestly fits perfectly. Jet lagged and hungry.
It was nice to see how Gigi was before Zane showed up and after. Gigi didn’t even realize she had a much-needed internal journey that this trip brought. Her interaction with Lars was significant, especially on the last day of the tour.
I want to like this book because 1) It was such an easy read. The story was paced well and kept me engaged 2)The audiobook is narrated by Natalie Naudus. So. Duh. 3)The love story was actually rather sweet in the end.
But, what in the EAT PRAY LOVE was that plot?! Our main character is coping with a traumatic event in their life in what I would argue is an EXTREMELY unhealthy way which all her friends and family support to the point of spending thousands of dollars for her to take a trip across the world.
Also, this book has clarified that I HATE books about books. I swear our main character mentioned a different book every other page.
I would highly recommend this to anyone that says #momlife unironically or considers drinking wine a personality trait.
Thanks to netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this title and Audiobook experience. The narration was wonderful and the characters all well acted. An easy read and very much a one sitting experience for me.
I loved that while this romance plot line was a straight forward story of a woman, Gigi, taking a risk to find her love story and soulmate. The books draw ended up being more so the side characters and Gigis personal journey dealing with her own expectations and past traumas. I do think the ending wrap up was a little hasty, almost too simple for the complexities of the story and that’s the only reason I won’t rate this higher. Still I stand by having enjoyed this and would recommend giving the audiobook a listen
Gigi's life is predictable, and that's the way she likes it. Her days consist of running her romance-themed bookshop, organizing book club with all of her best girlfriends, and of course (like any avid romance reader) obsessing over the dulcet tones of her favorite dreamy audiobook narrator. When her friends prove how much they know her by buying her a ticket to a month-long tour of the English countryside with her dream man as tour guide, Gigi knows it's time to grab life by the reins and engineer her own meet cute.
The romance for this book was sweet, steamy, and honestly at times a little frustrating. The thing is, as an avid romance reader myself, I couldn't even be mad at our narrator for causing herself distress by so stubbornly clinging to her fantasies. If I had the opportunity to meet the real-life narrator of my book boyfriend, I'd probably be arrested within the hour.
What really makes this book, in my opinion, is the connections that Gigi makes with the other tour members. The book is a reflection of the things we love most about reading: sometimes you have to remove yourself from your life for a little while to find the healing you've been looking for. And sometimes you find yourself loving the characters you least expected.
I received this ARC from Netgalley and the publishers to read and review. All of my statements above are my true opinions after fully reading this book.
Thanks to NetGalley, RB Media, and Recorded Books for an arc of this audiobook. Below is my honest review. I apologize if misspell any names or locations, I read this via the audio narration.
Thanks to Natalie Naudus for narrating. As usual, she did a wonderful job!
Gigi, a bookstore owner from Ann Arbor, wants her love life to be like her late parents. Otherwise, she’d rather be reading instead of dating. She thinks she has a connection with Zane, the person who narrated her favorite audiobook. This is the same book that helped her parents fall in love. Gigi knows her feelings aren’t real since they haven’t met, but still … she can dream.
For her birthday, Gigi is gifted a bus tour of London and tour is led by none other than Zane. Yes, the same Zane that narrates her favorite book. Even though she is worried about leaving her shop in the care of her brother, Gigi cannot let this trip slip through her fingers.
After almost missing the bus after arriving in London, Gigi learns Zane had a family emergence isn’t going to be the guide the first day. Does she stay and hope Zane arrives before the end of the tour? Or does she go back home? Gigi only has one choice …
Will Gigi meet Zane? Will she find her soulmate? Will her brother accidentally burn down her bookshop?
Overall, I enjoyed this read. I will admit the plot was pretty predictable and Gigi was a smidge stalkery. Her growth was a little late, but appreciated. My favorite characters were the others on the tour, the tour guide Angus, and the bus driver Taj. Murder and mayhem Jenny wins best name.
It was not a favorite of mine, but I’m glad I read
Gigi runs a romance book shop and hasn’t taken a trip for fear of leaving the shop.
Gigi is obsessed with a audiobook due to the narrator Zane and is convinced they are soulmates Her friends and members of her book club get her a fantastic 10 day bus trip in England who is guided by none other than Zane.
The cast of characters with her on the tour are adorable. Taj is sweet and caring with a big helping of humor. My favorites are Charlotte and Angus. I guessed Philips story early on but was still sweet.
I did think the ending was good and very Sleepless in Seattle like but that was not enough for me to be happy that Gigi got her happy ending.
I was eye rolling so much at the beginning of this on how disappointed Gigi is when there is a change in the tour guide. If this story was reversed and the MC was a male so many would thing totally inappropriate which it is. Not one person when she told why she is on the trip thought…. Ummmm red flag
I really enjoyed this road trip romance! Gigi is working through not only the loss of her parents but also a romantic relationship. She sets off to England to try to find love with her favorite audiobook narrator that also works as a bus tour guide. But is the hunky/grumpy bus driver more her style? There is the added bonus that is the other friendships and relationships made by all of the people traveling together.
Thank you, Net Galley, for an audio ARC of Gigi, Listening by Chantel Guertin. This was seriously entertaining. The plot was a little out there, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
Gigi is stuck in her unchanged life at her 30th birthday - everything is consistent: her job, her schedule, and her constant re-listen of a specific audiobook. She becomes addicted to the voice of the narrator - Zane. For her birthday her book club surprises her with the ultimate gift a 10 day trip and tour of England with the tour company owned and ran by Zane.
She goes into the trip thinking it will be a whirlwind romance once they meet, spoiler alert, it's not. However, Taj the grumpy bus driver catches her eye.
This is a beautiful story of self-discovery and a great reminder to be careful what you wish for.
