This book is super fitting for this present time. Who does not love a good charcuterie board? I know I do, so why wouldn’t we create one for our furry animals? This is a great book that shows you so many different ways and techniques to create an awesome spread for your dog or dogs and their friends! Along with how to make some yummy treats!! Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for my honest feedback!
Absolutely loved this! As a pup owner I will definitely be recreating some of Ham and Olivia’s favourite recipes. All look easy to make with little muss or fuss. I wish there were a few more recipes especially for events like Halloween, but a brilliant little book just like the little pups that created it.
Thank you for the copy for a review.
Loving my furbaby Chiweenie, Emma Belle, as much as I do, I was excited when I discovered, BARKCUTERIE: 25 Pawsome Snack Boards Your Dog Will Love.
In the introduction, written by Chris, Dog Dad, we get to meet, Hammy and Olivia, the authors of BARKCUTERIE. This adorable duo won my heart right away.
After we meet the fur pair, the next chapter shares notes on ingredients. It is necessary to know what our dogs can eat. So many things can be dangerous for them. Then, after a look at some of the supplies and tools you’ll need, we finally get a look at the barkcuterie boards every dog will love!
There are boards for every holiday, based on the four seasons. Boards like, National Dog Day, Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Birthdays, Gotcha Day, Cinco de Mayo, and more.
All boards contain store bought dog treats, as well as ingredients for other delights to make the perfect bites. The homemade treats not only look amazing (they made my stomach growl), all of the ingredients are eatable for us mere humans as well!
No pup parent should miss out on this fun book for making amazing boards of treats for your dog. BARKCUTERIE, like your loving canine(s), is a must have in your home!
My daughter is soooo good at charcuterie boards...I'm going to use this book to encourage her to take it to the next level! What a great concept. We have a dog training business, and I think I'll incorporate some of these as graduation gifts for our students!
Thank you to Quarto Publishing and NetGalley for an e-ARC of this title in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.
If you love dogs and love to spoil them with yummy treats, this is a cute book to have and even gift to a dog lover. I appreciate how the content is separated and under separate themes. The recipes do require some work so beware before buying, some ingredients are not the usual pantry staples. The photos are lovely and the boards themselves look pretty amazing and creative. My dog will love the treats and I can't wait to gift them to my friends that are dog moms.
Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the opportunity to read and review this book. I received a copy of the ebook in exchange for my honest review
This cookbook is adorable! I have been marking barkcuterie boards for my pups for about 2 years now and they are a hit with my pups and my friends. As a fur momma of 6, I love all the ideas and recipes in this book. I like to know exactly what I am giving my dogs and these recipes are super easy to follow!
What a fantastic book. Ideal for this how want to show some love to their doggie companion.
The book is full of recipes and board layouts. The chapters are divided into seasons with all major holidays included. The photos are inspiring.
The treats and snacks are made using dog safe ingredients and are healthy too.
I highly recommend this book to dog lovers and those wanting to host a special day for your pup.
Oh good grief this is super super cute as well as giving knowledge on some wonderful treats for your fur babies! This book combines three of my favorite things (dogs, food, and charcuterie boards) so it's hardly a no brainer that I had to have it!
I must try the banana balls and chicken jerky treats soon. It has fabulous colorful photo's and easy directions to create each board/recipe! A total must have!

Thanks to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for providing this complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
This book deserves 7/5 stars for the creativity, photography and incorporated dog costumes. The recipes are simple, easy to follow, and turn into an adorable work of art for your pup to enjoy. I loved the themes presented, the tips and ingredient list in the beginning as well as the added bonus of a board for cats! I’m looking forward to sharing these treats and recipes with my fellow pet parents. Thank you NetGalley for the arc.
Ok this was super cute, The photos are great and recipes are healthy versions of food you would eat. The chicken broth for tea was ridiculously funny
Such a cute cookbook for dog goodies. Everything is simple enough and I know my dog is going to love everything in this book!
Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book. Hammy and Olivia's parents wrote this really cute book showing us all how to make splentacular barkcuterie boards for our dogs. There are boards for many holidays and seasons each with recipes and beautiful pictures. Some food items on the boards will need to be prepared while others are simple fruits and veggies or store bought treats. We always prepare charcuterie boards for New Years Eve so this books has given me some wonderful ideas for making a boards for my pugs this year. They will be extremely excited. I would recommend this book for anyone who loved to cook for their pups!
Review to come mid-april to blog/goodreads/etc.
I received this book from Netgalley/the publisher in exchange of an honest review~
OMG, I just cannot resist books about cooking for dogs! And back when I requested this book I was still on a search for doggo! However.. when I read it a week later on the 8th of March? I had a dog. Well, OK, we are picking her up on the 23rd of March when she is 9 weeks! So the book is even more relevant than it was before when I requested it. Then it was just fun ideas and lots of awww, and now it is, OMG I an actually bake and make this for my puppers~ YAS!
In this book we get all sorts of Barkcuteries~ I love the pun, I do so much. We get boards featuring seasons, but there are also barkcuteries for other things. I just loved the amount of variety and I was so eager to get reading! I love that we started with a good/bad/sparingly use food list, which is handy for a new owner like me. Some are a DUH (like chocolate or alcohol or onions) but others are good to know~
And then the book really starts, with at first the barkcuterie and what goes in it and how to set it all up and then with each separate yummy food. From muffins to cookies to eggs everything is mentioned and I just got so hungry. There are so many fun food items one can make and I was just impressed by the variety of it all. I knew there was a lot possible, but the few books I found/read mostly focussed on cookies or baked goods. This one actually also does some other stuff. And I also love it combines pet snacks with things you bake/cook. Now i just have to decide what to make first! Haha. I want to try it all! The maple cookies! The cupcakes! Cheese sticks?? The cute cucumber paw prints?, well, OK, that will have to wait until summer as cucumbers are expensive now.
Some of these I cannot make, hello nut/peanut allergy. But thankfully there are enough other things that I can make, and I do know that dogs love Peanut Butter so I can imagine why it was added. Also on that note, there were some stuff like Wiggles & Wags Bake Shop?? Or other brands that I never heard of and cannot really find in my country? I will just have to substitute that with something we have in my country, if I can find something similar. That was a bit of a shame, I get that the book is made in the US, but make sure that everyone around the world can use it. I recently read about a pet bakery, but that is located WAY too far from my home, but that was really the very first time that I heard about that concept. It sounds so fun though. A bakery for your dogs? Pets? Yes!
The photographs, OH MY HEART *holds hand to chest*. Those were just the cutest ever. And I just wanted to pet them! And the photographs of the food? Well, let's just say? This human is also hungry now. Well, OK, not for the peanut stuff, but the others? HECK YES.
All in all, get this book. I know I will. I need to make my puppers some yummy foods~
What an adorable set of recipes and ideas. As a millennial, my dog is like my child and he’s spoiled to boot. Having cute ideas to include him with dog safe recipes for holidays and special occasions is amazing. The books is perfectly coordinated by holiday and has easy steps and recipes to follow. I think this is a great asset to any dog owners cookbook collection.
Thank you for this advanced copy of Barkcuterie. This was a very cute pet cookbook. I loved all of the colorful photos and the ideas for special Barkcuturie boards throughout the year. The pups were also the cutest.
The reason I am giving 3 stars is because a good portion of the recipes were a little too complex. I prefer to feed my own pup treats that only consist of a couple of ingredients. I did not agree with some of the ingredients being used (why the maple syrup?) and it would be possible to substitute those ingredients, but I wish the authors would have given suggestions for substitutions. My other problem with this recipe book is some of the treat brands that are recommended. Again, I am aware that you can use any treat you like, but some people reading this cookbook may not do the research on these treats. They're not the best for your pup.
Overall, I would still say that this is a good book to check out and possibly give for a gift. I will definitely be trying out some of the simpler recipes and putting some Barkcuterie boards together for some special events throughout the year.

The cat mom needs a Meowcuterie too!
Who needs this book? Obviously WE US ALL!
Because just look at the corgis ♥️
Let’s calm down a bit and talk about the book.
I love the contents so much cos it’s for our dogs we are talking about. The number of recipes for them (I don’t think I have this many recipes ready for us minions to save our lives) but lucky us this book has enough healthy recipes for our paw pets.
The presentation is really awesome. The ingredients used are fairly available throughout the seasons and the recipes fairly easy to prepare. Find your pick for each season and we have a happy dog who’s enjoying all the good food!
Thank you, Quarto Publishing Group- Rock Point, for the advance reading copy.
Being familiar with the fun, cute videos of Hammy and Olivia, I was expecting, well, cute and fun. It's all that and more. Not only do we get colorful photos of Hammy and Olivia to illustrate whatever the creation is celebrating, but the book is well-set and an easy guide to follow. It's very well done, especially for two adorable corgis. <insert chuckle>
You say you don't have a board or cookie shape cutters shaped like a paw print or bone? No problem. As is noted, you can certainly use what's at hand but a list of online resources is available at the end. But, with a bit of artful arrangement, you can easily use even a plate to display your results. It's just cuter and, well, more doggie with the shapes.
As for the recipes, they are simple and easy to follow. Hammy and Olivia introduce each, though their humans do manage to get a few words in here and there, including an introduction. Ingredients and tools are listed and the recipes themselves tend to be short, easy steps. No massive reading required. You also have full color photos of not just the dogs ready to celebrate but the boards themselves to use as a visual guideline. And, yes, for those owned by cats, there are some adorable cat themed boards, too.
The authors also provide a boxed list of safe, safe but should be used only sparingly, and things you should never feed your pets. It's all handy and on one page, easy to copy and keep handy for everyday occasions, not just celebratory ones. I liked that the authors added a caution that just because a food is listed here as safe, you need to be aware of pet allergies or bad reactions to foods and substitute as needed.
Thanks #NetGalley and #QuartoPublishingGroup- #RockPoint for making this adorable and creative barkcuterie guide available. My Daisy dog's birthday is coming up soon, not to mention her Gotcha Day , so....hmm. She’s a corgi mix and gives this one 4 paws up and a tail wag.
This is a great book with fairly simple recipes that are easy to make. It’s a beautiful book and the recipes are perfect. I’m definitely making some of them for my dogs.
I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. What a cute book. Beautiful photos and the recipes are very easy to follow along with the layout of your puppy board. I think these would be a cute idea if you are having a gathering and people bring their dogs etc. Great for all seasons.
